“Is Teacher Chen really that scary?” Zhu Hui murmured to herself, looking at Yu Hong, who had already run far away, with a puzzled expression. 0

Yang Qianfan, seeing her silly demeanor, put on an air of knowing everything and sneered at her, “Let me teach you a formula: when a man encounters a beautiful woman, it equals ‘chase’; when he encounters an ugly woman, it equals ‘run away.’ Women like you belong to the type that men run from.” 0

“Is that so? Well, let me teach you a formula too.” Zhu Hui scoffed dismissively at him and said with a sneer, “When a woman meets a handsome guy, it equals ‘chase’; when she meets a scoundrel—this is what should happen.” As she said “this is what should happen,” her gaze sharpened, and with gritted teeth, she kicked him unexpectedly. Then, using her usual tactic, she dashed away in a flash. 0

Yang Qianfan let out a piercing scream as her sudden kick caught him off guard. The pain made the veins on his forehead bulge out in a crisscross pattern, and his thunderous roar shook the entire teaching building. 0

Liao Chengwei's condition had been deteriorating recently. Despite this, his family could no longer bear the high medical expenses due to financial constraints and had no choice but to transfer him from Tongji Hospital to the more affordable Zhongliu Hospital. Upon hearing the news of Liao Chengwei's transfer, Zhu Hui felt very sad. She had intended to gather more money before handing it over to Liao Mama, but now it seemed time was of the essence. 0

With no classes in the afternoon, she took advantage of the free time to secretly visit Liao Chengwei at Zhongliu Hospital with the donations she had collected from playing music. She also planned to give the money to Liao Mama to help alleviate some of her financial pressure. 0

The environment in Zhongliu Hospital was not as grand as Tongji Hospital’s five or six-star international standards, but it still had a certain rugged charm popular these days. The gray walls resembled ancient tombstones, etched with scars left by history. The solemn atmosphere made one hold their breath in respect. In contrast, the honor plaques hanging on the walls symbolizing glory seemed untouched by time; each one shone brightly and radiantly. The medical equipment in the hospital was also impressive—there were probably only a few like them in the world—making them appear fresh and unique. Upon closer inspection of their manufacturing dates, it turned out they were rare antiques. 0

Zhu Hui had never been to this hospital before. Once inside, she felt like a headless fly, bumping around for quite some time without finding the inpatient department. 0

Suddenly, heavy rain began to pour down. Seeing how fierce the rain was, Zhu Hui instinctively covered her head and dashed into a parking shed for shelter. Just as she stepped inside, a tall and handsome boy around fifteen or sixteen years old followed her in to escape the rain. Zhu Hui looked at him and politely smiled slightly, thinking it might be worth asking this boy where the inpatient department was; perhaps he would know. With that thought in mind, she initiated a conversation with him to inquire about the location of the inpatient department. 0

The boy was very helpful and pointed toward a tall building ahead where the inpatient department was located. 0

Following his direction, Zhu Hui stood on tiptoe to get a better view. After confirming the exact location of the inpatient department, she turned back and thanked him politely. 0

“Is your relative hospitalized here?” the boy suddenly asked. 0

“No... it's not; it's my classmate who is hospitalized here,” Zhu Hui quickly shook her head. 0

“Oh really?” The boy grinned widely at her, revealing a mouthful of neat white teeth. 0

“Are you here to visit your classmate as well?” Zhu Hui asked curiously. 0

“No, not really. I’m here to see my cousin; he’s hospitalized here,” the boy replied. 0

“Oh, I see. I wish your cousin a speedy recovery!” 0

“Thank you for your kind wishes. I also hope your classmate gets well and can leave the hospital soon.” 0

“Thanks!” 0

The boy looked her up and down with curiosity and then asked, “Which school do you go to? Did you graduate this year?” After he asked, he couldn’t help but smile proudly, saying, “I just graduated from middle school, and next month I’ll be starting high school.” 0

Zhu Hui felt a surge of irritation at this young boy, who had the audacity to ask if she had graduated while acting all smug in front of her. She was almost overwhelmed with frustration. 0

“I graduated years ago; next year will be my first year in college,” Zhu Hui said with a wry smile, feeling quite helpless. 0

“Wait, what? You’re already in your senior year?” The boy’s eyes widened in surprise as he looked at her. 0

“Yes, even though my appearance might surprise you, there’s no need to look at me like I’m some old hag,” Zhu Hui replied with a chuckle, feeling a bit embarrassed. 0

“I didn’t mean it that way; please don’t misunderstand,” the boy said, equally awkward and forcing a smile. 0

Summer rain always comes and goes quickly. It didn’t last long before the clouds dispersed and the sun revealed its warm smile. Zhu Hui and the boy walked together toward the inpatient department. As they reached the entrance, the boy suddenly asked, “Which floor is your classmate on?” 0

“The sixth floor,” Zhu Hui answered. 0

“The sixth floor? My cousin is on the sixth floor too!” The boy nodded happily. 0

"Really? What a coincidence!" 0

"Which room does your classmate stay in on the sixth floor?" he asked curiously. 0

"Room 60." 0

"Room 60? My cousin is also in that room!" The boy became even more excited and asked, "Does your classmate also have leukemia?" 0

"Yes! How did you know?" Zhu Hui asked, puzzled. 0

"Everyone in that room is a leukemia patient." 0

"Oh, I see." Zhu Hui paused, suddenly remembering something. Her heart tightened as she nervously asked, "What is your cousin's last name?" 0

"It's Liao! What about your classmate?" the boy countered. 0

"Also Liao." Zhu Hui lowered her eyelashes and replied calmly, thinking to herself that this boy was actually Liao Chengwei's cousin. 0

