A month had passed in the blink of an eye, and Yang Qianfan's life continued to be steady and comfortable. Besides going on dates with Li Lingfei, his happiest moments were spent attending Zhu Hui's tutoring sessions. Zhu Hui was a girl who could always create miracles, and Yang Qianfan firmly believed in her. With her humorous words, she could inspire people both visibly and invisibly, turning worries into joy. Her world seemed devoid of sadness; her vibrant smile was always present. It was like a pair of wings that spread warmth and sunshine across the entire world. Even Yang Qianfan, who harbored ulterior motives, gradually became enchanted by her smile, to the point where he forgot about his bet with Hu Yuanji. It wasn't until the night before when Hu Yuanji called to urge him to take action that he suddenly remembered their secret agreement. 0

After school that afternoon, Yang Qianfan sat in the classroom as usual, waiting for Zhu Hui to help him with his studies. However, today Zhu Hui seemed unusually quiet; she hardly spoke or smiled, looking as dejected as a refugee who had missed out on food. Noticing her troubled expression, Yang Qianfan curiously asked, "What's wrong? Did someone boil you? You look so unhappy." 0

"You’re the one who looks boiled! I'm not a crab," Zhu Hui shot back at him with a glare, not holding back. 0

"Hey, I’m just trying to show concern for you. How can you be so ungrateful? Good intentions often go unappreciated," Yang Qianfan frowned and shot her a cold look. 0

Zhu Hui ignored him and simply stared blankly out the window, lost in her thoughts. 0

"Hey, with that look on your face like you're about to die, did you offend too many people? Is someone out for revenge?" Yang Qianfan joked when she remained silent. 0

To his surprise, Zhu Hui became agitated by his question and anxiously asked, "Am I really that annoying?" 0

"Just a little bit," Yang Qianfan said while counting on his fingers with a playful grin. 0

"If even you think so, then I must really have issues!" Zhu Hui lamented, resting her chin on her hand and sighing dejectedly as she furrowed her brow like someone suffering from a toothache. 0

Seeing her like this made Yang Qianfan unable to bear it any longer. He asked with concern, "Hey, what’s really going on with you today? You’re acting so strangely." 0

"I finally mustered the courage to apologize to a classmate today, but he didn’t accept it," Zhu Hui replied gloomily as she rested her head on the desk. 0

"Which guy dares to reject your apology?" Yang Qianfan felt indignant on her behalf. 0

“Alas! You wouldn’t understand,” Zhu Hui sighed in a lamenting tone. 0

“Oh, really?” Yang Qianfan looked at her and couldn’t help but ask, “What exactly did you do wrong that requires an apology?” 0

“Last month, I noticed he hadn’t been coming to school, so I called his home. I just wanted to ask why he wasn’t attending classes. But it turned out his father answered the phone. When his father found out he wasn’t going to school, he got so angry that he kicked him out of the house, and he still hasn’t returned.” 0

Yang Qianfan immediately guessed that the person she was referring to, who was unwilling to accept her apology, was Liao Chengwei, Hu Yuanji’s friend. However, instead of confronting her directly, he sneered and said, “It’s no wonder your classmates don’t like you with how much you meddle in their affairs.” 0

“But I’m the class monitor! It’s my responsibility to look after them,” Zhu Hui insisted firmly. 0

“While it’s true that you should care for them, you need to be more tactful in how you handle things. You can’t just report your classmates to teachers or parents without thinking!” 0

“Report? What report?” Zhu Hui asked, looking confused. 0

“Badmouthing your classmates in front of teachers or parents!” 0

“But I’ve never spoken ill of my classmates in front of teachers or parents!” 0

“You called his home; isn’t that tantamount to reporting him?” 0

“I didn’t say anything bad about him! I was just stating the facts!” 0

“The problem lies in your so-called ‘facts.’” 0

“Is there really something wrong with telling the truth?” 0

“Telling the truth isn’t wrong, but sometimes you have to turn a blind eye to certain things.” 0

“How can that be right? Ignoring what you see is just deceiving yourself!” Zhu Hui became increasingly agitated and stood up in anger. 0

Seeing her stubbornness, Yang Qianfan sighed, “Since you’re so obstinate, I have nothing more to say.” 0

Hearing this, Zhu Hui furrowed her brows and said dejectedly, “It seems I truly am a lonely star; it’s destined that no one will ever like me.” 0

“That’s not necessarily true! I like you!” Yang Qianfan replied, stretching lazily. 0

Upon hearing that Yang Qianfan liked her, Zhu Hui’s face turned crimson, and she quickly lowered her head, too shy to look at him. However, she felt an immense joy inside; after all, she had secretly admired him for so long. 0

Noticing her bashful demeanor, Yang Qianfan thought it was time to give Hu Yuanji an explanation. He flashed her a mischievous smile and said, “My birthday is coming up, and I sincerely invite you to my birthday party. You must come!” 0

As he spoke, he secretly mused to himself, “I’ll take care of you at my birthday party.” 0
