Given the nature of their relationship, it seemed inappropriate for them to live together. Yet, oddly enough, they both returned to Nie Zhui's villa, each retreating to their own rooms. Nie Langyuan found this completely baffling; what were they thinking? Were they planning to keep an eye on each other?
Nie Langyuan had intended to return to his own place, but given the circumstances and the fresh arrival of his fiancée, he decided to stay. During this troubling time, he thought that perhaps observing this father-son duo at odds might lighten his mood.
On the day of the banquet, Yun Zhi Yue deliberately chose an ice-blue gown that contrasted sharply with the fiery colors of the Phoenix Family. She even had her brother wear a light-colored suit, creating a strikingly cool appearance for the three siblings, specifically designed to counteract any fiery atmosphere and provoke a reaction.
Yun Shijiu adjusted his watch and straightened his tie, visibly excited. "Sister, is it true that the Feng Family is really a nest of phoenixes? Can we pluck some feathers to make a quilt?"
Yun Zhi Yue rolled her eyes as she put on her earrings. "What are you thinking? This is a small Dimension. The World Will isn't just something you can mess with; it's bound by rules and can't be easily manipulated."
"Those people can only embody a part of themselves; they reverse-engineer the rules to erase all human impressions of the Feng Family. They can't just give you feathers."
Yun Shijiu scoffed. "How arrogant! They can wipe out an entire human race without a second thought, as if souls mean nothing. And they call themselves divine beasts? I’m more sacred than they are!"
Yue Shi shook his head. "It's just a difference in perspective. To them, being killed by a phoenix is probably seen as an honor. They view humans as mere ants beneath their notice."
The day was set for a grand banquet; if they wanted to make a name for themselves in the capital, they had to establish connections with influential figures. If Feng Rujiao made things difficult for Yun Zhi Yue at the banquet, it would serve as both humiliation and a statement of the Feng Family's stance.
This would block their paths forward; Feng Rujiao wanted to show them that her position was unshakeable. Killing one of her subordinates wouldn't faze her in the slightest.
"Oh really? If one isn't enough, then let's keep going until we take her down! I don't believe she won't flinch!" Yun Shijiu sneered.
Yun Zhi Yue sighed. "In this world, we must act according to its rules. Resorting to violence isn't wise; it would only create a rift in this Dimension, and the World Will won't stand idly by."
"When we do act, we must do so discreetly and efficiently without drawing attention. This is like a mini version of Nai He Bridge; when we strike, we must ensure that our enemies are completely obliterated."
Two small vintage arch bridges resembling keychains appeared in Yun Zhi Yue's palm, which she handed to her brothers.
Yun Shijiu took one and examined it closely. "Sister, when you said we shouldn't kill anyone earlier, I thought you were being soft-hearted! But now you're talking about annihilating souls—hahaha! You're truly my sister!"
Yun Zhi Yue smiled brightly. "Times have changed. With Song Huai Mingfu establishing roots and the Dimension and World Will on our side, we have everything in our favor. It would be a shame not to seize this opportunity."
Yue Shi played with his mini Nai He Bridge, frowning slightly. "The World Will has contacted you, sister; it seems like we're being treated as pawns. I'm worried it might stab us in the back."
Yun Zhi Yue chuckled. "That entity is already in a desperate situation because of the Phoenix Clan; it's done things it shouldn't have done. This gives us leverage—it wouldn't dare betray us or I'd report it to the underworld, and then its troubles would truly begin."
With a smirk, she added, "The World Will has committed great sins; this leverage is more than enough for us."
Sister Three tidied up before stepping out, ready to face Feng Rujiao at what promised to be an exciting banquet!
