“Mr. Jiang, I told you that the Undying Dragon Clan is not to be trifled with. Do you believe me now?” the old man said, his voice trembling with lingering fear, nearly having met his end inside.
“Not to be trifled with? I didn’t feel anything,” Jiang Chen replied with a smile.
The old man was left speechless by that remark.
Back in the cliffside villa, before the old man could even sit down, a dark aura began to rise from him.
“Oh no, the Undying Dragon Clan is going to blame me! Mr. Jiang, save me!” the old man cried out, his voice filled with despair.
“Master has the mark of the Undying Dragon Clan on him. Now that he has offended them, they definitely won’t let him go. Mr. Jiang, do you have any way to save him?” Ronnie said anxiously, flailing helplessly.
Jiang Chen remained calm as he looked at Jon Delson, who was enveloped in dark energy, a faint smile on his face. The black dragon pattern on Jon Delson’s body was an invasion of resentment from the Undying Dragon Clan, manifesting as a curse. This was something Earthlings could not handle, but for Jiang Chen, it was merely a trivial matter.
Without hesitation, Jiang Chen took action and quickly cleansed the resentment from the old man. With a reluctant roar of a dragon dissipating into silence, the black dragon pattern on Jon Delson’s back completely vanished.
Jon Delson was left dumbfounded by Jiang Chen’s casual demeanor. How could Jiang Chen be so incredibly powerful? A problem that had plagued him for most of his life was resolved just like that? In disbelief, he looked into the mirror repeatedly to confirm that the black dragon pattern had truly disappeared.
“Hahaha!” Suddenly, Jon Delson burst into uncontrollable laughter. The massive weight that had pressed down on him for years was finally lifted; how could he not feel exhilarated?
But soon after, worry clouded his face again.
“Mr. Jiang, now that you’ve eliminated this dark energy, the Undying Dragon Clan will surely be furious. Will they come after me? Honestly, I don’t mind dying, but I’m afraid for my family,” the old man said anxiously.
“Let them rage. They’ve been suppressed here for so many years and are angry every day, but anger won’t solve anything. Unless something unexpected happens, they’ll remain suppressed for another hundred years. You don’t need to worry about it,” Jiang Chen reassured him.
“A hundred years? That long? Well, that’s good,” the old man sighed in relief. He had previously hoped for the Undying Dragon Clan to emerge quickly since his life was in their hands. But now that the dark energy was gone, it meant he no longer had to be enslaved by them; naturally, he didn’t want them to come out anytime soon.
“They might also come out earlier,” Jiang Chen added casually.
The old man tensed up again.
The matter concerning the Undying Dragon Clan had turned out to be an unexpected gain this time.
Jiang Chen now understood the situation well enough. If his rebirth hadn’t altered certain events, based on his memories from his past life, the Undying Dragon Clan wouldn’t break free from their seal within ten years at least. After all, he hadn’t heard any news of the dragon clan appearing in his previous life; perhaps it was because the old man’s sacrifice had failed and didn’t break their seal or maybe they were quietly exterminated by humans upon their emergence. Despite their power, they couldn’t contend with nuclear weapons.
Of course, none of this mattered. Even if Jiang Chen’s rebirth caused a deviation in the world’s trajectory and led to an early appearance of the Undying Dragon Clan, it wouldn’t concern him much. By next year, dealing with them would pose no challenge for him at all; if they emerged, it would provide him with an opportunity to use their organs to craft some spiritual artifacts for his disciples.
