The first spring snow of the year fell yesterday. Since it was an untimely snow, from the moment it began to drift down, it was destined to melt into water as soon as it touched the ground. This morning, the sky was clear and peaceful, completely unaffected by yesterday's heavy snowfall. The sunlight was dazzling, but that was an illusion, for the wind still cut through like a knife. Just as what one sees is not always the truth, only what one feels is truly reliable. 0

Yang Qianfan rarely woke up early for school. After finishing breakfast and stepping out of Lao Jiu's shop, he noticed an elderly woman leaning on a cane at the roadside, hesitating as she watched the endless stream of vehicles pass by. It seemed she wanted to cross the street but was too frail to do so alone. Seeing this, Yang Qianfan thought he might as well help her since he was planning to cross the road himself; it would be a good deed. 0

As he approached her and prepared to speak, a white van suddenly darted out from a side street, nearly hitting the old woman. Startled by the large vehicle that appeared before her, she instinctively took a big step back but lost her balance and fell. The driver, seeing her on the ground, immediately leaned out of the window in concern and asked if she was alright. However, upon seeing him, the old woman became agitated and started crying uncontrollably. Mistaking her distress for a ploy to extort money, the driver panicked and quickly drove away. 0

Yang Qianfan was furious at this scene and shouted at the fleeing van in indignation. He then helped the elderly woman to the hospital. After a check-up, the doctor confirmed that she had sustained serious injuries; one of her legs was broken and required surgery. Yang Qianfan stayed at the hospital with her until her son arrived before he felt relieved enough to leave for school. 0

He had initially planned not to be late today, but due to this unexpected incident on his way, he arrived much later than usual. As soon as he entered the school gate, he was caught by Principal Niu, who had been waiting for him. Without asking for an explanation for his tardiness, Principal Niu scolded him harshly. Feeling wronged, Yang Qianfan recounted how he had helped the old woman that morning, but Principal Niu did not believe him and assumed he was making up excuses again. As punishment, he ordered Yang Qianfan to run twenty laps around the playground. 0

Yang Qianfan thought that finishing those twenty laps would be the end of it; however, it turned out to be just the beginning of a nightmare. Soon after, the old woman's son arrived at the school with police officers, pointing at Yang Qianfan and accusing him of being the one who pushed his mother down. Yang Qianfan felt outraged and wanted to explain himself, but no one in the school believed in his innocence—not even Zhu Hui. Faced with accusations from everyone around him, he stood there speechless while they condemned him without mercy. It infuriated him that despite having done a good deed for once in his life, he found himself being vilified instead. The thought that the old woman would repay his kindness with such betrayal made his anger boil over. 0

In a fit of rage, he confronted the old woman's son and punched him hard while demanding to know why he was being framed. Before he could get an answer from him, police officers intervened and pulled him away. They held onto him tightly and took him directly to the police station for questioning. Yang Qianfan remained there until just before school let out in the afternoon when he finally returned to school. But things were far from over; Principal Niu deemed him a bad influence and began considering expelling him to protect the school's reputation. 0
