For some reason, despite their closeness, he still felt unsatisfied, longing to relive the softness he had once touched and could never forget.
As he thought of her, he acted on impulse. The moment he leaned in, Nie Xi's kiss became possessive, as if he wanted to devour her whole, fierce and relentless.
"Um, you’re so indulgent with Nie Xi," she thought, feeling the heat of his gaze on her.
"Sister, you're so beautiful," he murmured.
"Beautiful or not, why are you biting me?"
Yun Zhi Yue struggled in pain, cursing Nie Xi to get lost. Yet he seemed to revel in her mixture of agony and embarrassment, holding her tightly as if to savor the moment.
"Softly now: Sister, Nie Zhui is old. Being with him will only disgust you; it’s better to be with me, right?"
Yun Zhi Yue's cheeks flushed a captivating shade of red as she retorted sarcastically, "There are plenty of younger boys around. Handsome, wealthy, and single older men are hard to come by."
"Besides, you won’t live long anyway; you have no plans to survive. I don’t want Nie Zhui; I want you. No matter how you think about it, it’s a loss for me."
Nie Xi narrowed his eyes. "Who said I don’t plan to live? I used to think it didn’t matter whether I lived or died, but after meeting you, I’ve changed my mind."
"Maybe I still have to die, but before I do, I want you to die first. Just the thought of you getting close to someone else after I'm gone makes me feel pain everywhere; it makes me want to kill and destroy the world."
Yun Zhi Yue flinched at his words. "I’m being kind by spending time with you, and now you're holding a grudge? If you die, do I have to go with you? Is that reasonable?"
Nie Xi replied seriously, "It doesn’t need to be reasonable. Everyone has their fate; your fate is to meet me and then be controlled by me."
It was pointless trying to reason with someone like him; his thought process was simply different.
Yun Zhi Yue decided to abandon the argument entirely and lazily sprawled on the bed. "Is the bed warm enough? If it is, I'll leave."
As his gaze wandered dangerously over her curves, Nie Xi kissed along her spine where her back curved delicately. "Not warm enough."
"Ugh, you're really spoiled."
She retaliated with a swift motion that silenced him completely.
Yun Zhi Yue picked up her clothes and slipped them on while casting him a sidelong glance. "You’re not foolish; you know there’s no such thing as kindness without reason in this world. Our entanglement isn’t something easy to discuss."
"But let me remind you of one thing: our Sister Three isn’t an ordinary human being. Living in this house requires a bit more nerve; otherwise, you might get scared to death."
With a loud bang, the door slammed shut behind her. Nie Xi pondered over the phrase “not an ordinary human.” Just how extraordinary could it be?
This villa had three floors; Yun Zhi Yue occupied the entire third floor while Yue Shi and Shijiu were on the second floor. For now, Nie Xi had also been assigned to the second floor while the first floor remained unoccupied.
In the deep night, the moonlight was obscured by clouds; what was already a starless night became even darker than ink.
Yet, even in such darkness, there were black ripples darker than the night itself, seeping through the cracks of the building and into the villa.
After spreading through every room on the first floor, they gradually climbed the staircase to the second floor, beginning their sweep from the first room.
Due to being suppressed in the position of the third brother, Yun Shijiu had an obsession with the first room on the second floor, which he had forcefully claimed as his own.
As strange fluctuations filled the room, Yun Shijiu, who had been lost in slumber, opened his eyes. His vertically slit yellow pupils met with anyone's gaze, instilling a sense of fear; there was not a trace of humanity in them.
His crimson lips curled into a sinister smile, seemingly intrigued by this audacious intruder.
From beneath the covers, his legs began to stretch and elongate, spilling out from under the blanket.