"Your classmate's last name is also Liao?" The boy's eyes widened in surprise. 0

"Yes, what a coincidence!" 0

"What’s his full name?" The boy couldn't help but ask. 0

"Whatever your cousin's name is, that's his name too," Zhu Hui said with a wry smile. 0

"What? They even have the same name? It can't really be that coincidental!" The boy looked at her with skepticism. 0

"Yes, it's quite a coincidence that it's the same person." 0

"Could it be that your classmate is my cousin?" 0

"Yes, you just figured it out now," Zhu Hui said with a forced smile, shrugging her shoulders. 0

"That's great! My cousin isn't very popular, so he rarely has classmates visit him. Do you believe that when he sees you, he'll be overwhelmed with emotion?" The young man pondered for a moment and couldn't help but smile happily. 0

"Really? But I feel like he’ll be so 'excited' to see me that he might just faint," Zhu Hui said, shivering slightly at his earnest expression. A chilling sensation washed over her, reminiscent of the time Liao Chengwei had nearly coughed up blood from excitement upon seeing her. 0

"Excited and moved are pretty much the same thing. Anyway, my cousin will definitely be very happy to see you." 0

"Let’s hope so!" Zhu Hui replied, her bitter smile becoming even more awkward. 0

"Oh, by the way, what's your name? Maybe my cousin has mentioned you in front of me before?" The young man suddenly seemed to remember something and asked again. 0

"I believe he must have mentioned me; I could describe my feelings for him as 'deeply etched in my heart.'" 0

"Deeply etched in your heart? Then what exactly is your name?" The young man's brow furrowed as he thought Zhu Hui might be his cousin's girlfriend. 0

"I’m the detestable class monitor, Zhu Hui." 0

"What? You're the Winter Melon Class Leader that my cousin often talks about?" The young man was taken aback upon realizing she was Zhu Hui, his jaw dropping in surprise. 0

"Yes, I am indeed the Winter Melon Class Leader he frequently mentions," Zhu Hui said with a sigh of resignation. 0

"So the arrogant woman my cousin talks about is actually you," the young man thought to himself, his gaze toward Zhu Hui sharpening as his attitude shifted from warm to distant. 0

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to call you a winter melon," he said curtly. 0

"It's fine, they all call me that anyway; I've gotten used to it," she replied. 0

After exchanging a few more awkward words, they found themselves at Liao Chengwei's hospital room door. Zhu Hui suddenly stopped and hesitated for a moment before asking the boy, "Could you help me call Liao Chengwei's mother out?" 0

"Aren't you going in?" the boy asked with a hint of curiosity, his gaze revealing a trace of malice. 0

"I... I can't go in. He would definitely... definitely get very agitated when he sees me," Zhu Hui stammered. 0

"Are you feeling guilty about something and afraid to go in? Or are you just too ashamed to face him?" the boy sneered, his tone sharp as if it were laced with gunpowder, ready to ignite. 0

Zhu Hui wasn't foolish; she could tell from the boy's tone that Liao Chengwei had likely filled his ears with all sorts of negative things about her. 0

"That's right, I don't want to go in, and I can't go in, but it's not because I've done anything wrong or because I'm feeling guilty," Zhu Hui said, looking at him with indignation. She felt particularly wronged being ridiculed by someone just a few years younger than herself. "Perhaps your cousin has told you many bad things about me, but I believe I have acted with integrity towards him. As his class monitor, I have fulfilled my responsibilities, and I have done everything expected of me. So there's no need for you to defend him in front of me." 0

The boy shot her a cold glance, clearly dismissing her words as he walked past her toward Liao Chengwei's room. 0

"Hey, wait," Zhu Hui called after him, reminding him, "If you don't want anything to happen to your cousin, it's best not to tell him I'm waiting outside." 0

The boy paused for a moment, thought it over, then turned back and nodded coldly before entering the room. 0

Before long, Liao Chengwei's mother emerged from the room, her face lighting up with joy upon seeing Zhu Hui as if she had found a savior. 0

Zhu Hui was in a bad mood and didn't say much to Liao Mama. After handing over the donation, she quickly made up an excuse about needing to return home early due to family matters. However, just then it started to rain heavily outside. Seeing the downpour intensifying, Liao Mama insisted that Liao Chengwei personally escort Zhu Hui home, but both of them firmly opposed this idea in unison. 0

"What are you doing? Does sending Sister Hui home cost you a piece of flesh?" Liao Mama exclaimed angrily as she raised her hand and gave her nephew a sharp knock on the forehead for his lack of understanding. 0

"I don't see why I should take her home. She has hands and feet; can't she go back by herself?" Liao Chengwei shot Zhu Hui a disdainful glance, his tone far from pleasant. 0

"You dare—" Liao Mama raised her hand in anger, ready to strike him again, but was stopped by Zhu Hui. 0

"Auntie, he's right. I can go back on my own; there's really no need to trouble him," Zhu Hui said, trying to ease Liao Mama's worries. She forced a smile, pretending that it didn't matter to her. 0

"But... but..." 0

"Enough with the 'buts.' You need to take good care of Liao Chengwei and never lose hope in saving him! Don't worry, I'll come back in a couple of days," Zhu Hui reassured her, giving her a gentle smile before turning to leave. 0

"Who cares if that hypocritical person comes back? She'd better not show up again," Liao Chengwei shouted loudly enough for Zhu Hui to hear, deliberately raising his voice several decibels. He wanted to irritate her and poke at her pride. 0

Hearing this, Zhu Hui felt even more wronged. Unable to hold back any longer, she lowered her head and began to cry quietly all the way home. 0
