Chen Zhixing let out a bitter laugh. "How would I know? She never told me. Wait a minute, I married your mother first, didn't she get a marriage certificate for her first marriage?"
"Ah, don't listen to your mom. You mustn't take the blame. You're going to college this year; you can't get into trouble," Chen Yu replied with a chuckle.
"I know, that's why I sent my mom in," he said.
After buying the next available train ticket, Chen Zhixing returned home that night. Once he figured out the whole situation, he felt a surge of anger. He went to the detention center to visit Duan Xia and made it clear that once she got out, they would be getting a divorce.
The next morning at the detention center, Liu Ru Yan suddenly felt a wave of nausea wash over her. She tightly covered her mouth, trying to suppress the overwhelming urge to vomit. But in the end, she couldn't hold it back and bent over to gag.
This scene caught the attention of Xiao Xie, a staff member on patrol. Xiao Xie paused for a moment before quickly approaching her with concern. "Liu Ru Yan, are you okay? Do you feel unwell?"
Liu Ru Yan looked up, her face pale as she forced a smile and shook her head. But as soon as she moved, she felt the urge to gag again.
Noticing her condition, Xiao Xie immediately realized something was wrong. He quickly contacted the medical office and helped Liu Ru Yan sit down while softly asking her questions.
Soon after, the doctor from the medical office arrived on the scene. After a thorough examination and some questions, the doctor confirmed that Liu Ru Yan was in the early stages of pregnancy and experiencing morning sickness.
The news shocked everyone present, including Liu Ru Yan, whose surprise was greater than anyone else's. The doctor then provided Liu Ru Yan with some advice on alleviating morning sickness and reminded her to pay attention to her diet and rest.
As Liu Ru Yan gradually came to terms with the shock, she felt a sweet sensation in her heart; this was the fruit of her love with Xiao Jiba. However, joy quickly turned into worry as it seemed that this baby had come at an inconvenient time.
Seeing that she was lost in thought, the doctor sighed softly and left. Xiao Xie reported Liu Ru Yan's pregnancy to their superiors, who after careful consideration decided to notify Liu Ru Yan's parents to take her home under surveillance.
When her parents heard this news, it felt like a bolt from the blue. Being detained was one thing; now they had to deal with an unplanned pregnancy too—what an embarrassment!
After bringing Liu Ru Yan home and locking the door tightly, they pressed her about who the father of the child was and demanded that she terminate the pregnancy immediately. At first, Liu Ru Yan refused to say anything; this child was the result of her love with Xiao Jiba.
Father Liu delivered a sharp slap, causing Liu Ru Yan to burst into tears, refusing to go to the hospital no matter what. However, what hurt her even more was that her mother, who had never been harsh with her throughout her life, was giving her the cold shoulder.
Seeing that her parents were determined to take her to the hospital, Liu Ru Yan felt defeated. She worried about her parents causing a scene at Xiao Jiba's house, especially since Xiao Jiba was currently in a precarious situation himself. If her parents stirred up trouble, it would only complicate matters further. With both families at odds, how could she and Xiao Jiba ever get married?
On another note, Liu Ru Yan was also extremely displeased that Chen Yu had refused to take the blame for Xiao Jiba. This fueled her desire for revenge against him.
"It's Chen Yu's," she said, wiping away her tears and looking pitiful.
Upon hearing this revelation, the Liu family was taken aback. Based on what they had learned yesterday, they were already convinced that the child in their daughter's womb was likely Xiao Jiba's; they just wanted her to admit it herself. They never expected their daughter to be involved with two men simultaneously.
Liu Ru Yan looked at her stunned parents and added, "Xiao Jiba has been so good to me; he wouldn’t even dare touch me. It was Chen Yu who assaulted me."
Suddenly, the couple's faces turned red with anger as alarm bells rang in their minds.
"That heartless beast dared to do such a thing! I will make sure he goes to jail!"
The furious Liu couple stormed out of their home and banged on Chen Yu's door.
Chen Zhixing opened the door and immediately sensed the hostility in their demeanor. He himself wore a grim expression. He had learned from the police about Liu Ru Yan and Duan Xia encouraging his precious son to take the blame.
He gave them a cold glance and spoke dismissively, "What do you want at my house? I haven't settled things with you yet, but here you are knocking on my door."
Father Liu pushed him aside and peered into the room. "You little beast, come out here!"
Chen Zhixing felt his face flush at those words. "Who are you calling names?"
Father Liu sneered. "Your good son got my daughter pregnant. What do you intend to do about it?"
Chen Zhixing scoffed in response.
"My son would never do such a thing. Don't you know what kind of person your daughter is? When she was locked up in the detention center, couldn't you go there to find out what was going on? How can you two call yourselves parents?"
"Framing?"
Willow Eyes pulled Liu Ru Yan out from behind her.
"Our daughter is experiencing morning sickness today. They confirmed she is pregnant while she was in the detention center. Are you brave enough to let your little beast come out and confront her?"
Liu Ru Yan cried, tears streaming down her face.
"It was Chen Yu who raped me and got me pregnant."
Chen Zhixing froze for a moment. He knew his son well; Chen Yu had indeed liked Liu Ru Yan for a long time.
As the saying goes, a girl doesn't harbor feelings without reason, and a boy doesn't secretly crush on someone without cause. As long as they didn't cross the line, he didn't want to interfere. After all, he had his own crush back in high school.
But if it turned out to be a moment of impulse that led to a mistake, then the nature of the situation would change completely.
Chen Zhixing's expression softened.
"Let's go inside and sit down."
Father Liu snorted and led his wife and daughter inside. He was also afraid of making a scene that would draw attention from the neighbors, worried about losing face.
"Just tell us how much you plan to compensate. If it's not enough, we will call the police and have your little beast arrested."
Chen Yu yawned as he opened the bedroom door and walked out.
"Who’s making all this noise so early in the morning? Can't anyone let me sleep?"
Mother Liu shot him a fierce glare.
"You still have the nerve to sleep? You raped my daughter, and now she's showing! Let me tell you, you're in big trouble."
Chen Yu's eyes lit up as he covered his mouth to stifle a laugh.
"I got her pregnant? I didn't even know! Well, since you say I did, then let her give birth. We'll do a paternity test later to see if it's really my child."
Chen Yu acted as if he wasn't afraid of making things worse.
"You little brat, don't get ahead of yourself! You think you're going to turn raw rice into cooked rice?"
