Qin Luoxi quickly placed the Crimson Bloodstone back into her space and activated her Reincarnation Power to seal it away.
"Not enough," she murmured to herself after a moment of silence.
The perspective shifted back to Lin Han. In his haste to find an opportunity to leave, Lin Han did not return directly to his squad members; instead, he chose to leave the academy alone.
As he stepped out of the academy gates, he felt a sense of confusion wash over him. The events of recent times had been overwhelming. He had inexplicably attracted the attention of a cult organization, found himself caught up in a city-wide massacre, and then there was that fleeting glance from Qin Luoxi.
Lin Han was not like the wooden characters in those novels who only spouted nonsensical phrases. The memory of that moment was deeply etched in his mind. He was certain it was Qin Luoxi, but whether that was her true appearance, he dared not inquire further.
He wanted to find an opportunity to ask her directly, yet somehow he couldn't bring himself to speak. "Forget it, I'll deal with it later," he thought. There was no point in dwelling on these matters; he should first assess his gains.
Taking a deep breath, Lin Han stepped onto the street. With a slight movement of his consciousness, he opened his status panel. When he saw that his level had reached Seventeen, he felt a surge of surprise. His gaze fell upon the record of Experience Points gained, which displayed a long list of slain Unknown Tentacles.
It made sense that his level was so high; after all, the Bloodborn Core from the Crimson Corpse must have yielded substantial rewards upon defeat.
As Lin Han pondered this, he examined his system warehouse but found no additional items. Frowning, he opened the system message panel and focused on the Bloodborn Core entry.

Staring at the two pieces of information, Lin Han fell into a brief stupor before once again searching through his warehouse, but still found no sign of the so-called Crimson Bloodstone.
Lin Han shook his head. Perhaps it was better to report this matter to Wu Qinghong, considering the people who came to rescue him. This title was something he had never heard of before.
After searching through the system, he found no trace of information regarding the title. All he received from this reward was experience points; there were no substantial benefits at all. Lin Han's face darkened as he realized that he had nearly lost his life taking down the Crimson Corpse, only to gain nothing in return. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became, and the more he felt cheated.
He silently vowed to ask Wu Qinghong for some benefits in return. With that thought in mind, Lin Han continued to scroll through the interface and finally saw the system notification indicating that the mission was complete.

Looking at the string of system messages, Lin Han felt a bit overwhelmed but quickly tried to sort through them. He first clicked on the reward for saving Wu City and confirmed his claim.
