Chen Ming had escaped, but the organization's conspiracy continued. My eyes were not only the key to opening the "door" but also the last barrier protecting two worlds. Ever since Lin Xiaoyu's soul merged with my right eye, my life had undergone a tremendous transformation.
At first, this change was positive—I could see ghost more clearly and even briefly borrow their abilities. But soon, the side effects began to manifest. My right eye often uncontrollably glimpsed scenes from another world: a purple sky, glowing plants, and those wandering, eerie creatures. Worse still, I started to lose the ability to distinguish between reality and illusion. Sometimes I would suddenly find myself standing on a strange street, surrounded by distorted buildings and translucent crowds, only to return to reality moments later.
"Xu Rong, are you okay?" Lin Xiaoyu's voice echoed in my mind. After her soul fused with my eye, we established a special connection.
"Not so good," I replied, rubbing my burning right eye. "I keep feeling like something bad is about to happen..."
Just then, a sharp pain shot through my right eye. My vision was filled with countless cracks, like shattered glass. Through these fissures, I glimpsed scenes from another world: those eerie creatures were crashing against the "door," trying to break through the boundary.
"The boundary is weakening," Lin Xiaoyu's voice was filled with concern. "If the 'door' is broken, the two worlds will merge..."
Suddenly, my phone rang. It was an unfamiliar number, but I instinctively knew who was calling.
"Xu Rong,"
Chen Ming's voice came through the receiver, "Do you think destroying the ritual will end it? No, this is just the beginning."
My right eye began to heat up again, and a vision appeared before me:
Chen Ming stood before a massive altar, surrounded by dozens of One-Eyed Men. Their right eyes glowed with an eerie red light as they channeled energy into the altar.
"We will force open the 'door,'"
Chen Ming said, "and you will become the final sacrifice..."
The call abruptly cut off, and a sharp pain shot through my right eye.
When I opened my eyes again, I found myself standing in a strange basement.
This was not an illusion—I had been transported by some force to the organization's secret base.
Chen Ming stood at the altar, a glowing red Lychee embedded in his eye socket.
"Welcome to the final ceremony,"
he grinned, "your eyes will help us complete the last step..."
I wanted to run, but my body moved uncontrollably toward the altar.
Blood began to flow from my right eye, and countless golden threads appeared in my vision, attempting to control my movements.
"Xu Rong, listen to me,"
Lin Xiaoyu's voice suddenly became clear, "Our fusion is not a coincidence. Your eyes need my soul to activate their true power..."
I felt a warm energy surge from the depths of my eye, and the golden threads in my vision suddenly snapped.
A new ability awakened within me—I could not only see the flow of energy but also manipulate it.
"Impossible!"
Chen Ming screamed, "How could you possibly..."
I didn’t give him a chance to finish.
Raising my hand, a beam of golden light shot from my right eye, shattering the Crystal Bowls on the altar.
The entire basement began to tremble as cracks appeared in the walls, and purple light seeped through the fissures.
"You've lost your mind!" Chen Ming exclaimed, looking around in panic. "This will completely shatter the boundaries between the two worlds!"
