Jiang Chen spent over an hour going through the script roughly, while Jiang Luyi thoughtfully prepared a pen for him to mark any unsatisfactory parts, so that she could have them modified later. The script was decent, but it had its flaws, especially with a few clichéd love stories that made Jiang Chen shake his head in disapproval.
"Remove these love story plots; just keep one. The movie doesn't have much time, and the main focus should be on the grand scenes. We need to use special effects to present the situation in the Mountain and Sea Secret Realm. Take it back and revise it; bring it to me next month," Jiang Chen said. He was determined to finalize the movie this year since filming a movie requires time—possibly two years—and he could not afford to wait any longer. He planned to secure the Divine Bone Order from British Bloodline around August or September, at which point he would spend some time finalizing the movie.
"Alright, Mr. Jiang. Do you have suitable candidates for the actors, especially for the leading roles?" Jiang Luyi asked.
"I already have someone in mind for the female lead; the others can be decided by you," Jiang Chen replied.
"Uh, I'm not very familiar with actors either. How about next month, once the script is finalized, I gather all the actors for you to see? Also, according to your vision, Mr. Jiang, there will be many martial arts scenes in the film, and I fear many actors won't be able to perform them well. You know how few skilled martial artists there are nowadays; most are just young idols with little acting ability, let alone martial arts skills," Jiang Luyi explained.
"I have arrangements for martial artists; let's first confirm some of the main roles. Just as you suggested, next month or the month after, when I have time, you can arrange for them to meet me. Since we are making a movie, we must ensure it's a good one—this film is very important," Jiang Chen emphasized.
While Jiang Chen was discussing matters with Jiang Luyi, Ding Yan was with Ye Ming. Ding Yan curiously asked Ye Ming about his cultivation techniques that seemed so impressive. Ye Ming did not hide anything; after all, Ding Yan would be one of their own in the future.
"You mean you are cultivating immortality?" Ding Yan asked in disbelief after hearing Ye Ming's explanation.
"My master says so; our current cultivation is indeed about becoming immortal," Ye Ming replied honestly.
Ding Yan thought this sounded exaggerated; it was probably just a method of Huaxia Daoism that Jiang Chen referred to as immortality.
"Are there really immortals in this world?" Ding Yan questioned.
"My master says there are," Ye Ming answered seriously.
"Then is your master an immortal?" Ding Yan pressed further.
"In my opinion, my master is an immortal, but he says he isn't yet," Ye Ming said.
Ding Yan grew increasingly puzzled; she naturally did not believe Ye Ming's words and found it hard to accept that there were any deities in this world.
"Ding Yan, don't you believe it?" Ye Ming asked when he noticed her complex expression.
"Uh..." Ding Yan was momentarily at a loss for words.
"Ding Yan, you'll believe it eventually," Ye Ming assured her.
After finishing his discussion with Jiang Luyi, Jiang Chen personally escorted her down the mountain. Upon returning to Quiet Villa, Ye Ming rushed over to inform him that two assassins had come to Quiet Villa yesterday but were drained of blood by Blood Corpse before they could set up an ambush and turned into zombies.
Jiang Chen knew that those pursuing Ding Yan would eventually find this place but hadn't expected it to happen so quickly.
"We don't need to keep those two zombies. Chen Zhi, I instructed you last time to set up the Spirit Fire Formation; go ahead and try it out—burn them," Jiang Chen ordered.
