In the deep of night, the lights in the the Qin Family's reception hall remained unchanged, yet devoid of warmth. An oppressive atmosphere lingered in the air, as if it were on the verge of eruption. Qin Yao stood at the center of the hall, surrounded by a long table filled with everything needed for the Gambling Stone—each piece of jade was tightly wrapped, as if awaiting its fateful judgment.
As Qin Yao prepared, she scanned the elders seated around the table. Qin Zhaoguang occupied the main seat, exuding a steady aura that suggested the entire family's future rested in his hands. Beside him, Qin Hong wore his usual confident smile, the corners of his mouth slightly upturned, as if he had already seen through it all.
Li Haowen, representing external forces, also held a place in this Gambling Game. His eyes remained fixed on Qin Yao, a glint of amusement in them, as if he already knew how everything would unfold.
“Qin Yao, are you really sure about this?” Shen Siya asked softly from behind her, concern lacing her voice. She understood that Qin Yao was always calculating, but tonight's matter concerning the Gambling Stone was no trivial affair.
A faint smile graced Qin Yao's lips as she turned to face her. “I never do anything without confidence.” The calmness in her words momentarily stunned Shen Siya. She had always known Sister Yao to be wise and composed, but tonight's determination felt particularly extraordinary.
“Alright then, let’s begin.” Qin Zhaoguang finally spoke up, his voice deep and carrying an undeniable authority. “Tonight’s Gambling Stone is not only about the future of our family but also about each of your fates.”
Qin Yao nodded slightly, acknowledging her father's words. She stood before the table, calmly directing the staff to unwrap each piece of jade, demonstrating that everything was under her control. Her movements were fluid and graceful, as if this were a familiar stage rather than a perilous Gambling Game.
Li Haowen sat nearby, a sneer curling at his lips. “Ha, how amusing it is to let an outsider direct this Gambling Game.”
Ignoring his provocation, Qin Yao’s gaze sharpened like a blade as she scrutinized each piece of jade. They appeared ordinary at first glance but concealed countless secrets within. Closing her eyes to focus her mind, she awakened her X-Ray Vision power at that moment, feeling as though no secret could escape her sight.
“Qin Yao, you really are audacious to bring these out for betting,” Qin Hong mocked, disdain evident in his eyes. “Do you think your little X-Ray Vision is enough to dominate the Gambling Stone world?”
Qin Yao smiled slightly, unperturbed. “How would I know the outcome without trying?”
She slowly set down the jade in her hand and fixed her gaze on the largest Gambling Stone, already formulating her plan. She understood that the outcome of this Gambling Game would determine whether she could establish herself within this family. Moreover, she knew that the Gambling Stone represented not just a contest of wealth but also a struggle for power.
"Alright, since everyone is ready, let's begin," Qin Zhaoguang said, glancing at everyone before his gaze finally settled on Qin Yao, as if waiting for her decision.
"Start," Qin Yao replied coolly.
With her command, all eyes turned to the Gambling Stone table. Shen Siya stood to the side, her mood tense. She knew that today's situation was far more complicated than she had anticipated.
"Do you think you can win?" Li Haowen spoke again, this time his tone was no longer dismissive but laced with a hint of threat. His gaze was fixed on Qin Yao, as if trying to see through her very soul.
"If you don't try, how would you know?" Qin Yao raised an eyebrow and retorted, her voice carrying a note of provocation.
Li Haowen smiled slightly, seemingly uninterested in further debate with her. Instead, he coldly surveyed each piece of stone on the Gambling Stone table. "Even if you win, so what? This is merely a power struggle; the true victor will be determined by who ultimately holds the control of the family."
Qin Yao remained unfazed as she stared back at him. "Control is never given; it must be fought for." Her words were calm yet struck like a ticking bomb in the hearts of those present.
After a moment of silence, Qin Zhaoguang suddenly spoke up, "Let's get started, Li Haowen. Aren't you going to show your cards?"
Li Haowen did not respond immediately; instead, a slight smile played on his lips, exuding confidence in this Gambling Game. He gently picked up a piece of jade, his expression indifferent. "Then let me go first."
He placed the jade on the table and examined it closely before seeming satisfied. "This piece contains a rare green core; it's definitely worth the gamble."
Qin Yao nodded slightly. Although she recognized that Li Haowen's choice seemed promising, her confidence remained unshaken.
"Alright, now it's my turn," Qin Yao said in a cool tone as she delicately picked up the largest piece of jade with her fingertips.
Everyone turned to her, and Li Haowen's gaze was still filled with disdain. "Is this the stone? Qin Yao, are you overconfident in yourself?"
Qin Yao remained composed, her calm demeanor unwavering. "I never rely on luck." Before she finished speaking, her X-Ray Vision activated once more. An invisible force penetrated the surface of the jade, and in an instant, she saw the patterns and cracks within the stone.
Li Haowen's expression shifted slightly; he wasn't a fool and understood that Qin Yao, with her X-Ray Vision ability, could uncover any secret hidden within the stone. However, he hadn't anticipated that Qin Yao would grasp the situation so precisely this time.
"You really have some skill," Li Haowen scoffed, though a hint of panic flickered in his eyes.
Qin Yao smiled faintly. "This is the true thrill of Gambling Stone."
The Gambling Game gradually reached a fever pitch, and the air was thick with tension. Everyone awaited the final outcome, while there was no hesitation left in Qin Yao's gaze. She knew that this was not just about Gambling Stone; it was a crucial battle for her family's future.
