Watching the anger in the eyes of those around him, Lin Han shook his head.
Since this was a duel in the arena, I believe the school has its own sense of judgment. Besides, we both know Fat Cat's personality; it would be better to wait until after the event to make a decision.
The three women fell silent, but at that moment in the arena, Xue Wushuang seemed to explode with pent-up energy.
"Enough!"
With a thunderous roar, the surrounding crimson energy became increasingly chaotic, and Xue Wushuang's eyes gradually turned blood-red.
Han Fei was momentarily stunned by Xue Wushuang's shout. When she regained her composure, her pretty face was filled with even more anger.
"Dragon Sparrow! Dragon Flame Whip!"
With a piercing cry, Dragon Sparrow's already dazzling feathers became blindingly bright, layers of flames coalescing into a long whip that swept toward the charging Xue Wushuang.
The howling sound wave made all the spectators hold their breath.
Yet, Xue Wushuang faced this attack head-on without any intention of dodging.
"This is bad!"
Lin Han's expression darkened. He had misjudged Xue Wushuang's talent for Frenzy; at this moment, the blood-red Fat Cat would not evade any attack. In this state, if she took the whip head-on, Xue Wushuang could be in mortal danger!
Seeing Xue Wushuang charge forward instead of retreating, Han Fei couldn't help but furrow her brows. A flicker of hesitation crossed her eyes, but it was already too late.
As the Flame Whip was about to strike Xue Wushuang's side—
"Roar!"
A deafening roar echoed throughout the arena as a fiery cyclone suddenly appeared between Xue Wushuang and the two Dragon Flame Whips.
The flames shredded the whips apart, sending waves of heat cascading toward the audience on either side.
A powerful Vital Breath surged forth, enveloping the entire arena. The heat waves collided with the life barrier and dissipated into nothingness.
Lin Han's gaze immediately locked onto a figure on the stands—a somewhat hunched silhouette.
A sense of shock filled his heart; to be able to conjure such a large barrier in such a short time showed just how unfathomable the Military Academy's strength truly was.
Xue Wushuang was caught in the explosion but was saved just in time by Lin Han.
Seeing Xue Wushuang fall into unconsciousness, Lin Han couldn't help but let out a soft sigh.
A cold and piercing gaze fell upon the distant, astonished face of Han Fei.
Han Fei was taken aback, yet maintained an air of calmness, furrowing his brow. "Lin Han, this is my duel with that fat fool; it's a competition in the academy's Arena. How dare you interfere!"
He was already gravely injured and unconscious. Do you truly wish to kill him?
Lin Han's expression darkened, a murderous intent rising in his eyes.
Feeling the killing intent emanating from Lin Han, Han Fei's eyes flashed with fear, but then something seemed to dawn on him, and tears glimmered in his eyes. "Very well, if that's the case, you can take his place and fight me! Pang Lao, you need not concern yourself; I will make him pay!"
Lin Han observed Han Fei's reaction with suspicion; the emotion that flickered in his opponent's eyes seemed to be one of grievance. But in front of so many people, he had merely saved Fat Cat—why would Han Fei feel wronged?
Lin Han sensed that the atmosphere was becoming increasingly tense when suddenly a light cough broke the silence.
The hunched figure who had attacked earlier slowly descended onto the Arena. The old man was none other than Pang Lao, as previously mentioned by Han Fei. Pang Lao's gaze was calm yet carried an invisible pressure.
He first looked at Han Fei and then shifted his attention to Lin Han.
From Lin Han's perspective, he could discern no change in emotion from Pang Lao's eyes. After a moment, a deep voice resonated through the air.
