With continuous insults and threats, the soldiers lined up the slaves. 0

"Very good, that's it," the captain of the Black Flag Army nodded in satisfaction, then turned and walked towards the temple. He shouted loudly, " High Priest Asa, everything is ready." 0

High Priest Asa walked out from the depths of the temple, draped in a golden robe and wearing a tall headdress, looking very majestic. He slowly approached the slaves and carefully examined them. 0

"Good, this will do," Asa said satisfactorily, then made a gesture to the soldiers. 0

The soldiers immediately pushed the slaves through the gates of the temple. The slaves walked into the temple silently, without daring to resist. The interior of the temple was extremely luxurious, with gold, silver, and precious stones everywhere. But the most striking feature was the statue of the God of Happiness in the central hall. The expression on the statue seemed friendly, but in this environment, it gave off an inexplicable chill. 0

There was a huge window at the top of the hall, and moonlight shone through, casting a sacred glow on the statue of the God of Happiness. In front of the statue, Baron Morgan was kneeling on the ground, with his hands clasped together, seemingly performing some kind of sacred ritual. 0

"Look, this is the God of Happiness, he will bestow upon us infinite power and glory!" Morgan declared loudly, as if wanting everyone to hear his words. 0

High Priest Asa stood behind him, smiling and nodding, as if everything they were about to accomplish was so right and great. 0

But for the slaves brought in, all of this was just the beginning of fear and despair that they could not comprehend. Some of them looked down at their tightly bound hands, as if to remind themselves that no matter what happened here, they were just pawns in this game and could never escape. 0

Baron Morgan slowly stood up, looking smug as he surveyed the forty-four slaves brought into the temple. His gaze was like that of someone examining their treasures, and finally he turned to High Priest Asa and said with satisfaction, "How about it, High Priest Asa? This offering is definitely the best in all of The Kingdom of Asturias this year!" 0

Asa the priest nodded slowly, his eyes observing the slave through his thick priestly robes. "Hmm, indeed, it is quite good. God of Happiness will surely be pleased." 0

Baron Morgan smiled with satisfaction, then loudly commanded, "All slave, kneel immediately!" 0

The soldiers immediately stared closely at each slave, forcing them to submit with cold and intimidating eyes. One soldier even shouted, "Did you hear me? Kneel down quickly!" 0

Oppression and intimidation instantly filled the entire temple. Under the soldiers and Baron Morgan's intimidation, forty-four slaves reluctantly knelt down. At that moment, the statue of the God of Happiness appeared even more sacred in the moonlight, but for these deprived slaves, that sanctity was nothing but another layer of irony and cruelty. 0

In the central hall of the temple, Baron Morgan and High Priest Asa exchanged a glance, as if silently celebrating the excellent offering they were about to present to the God of Happiness. 0

"Listen well, you pitiful, insignificant creatures," he spoke, his voice filled with superiority and disdain. 0

"In the great kingdom of Asturia, you are born destined to be lowly, because you cannot receive the blessings of the four gods. It's not your fault, it's fate," he deliberately drew out the last syllable, each word like a heavy bomb exploding in the heart of every slave. 0

He turned slowly, his gaze sweeping over this group of emaciated people. "But even so, today I have decided to give you a rare opportunity." 0

His tone suddenly softened, even carrying a strange warmth. "Today, I will specially allow you to become a part of the God of Happiness miracle. You will offer your own flesh, not only to free yourselves from your miserable fate, but also to bring me and High Priest Asa closer to ascension, to become immortal beings." 0

Baron Morgan walked up to one of the young slaves, bowing his head to look at him, as if examining a piece of merchandise. "You should feel honored. You are helping us and redeeming yourselves." 0

He paused for a moment, as if waiting for the impact of his words to sink in, then proudly declared, "Truth be told, I really can't think of any other way for you slave to achieve such great accomplishments in this brief and worthless life." 0

Each word was enunciated with such clarity, like a cold knife mercilessly piercing the heart of every listener. 0

As soon as Baron Morgan finished speaking, High Priest Asa standing on the side revealed an ecstatic expression. He added with an extremely devout tone, "Sinners! You are blessed! You should be grateful, this is a rare opportunity, a chance for you to escape the fate of suffering and hardship!" 0

As Asa the priest spoke, he couldn't help but be moved to tears. He clearly believed that this chilling ritual was a sacred elevation for him and Baron Morgan. 0

Baron Morgan was quite satisfied with the priest's reaction, he smiled slightly and then clapped his hands gently. The soldiers immediately took action, bringing the thirty-four slaves at the front of the line to the altar of the God of Happiness. 0

Alan and his sister Eilena happened to be the last two in the slave line. Seeing the slaves in front being taken away one by one, Alan couldn't help but feel a very faint glimmer of hope. Although he knew that the current situation was extremely unfavorable for them, he still wanted to hold onto that last bit of hope, hoping for a turn of events to spare him and his sister from the impending tragedy. 0
