The air seemed to carry a different scent. I felt my eyelids growing heavier, and before I knew it, I collapsed onto the bed and fell asleep. In my mind, I cursed. How could you, Mo Cang, resort to such despicable means as using a drug? 0

In my dreams, I found myself back in that place, surrounded by thick, invisible white mist. Previously, in the cave on the mountain, I had seen that person once because of the Swallowing Demon Lord. Now that I returned here, I felt less anxious and walked up to the barrier with a sense of calm. 0

“Who are you? Why are you in my body?” I asked curiously. 0

Slowly, a figure emerged from within the barrier—it was me. The same brows, the same eyes, the same curve of the lips. It felt strange; I couldn’t shake off the feeling that I was just a madman talking to myself in a mirror. 0

The figure inside the barrier said, “I am you. My name is Ling Feng!” 0

I was instantly enraged and shouted, “Who the hell are you?” 0

The person smirked mockingly. “What’s wrong, Dad? Didn’t your master tell you what happened back then?” He took a deep breath and continued, “I can sense a familiar aura. It feels particularly intimate. So you really came here after all?” 0

His cryptic words left me bewildered. “Who are you? What does this have to do with the Evil Spirit Cult?” 0

“Well, not too dumb after all; you figured out my connection to the Evil Spirit Cult?” he laughed. 0

A bad premonition surged within me. So Mo Cang knew everything—he was using Liu Er and Xuan to threaten me and hadn’t acted against me because his ultimate goal was to bring me to the second level of Underground City? What would happen next? I dared not imagine. 0

The figure slammed against the barrier with force, but despite the countless cracks forming on its surface, it remained intact. “It’s all your fault! If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been stuck in this damned place for twenty years.” Then he suddenly grinned sinisterly, his voice sharp as a knife like Ye Xiao’s. “Once I reclaim my body, you’ll know what it feels like to be imprisoned.” 0

Looking at his ferocious face, I instinctively took a few steps back and then jolted upright from bed, realizing that my entire body was drenched in sweat. I lowered my head for a long time; only then did my thoughts begin to settle slightly. What did he mean by that? What were my father and master hiding from me? 0

When I finally looked up again, I noticed something was off—I was trapped in a transparent glass room. Aside from a bed, there was nothing else inside. Panic set in as I pulled out the Ruyi Stick and struck it against the glass with all my might; apart from a dull thud echoing back at me, the glass remained unscathed. 0

Probably disturbed by my banging, Mo Cang pushed open the door and walked in. “You don’t need to waste your energy; even a bullet wouldn’t break this glass.” 0

“Why have you trapped me here?” I shouted at Mo Cang while pressing against the glass, wishing I could break through and give this culprit a beating. 0

Mo Cang calmly pointed at his head with a smile. “Didn’t he tell you anything while you were dreaming?” 0

I suddenly had a bold guess in my heart, so I tentatively asked, “Are you planning to have him replace me? To take over my body?” 0

Mo Cang smiled and said, “Strictly speaking, this isn’t taking over. He is you, and you are him. You’ve been out there for twenty years; it’s time for him to make his appearance. This way, it’s fair between brothers, isn’t it?” 0

Although I felt uneasy, I still caught the word "brother" from Mo Cang's mouth. He looked just like me, but that was simply because we were brothers. However, for some unknown reason, he had been sealed by our master while I remained outside. 0

What exactly happened twenty years ago? What was Mo Cang’s elaborate plan in bringing me here? Could it be that I have some connection to the Evil Spirit Cult as well? 0

Suddenly, a faint yellow smoke began to seep out from a small hole above in the glass room. As the smoke spread, I fainted once again. This time, however, I retained my consciousness; it felt as if I had been partially anesthetized. I saw a woman in a nurse's uniform pushing me into an operating room or perhaps a laboratory. 0

Inside were several people wearing white coats and masks. I was pushed under the surgical lights. Everyone surrounded me while I lay there like an exhibit on display, unable to move. 0

I felt my hair being shaved off, followed by a sharp and cold scalpel slicing open my scalp. Then, a long and thin tool began to drill into my brain. 0

Strangely enough, I felt no pain at all. I was like an observer watching everything unfold but unable to do anything. 0

Gradually, I sensed my consciousness leaving my body. I felt as light as a wisp of smoke. After an unknown amount of time, I heard something shatter in my mind, followed by an overwhelming pressure. Then, I realized that only my spirit remained. 0

I didn’t know when or how it happened, but my soul had been forcibly separated from my body, leaving me curled up in the Sea of Consciousness. 0

Strangely enough, through my eyes, I could see everything around me. It seemed that the outer me hadn’t realized this yet. 0

I saw a large group of people entering and kneeling before me with joyful expressions on their faces, shouting, “Congratulations on the return of the Sect Master! Congratulations on the return of the Sect Master!” 0

My heart sank; could it be that I was the Sect Master of the Evil Spirit Cult who fell twenty years ago? 0

“You’ve done well. Once we deal with these troublesome flies above us, there will be generous rewards for all,” he said to the crowd. 0

It seemed he had taken control of my body; his movements were somewhat uncoordinated as he adjusted himself before turning to Mo Cang and asking, “How is the Blood Pool you were instructed to build coming along?” 0

Mo Cang respectfully replied, “Reporting to the Sect Master, it has been prepared.” 0

He nodded and said, "Very well! Just in time, my Blood Magic Technique is only one layer away from completion. As long as I absorb the essence blood from the Blood Pool, those guys above will meet their demise." 0

Then, under the guidance of Mo Cang, he headed towards the so-called Blood Pool. Although I was a spirit, the sight of the bubbling Blood Pool made me feel uneasy. The thick, bloody smell wafting towards me was overwhelming. 0

It dawned on me that the nails I had eaten in the bun earlier were merely one of Mo Cang's methods for disposing of bodies. 0

He took a deep breath, a look of enjoyment spreading across his face, and then stripped off his clothes. I felt a bit awkward; although I had seen my own naked body before while bathing, viewing it from an observer's perspective felt quite strange. 0

He sat cross-legged in the Blood Pool and began to cultivate directly. Seeing this, Mo Cang stepped back. The blood in the Blood Pool slowly decreased, and the surgical scar on his head began to heal rapidly. 0

I wanted to take advantage of his cultivation to reclaim my body, but after wandering around in the Sea of Consciousness for a long time, I couldn't inflict any harm on him. All I could do was shout into the Sea of Consciousness. Perhaps my emotions were too intense; he opened his eyes and said, "You should calm down. Now I have become you." 0

It was then that I realized I was no longer myself. What would happen if he met my master, Liu Er, or my father in my name? A wave of fear washed over me. 0
