Watching the Seventh Level Wood Crystal Core in Cang Jin's hand, Yun Zhi Yue squinted her eyes and asked, "Where did you get that?"
Cang Jin glanced around and replied quietly, "A girl about my age gave it to me. She looked pretty bad and had some injuries. While I was working, she handed it to me and asked me to give it to her sister. She also said she wanted to stay and plant flowers for her sister. She's a Wood Element Ability User."
Yun Zhi Yue raised an eyebrow. "A Wood Element Ability User who hasn't absorbed a Seventh Level Wood Crystal Core? Is she keeping it as a souvenir?" The rarity of a Level Seven Crystal Core made it clear that this girl was in quite a predicament if she was willing to part with it for help. Yun Zhi Yue wasn't one to meddle in others' affairs, so she let Cang Jin find an opportunity to return the Crystal Core and didn't think much of it.
She assumed this would be just a minor episode, but while cleaning the dust off the entrance, she witnessed quite a scene unfold. Five or six big men were bullying someone outside the supermarket.
The girl was quite pretty, with big eyes and a cherry-like mouth. When she clenched her fists, there was a stubborn glint in her eyes. Despite having been slapped several times, causing blood to trickle from the corner of her mouth, she still held her head high.

The leader of the group, a man with crooked teeth, swung his hand again and slapped her down to the ground. His dirty sneakers pressed against the back of her hand as he ground it into the dirt.
"Still being stubborn? If your brother could make it to the base, then he must have killed that Seven Levels Wood Zombie. Before he died, he saw you; who would believe you if you said he left you nothing?"
"Believe it or not, if you have the guts, kill me and let all the major bases see how Wei Shi Base treats the families of those who sacrificed themselves on missions. My brother was a Seventh Level Ability User; if even his family has fallen to this fate, what about others? Who would dare serve Wei Shi after this?"
The Bare Tooth Man was furious and kicked the girl in the chest while cursing at her with foul language.
At that moment, Cang Jin stepped forward with an angry expression. "Sister Yun, it's her! She gave me the Crystal Core! This Wei Shi Base is one of the Three Major Bases; they're really bullying people."
Yun Zhi Yue remained expressionless as she picked up a small bucket and continued cleaning the glass without showing any emotion towards the scene unfolding before her.
In the distance, Ling Xue exchanged glances with Wei Shi Di Chang and Li Jie before stepping out to help the girl.
This spectacle hadn't gone unnoticed; those who cared were paying attention.
Yin Liangchen followed his uncle Lian Yong and sneered, "The performance is good, but Yun Zhi Yue isn't easy to fool. After spending so much time together, I still can't gauge her depth; yet Wei Shi seems to have put on quite a show."
A man dressed similarly to Zhongshan suit shook his head. "This isn't acting; I know that girl—Ye Yao. Her brother is Ye Zhi, who is close to Wei Shi's Base Leader. After Wei Shi's death, many supported Ye Zhi's rise to power, which also meant offending Li Jie. Later on missions, when their teammates fled, Ye Zhi was left alone to face a Level Seven Zombie."
Unexpectedly, Ye Zhi survived the base, but was severely injured. With medical assistance delayed, he simply faded away.
Yin Liangchen found it amusing to repeat, "Medical assistance delayed? Heh, once Wei Shi is in Li Jie's hands, it's the end of the line."
For any base, a Seventh Level Ability User is an essential asset; they can be eliminated at will. As one of the heads of the Three Major Bases, how long could they maintain their position?
That said, Yin Liangchen was now pondering what Wei Shi's intentions were in orchestrating this situation if it wasn't just a performance.
