"Here, this is for you."
Shen Chi remained succinct, not adding a single extra word. Despite purchasing such an expensive gift, he maintained an air of nonchalance, as if it were merely a trivial matter.
Su Mingxian: ...
If someone else had acted this way, Su Mingxian might have thought they were trying to play it cool for attention, but Shen Chi was different; he was naturally cool.
Su Mingxian twitched her lips and picked up her phone to take a look. It looked utterly hideous, incomparable to the smartphones of later generations, yet in this era, it was quite luxurious.
"Thanks, but—"
"This is my phone number; make sure to note it down." Without waiting for her to explain, Shen Chi directly pushed his number toward her.
Su Mingxian helplessly glanced at the number, about to speak when she froze again. "51921? You chose this?"
"Yeah, my last digits are 920, just right." Shen Chi nodded casually.
Pfft—
Just right?
Are you sure it wasn't intentional?
"Still 51921?"
Su Mingxian shot him a look of disbelief, noticing his calm demeanor, which only made her frown deeper. With a straightforward man like Shen Chi, she figured he would never understand what romance truly was.
Fang Dahai was more reasonable; it could very well be one of his pranks. After all, Shen Chi wouldn't get it anyway. With that thought, Su Mingxian finally felt a sense of relief.
"I can't accept this; it's too valuable. Let's talk about the divorce instead—I'm serious about this."
"Yes, I know you're serious," Shen Chi replied flatly, then pushed the box back to her. "Just take it; there's no need to be polite. By the way, why did you suddenly ask Fang Dahai about buying a house? Are you planning to buy one?"
He then poured himself a glass of water.
Su Mingxian wasn't sure if he was really listening, but it felt awkward to continue the conversation. It seemed like the more she tried to explain, the worse it got. Still, since he had acknowledged her, she considered her goal achieved.
"Yes, that's the idea," Su Mingxian replied with a nod. She wanted to discuss the house and their daughter Qian Qian's schooling.
But after nodding in response, he fell silent.
No further discussion?
Su Mingxian felt frustrated, a lump forming in her chest as she shot him an irritated glare before turning away to wash up. Clearly, she shouldn't have expected anything from him.
The sooner they divorced, the better.
Yesterday, I went grocery shopping with Aunt Zhao from next door. Although her arrival caused quite a stir, it wasn't without its rewards.
The nearby kindergarten was perfectly timed, and with Aunt Zhao, a local, saying a few words, today she sent over two children directly.
I then headed straight to the address provided by Fang Dahai.
Currently, Pudong is in a booming development phase, exuding a vibrant atmosphere. Following the address, I found the Foreign Sales Housing at Yunqiao International Community.
Today, I wore a fitted plaid long dress paired with leather sandals. Holding a handbag in my hand, my short hair framed my face beautifully, enhancing my fresh and elegant appearance.
I was already quite attractive, and dressed like this, I hardly looked like a mother of two; some might even mistake me for a young girl.
Just as I looked up to take in my surroundings, someone suddenly bumped into me from the side. I had no time to dodge and let out a startled gasp as I fell directly to the ground.
“Ah—”
In that critical moment, I instinctively felt a sharp pain in my nose as I collided with a man's chest.
“Are you okay?” His voice was gentle and filled with concern. Tears welled up in my eyes as I covered my nose and replied hoarsely, “I’m fine, just a bit of pain in my nose. Thank you.”
