A solemn expression appeared on Qing Kong's face. "Where do you come from?"
Jian Jie lifted her delicate chin and replied, "Knowing that, how dare you lie to my face!"
Jian Jie's foot pressed directly against Qing Kong's chest, but my attention was drawn to how long her legs were!
"Honestly confess, where did this Kun Xian Wang come from? If you don't tell the truth, don't blame me for using soul-searching techniques. By then, begging for mercy will be useless," Jian Jie threatened.
Upon hearing "soul-searching," Qing Kong's face turned pale, and he quickly pleaded, "Please, my lady, just let me go! I’ll confess honestly! It’s just that it’s been so long; I need a moment to think!"
Only then did Jian Jie lower her leg, her hands claw-like as she took the Kun Xian Wang into her palm. What was once large enough to cover an adult's body had now shrunk to a miniature version.
Without the control of the Kun Xian Wang, the Carp Spirit seemed to regain much of its strength. It then charged at Qing Kong with gritted teeth, shouting, "I will kill you, you devil! I will kill you..."
Fortunately, Ruo Yu was strong enough to pick her up around the waist. Perhaps due to their shared identity as spirits, the Carp Spirit immediately collapsed in Ruo Yu's arms, sobbing inconsolably.
Ruo Yu looked at me helplessly, sending a pleading glance my way. I steeled myself and said, "At times like this, women are most vulnerable. Just hold her and comfort her."
After a while, the Carp Spirit finally stopped crying with sniffles. Hong Chou then asked, "What exactly did he do to you?"
The Carp Spirit replied, "He tricked me into coming here and tied me up. He made me use my singing to absorb men's essence to help him cultivate. If he was dissatisfied, he would torture me and pull out my scales. He wouldn’t even give me water!"
Though the Carp Spirit's words were jumbled and chaotic, we understood that she had been captured by Qing Kong to do forced labor!
Solemn distanced herself from Qing Kong in disgust, feeling that he was nothing short of a pervert. She asked again, "Using men's essence for cultivation? That's just too disgusting."
Upon hearing this, Jian Jie kicked him hard. "Have you remembered anything after all this time? Or do you need me to help jog your memory?"
Jian Jie cracked her knuckles ominously. Qing Kong quickly begged for mercy. "I remember now! It must have been over twenty years ago when I went to S City and met a stunning beauty with exceptional grace. I had impure thoughts back then and followed her all the way. After that..." He chuckled lewdly and gave us a knowing look.
Jian Jie kicked him several more times in disgust. "Scum! Degenerate! Shameless..."
The Qing Kong Dao Ren held his head and did not resist, continuously begging for mercy.
I advised from the side, "Calm down! This guy has committed numerous sins. There's no need to get angry over him. Let's hand him over to the Special Investigation Bureau and let them convict him."
Jian Jie replied, "That sounds good! I've heard that the Special Investigation Bureau is quite strict with cultivators who commit crimes. Besides, from what you said, this guy has so many blood debts. He deserves to be sent in for... experiments!"
Suddenly, the Carp Spirit walked up to me and sniffed at me. "I remember your scent. I've seen you before, haven't I?"
I nodded, "Over ten years ago at Qingshan Lake!"
The Carp Spirit suddenly covered her mouth and then joyfully hugged me, tears of happiness streaming down her face. "What a rare encounter with a fellow villager..."
I was completely taken aback by her reaction. What was going on?
"But I remember you didn't look like this back then, and you weren't this tall!" The Carp Spirit pinched my face and gestured to her waist.
I replied helplessly, "It's been over a decade. If you haven't grown, do you think I haven't?"
I couldn't help but admire her thought process; it was truly baffling.
It was as if she was completely oblivious!
Feeling a bit impatient from all this, I coldly asked, "So have you harmed anyone over the years?"
The Carp Spirit seemed a bit scared of me and hid behind Ruo Yu, peeking at me while shaking her head vigorously.
Ruo Yu surprisingly took on a protective stance and said, "Ling Feng, lower your voice. Don't scare her!"
Finding a sense of security, the Carp Spirit stuck her tongue out at me. I checked her energy flow and noticed she had no trace of bloodlust, so I realized she wasn't lying and decided not to pursue the matter further.
After all, existence is reasonable! Besides, I noticed that the Carp Spirit is quite attached to Ruo Yu, so I decided not to interfere with them.
We arrived in one car, just enough for the five of us. Now that we have two more on the way back, we would have to split into two groups. The Carp Spirit clung to Ruo Yu wherever they went, while Solemn took the wheel. I would handle escorting the prisoners. Jian Jie accompanied me in getting a taxi.
Qing Kong was incredibly cunning, but with Jian Jie around, I felt a bit more at ease.
After a long wait, a taxi finally arrived. Just as I reached for the door, Qing Kong suddenly knelt and shoved me into the backseat, then turned and lunged at Jian Jie.
Jian Jie quickly sidestepped and drew out the Long Whip, swinging it at Qing Kong. At that moment, Qing Kong had already wriggled free of his restraints and dashed into the middle of the road.
Jian Jie missed with his whip and hurried after him. Everything happened so fast that by the time I leaned out of the taxi, Jian Jie was already chasing Qing Kong across the street.
I quickly apologized to the driver and ran after them.
I had crossed paths with Qing Kong before; this guy was tough and full of tricks.
With Jian Jie wielding the Long Whip, Qing Kong couldn’t escape or get close. Seeing me approach, he didn’t hesitate and jumped over the green belt into the Moat.
The Moat—it was essentially a sewage canal. Qing Kong was desperate enough to take such a risk. I figured after a swim in that muck, he wouldn’t be able to eat for days.
The river surface was pitch black at night, with only patches illuminated by streetlights revealing thick layers of oil and garbage.
I cursed under my breath; I can’t believe that scoundrel got away. Jian Jie didn’t seem angry. “Follow me!”
He quickly walked away, and I hurried after him, asking, “Where are we going?”
“Of course we’re going to catch that scumbag. I sprinkled some special fragrant powder on him earlier; just follow my Bee and we’ll find him!” Jian Jie said as he pulled out a glass bottle. After opening it, a golden Bee flew out.
It fluttered around Jian Jie for a couple of circles before darting off in a specific direction.
I followed Jian Jie closely and said, "Once we catch him, let's break his arms and legs first. Let's see how he can run then!"
Jian Jie replied, "We can't let scum like him get away. If he dares to resist again, he shouldn't blame me for being ruthless."
When Qing Kong climbed out of the water, dripping wet, he cursed, "Damn woman, you'll regret it when you fall into Daoist's hands. Just wait until Daoist gets you!"
Before he could finish his sentence, he saw Jian Jie standing in front of him with arms crossed.
Instinctively, he turned to run, but I blocked his escape route again.
"Damn it, I'm going all out with you today!" Qing Kong gritted his teeth and lunged at Jian Jie.
He seemed fierce at first, but halfway through, he suddenly changed direction and took off running!
There was no way we would fall for the same trick twice.
