Jian Jie had already seen through Qing Kong Dao Ren, and with a swift motion, she blocked his path with the Long Whip.
At that moment, I approached with the Ruyi Stick in hand and swung it down. Qing Kong Dao Ren rolled away to avoid my strike, but Jian Jie’s Long Whip struck him across the chest, leaving a trail of blood.
Jian Jie and I positioned ourselves like two horns, encircling Qing Kong Dao Ren in the middle. He seemed to realize that escape was impossible, yet he refused to give up, fighting back with the desperation of a cornered beast. The intensity of his attacks was a stark contrast to the earlier Qing Kong who had fled at the first sign of trouble.
Qing Kong Dao Ren casually produced a Talisman, which flickered with electric light before he hurled it at Jian Jie while chanting an incantation.
Then, as if he were throwing them without restraint, he unleashed a flurry of Talismans. Though these Talismans lacked significant power, they swarmed around us like flies, hindering our movements and testing our patience.
Jian Jie’s temper flared; she retracted her Long Whip and summoned a Cold Radiance Longsword. The sword shimmered with an eerie blue glow, resembling ice.
As the longsword emerged, the temperature in the surrounding air dropped noticeably. Jian Jie formed hand seals and quickly recited an incantation.
The sword floated in mid-air, trembling in response to her words before shooting forward like a bullet.
With her index and middle fingers joined together, Jian Jie altered her gestures continuously. The longsword danced under her command, moving swiftly up and down, leaving behind long blue trails that looked stunning against the night sky.
With the flying sword aiding me, I charged in close to engage Qing Kong Dao Ren. Despite being battered and bruised, he still clung to life with fierce determination.
“I never expected you would master the long-lost Yu Jian Shu. To die today beneath its power is a worthy end for me,” Qing Kong laughed maniacally. His once neatly tied hair had come undone, making him look like a ghost from afar.
In that moment of distraction, I struck him in the abdomen with my stick, sending him staggering backward. He quickly pulled out a Black Pill from his robe and swallowed it whole like candy, chewing loudly.
Seizing the momentum, I swung again with all my might—only this time, it was I who was sent flying.
The Ruyi Stick struck against Qing Kong Dao Ren's long sword, and I felt a tremendous recoil that pushed me back several steps before I could regain my balance.
The speed of the flying sword had slowed down, no longer as swift as it had been at the beginning. I noticed Jian Jie’s face seemed to have paled a bit. It appeared that the swordsmanship was extremely taxing on one’s internal energy. Otherwise, Jian Jie wouldn’t be struggling to maintain it after such a short time.
After taking the pill, Qing Kong Dao Ren’s wounds were visibly healing at an astonishing rate. Was this the Dali Pill? Or perhaps Viagra?
This was utterly outrageous!
Jian Jie sheathed her flying sword and approached me. "He must have taken a pill that temporarily boosts one’s strength."
Qing Kong Dao Ren laughed heartily, "Today, Daoist is willing to risk everything just to drag you all down with me!"
With that, he charged at us with his sword, his speed seemingly increasing. I employed the Great Shift Technique to evade him while Jian Jie moved with an unusual grace, leaving behind afterimages like those from the Lingbo Weibu technique.
I understood Jian Jie’s intention; any such drug would have a time limit. Once that time was up, its user would experience a period of weakness. For now, we only needed to avoid his attacks and stall for time.
Though Qing Kong Dao Ren appeared frenzied, he was aware of his own condition and disregarded my attacks entirely, focusing solely on Jian Jie. Due to the excessive energy expenditure from using Yu Jian Shu, Jian Jie was caught off guard by Qing Kong Dao Ren's relentless assault and blood began to trickle from the corner of her mouth.
Seeing an opportunity, Qing Kong Dao Ren slammed his fist into his chest and spat out a mouthful of heart's blood onto his long sword. To my astonishment, the sword absorbed the blood as if it were a living creature, emitting an eerie red glow afterward.
"Die, you filthy woman!" Qing Kong Dao Ren shouted.
The long sword was about to pierce Jian Jie’s chest when I rushed forward and shoved her aside. By the time I attempted to dodge, it was too late; the sword had already pierced through my chest.
"Damn it!" I cursed through gritted teeth as pain surged through me, then swung the Ruyi Stick directly at Qing Kong Dao Ren's neck.
I heard a sickening crack as bones shattered, yet Qing Kong Dao Ren merely grinned at me as if nothing had happened.
I gripped the hilt of the sword tightly, preventing him from drawing the long blade.
After a brief moment of distraction, Jian Jie suddenly became exceptionally calm. I watched as she took out the Azure Radiance Sword once more, then bit her middle finger to draw blood, tracing something on the sword.
Qing Kong Dao Ren seemed to sense the danger and kicked me to the ground. As the long sword was pulled from my body, I saw my blood spray out like an arrow.
At that moment, Jian Jie had completed her preparations, chanting, "With my blood as a guide! Unseal the spirit of the sword! Exterminate!"
As soon as Jian Jie finished her incantation, she collapsed to the ground, utterly drained.
The sword in mid-air transformed into an Azure Luan, letting out a long cry before turning into a streak of Qing Guang that pierced through Qing Kong Dao Ren's heart.
Then it morphed back into an ordinary sword, embedding itself in the grass nearby.
Qing Kong Dao Ren's face was etched with horror and disbelief. He probably never imagined that after exhausting all his means, he would still fall at the hands of two young people.
I knew he had no chance of survival! The sword had torn through his chest, nearly destroying all his internal organs. At that moment, Qing Kong only appeared normal on the outside; inside, he was nothing but a mass of shredded flesh.
I could also feel the wind seeping through my wound, and my consciousness was becoming increasingly hazy.
I seemed to see Jian Jie crawling toward me desperately, tears streaming down her face as she appeared to be shouting something.
As darkness enveloped me, everything fell silent once more.
When I awoke again, I found myself lying in a hospital room. The sharp scent of disinfectant filled the air. Looking around, I realized it was a single-occupancy ward. There were flowers on the bedside table!
" Ling Feng, you finally woke up! Are you thirsty? Hungry?" Fei Fei asked me with red eyes.
I shook my head and asked, "Jian Jie, how is she?"
Fei Fei probably didn't know her, so she just shook her head and shouted outside, " Ling Feng is awake, you can come in!"
Then a large group of people squeezed in. Solemn was pushing Jian Jie, who was sitting in a wheelchair. Carp Spirit was still following Ruo Yu.
Jian Jie said, "Ling Feng, thank you for saving me this time!"
Jian Jie suddenly being so polite made me feel a bit embarrassed. "Wasn't that last blow your doing? What happened in the end?"
Jian Jie smiled and said, "Qing Kong Dao Ren is dead, and then you fainted. It was Solemn who noticed something was wrong and turned back to find us!"
Looking at the room full of people, I suddenly felt that being alive was truly wonderful!
