I borrowed 250,000 from Jiang Jianguo, and with my own 50,000, I had a total of 300,000. After setting aside 200,000 for buying a house, I still had 100,000 left for renovations.
All the procedures for purchasing the house were handled by Shen Tao; I only needed to sign and pay.
After a whole day of busy work, when the property deed was finally handed to me, I couldn't express how happy I felt inside.
I, Ling Feng, now owned a house in H City! I was officially a city dweller.
Such a joyous occasion called for a celebration! I took Ruo Yu and Shen Tao to a nearby restaurant where we drank until we were quite tipsy.

The next morning, Ruo Yu and I arrived at the house. We first trimmed the trees at the entrance to let some sunlight in, which brought more life into the place.
Then we hired someone to repaint the interior and clean up. Once we finished, the transformation was astonishing!
There was originally a back door facing the street, but I had it sealed off. Although it was close to the road and people could see it, my business was different from others.
As the saying goes, "Good wine needs no bush." I was just going to run a business with familiar faces!
After sealing off the back door, I had a sign made and hung it up. The sign was surrounded by colorful lights, making it quite eye-catching at night.

Next came the furniture! The first floor would serve as an office space, so it needed to look presentable.
Ruo Yu and I went to the furniture market where we were greeted by a middle-aged man with thinning hair. He had a clever mind but lacked hair; it seemed this saying held true.
The boss saw us as young and inexperienced, so he quoted us exorbitant prices, thinking we would be easy to fool. With only a limited amount of money in my pocket, I had to be frugal. I had already visited several large furniture stores in the city, and this was the last one on my list.
Although I wasn't an expert, I had a rough idea of the market.
I simply smiled and didn't respond. The boss couldn't gauge my thoughts from my demeanor. After wandering through the low-priced section for a while, he took me to the mid-range area. This time, I listened and observed carefully.
I wasn't interested in low-end items, and high-end ones were beyond my budget. I could only choose some mid to high-range products to make a decent impression.
After selecting everything and calculating the total price, I haggled fiercely, leaving the boss nearly in tears.
"Boss, I've been around quite a bit, so I have a good sense of the prices. If you think this is reasonable, I'll place the order here. Otherwise, I'll keep looking. After all, with May Day coming up, there are promotions at the big malls..."
As I started to walk out, the boss initially hesitated to agree. "Hey there, you're haggling too hard! I can't even cover my costs at this price! How about you add five hundred? I'll take a loss on this deal just to make a friend and hope you'll come back next time!"
"Boss, your business is so big; how can we young folks compare? Besides, I'm only choosing quality goods. You won't lose out! If others ask about it later, I'll refer some business your way. What do you think?" I stood firm on not adding a single cent!
The boss thought for a while and saw that I was resolute and had genuinely reached the door. He suddenly slapped his thigh in frustration and said, "Alright then. I'll take this deal just to earn some goodwill. But honestly, I can't deliver it at this price. You need to think about it; labor and fuel costs are high these days. Please understand my position."
I had no retort; I calculated that calling a truck wouldn't be too much trouble. With Ruo Yu and me around, moving these items wouldn't be difficult.
"I know you guys are planning to start a company; let me give you a Lucky Cat as a gift to wish you great success in your business!" The boss pulled out a brand-new Lucky Cat from under the counter.
The Lucky Cat's raised paw moved up and down continuously; it looked quite adorable. Its eyes were pitch black, almost lifelike!
I thanked the boss and went outside to find a truck. Just as I secured one, I saw Ruo Yu walking out with a large wooden desk on his shoulder. It was solid wood and extremely heavy—two strong men would struggle to lift it.
Ruo Yu's display of strength left both the boss and the delivery driver wide-eyed in disbelief, their jaws nearly dropping.
In the end, being a shrewd businessman, the boss approached Ruo Yu with a bottle of water in hand and said, "Hey there! Would you be interested in working for me? The salary would definitely be higher than what you're earning now. What do you think?"
I couldn't help but laugh when I heard it; it seemed that the Boss really knew how to do business, even trying to poach talent! However, with someone like Ruo Yu, one against ten was hardly an exaggeration!
Ruo Yu shot a glance at the Boss and coldly said, "Step aside! You're blocking the way!"
Only then did the Boss reluctantly retreat. But he wasn't ready to give up just yet. As he left, he slipped a business card to Ruo Yu, and seeing me chuckling nearby, he handed one to me as well!
The driver was a straightforward man. Not needing help with loading and unloading, he charged us a bit less. I have a tendency to go against the grain, so I stubbornly refused to take any change.
Some things should be saved on, while others shouldn't. We're all out here; no one is more comfortable than anyone else. If we can avoid being calculative, then we should.
The driver was very grateful and left his number for future jobs.
After moving everything into the house and arranging it neatly, I let out a long sigh of relief. The first floor finally looked somewhat like an office!
As for the remaining bathroom and kitchen, I had them demolished and renovated. All the lights were replaced as well. Taking advantage of this downtime, I went out to buy some necessities for the second floor and kitchen utensils!
The bed and mattress on the second floor were quite ordinary, but I made sure to get quality items for the kitchen and bathroom.
After a whole week of busy work, my new home was finally in order.
Ruo Yu came from the mountains and didn't have much of a concept of home. But I was different. For me, this house built from stone and cement held an indescribable significance.
Having a house gave me a sense of belonging in this vast city.
That evening, Ruo Yu and I bought some prepared food and drinks, enjoying our first meal in our new home.
I wasn't sure how much I had drunk, but I knew I was tipsy!
In truth, when I saw the name "Ling Feng" on the homeowner's document, I felt an impulse to tell my father. However, I hesitated, fearing it would worry him. After all, several hundred thousand was no small amount; there was no need to make him anxious over it.
I thought about it and decided to wait until I paid off the debt before telling my father, so I could bring him over to enjoy a better life!
There are three rooms upstairs; Ruo Yu and I each have one, leaving one as a spare.
The only room downstairs is naturally the president's office.
And the president is, of course, me!
As for the employees, while Ruo Yu can barely be considered one, she is more of a partner in collaboration.
So I still need to hire a beautiful receptionist to handle guest reception and organize work.
The receptionist is the face of the company, so I need to find someone truly stunning to represent our Jie Yuan Pu's image.
