I have a sharp tongue, and seeing the Azure Bat King fleeing in such a disheveled state brought me immense satisfaction. "Azure Bat King, weren't you quite impressive? Why don't you stick around?" 0

The Azure Bat King, his face pale with anger, chose not to engage in a war of words with me and instead burrowed into the forest. The giant python, already under Yuan Ling's control, was oblivious to the pain it caused as its massive body crashed through rows of trees like a bulldozer. 0

I was secretly pleased with my strategy of drawing trouble away; after all, it was only fitting to turn the tables on the Azure Bat King, who had previously tried to use this against us from the Special Investigation Bureau. 0

In a flash, a shadow zipped past me, followed by the giant python collapsing to the ground with a thunderous crash. 0

All of this happened in the blink of an eye. Before I could fully comprehend what was happening, I saw a young man in a black robe standing atop the serpent's head. He looked to be only slightly older than me, with a pale and stern expression. 0

His eyes shot towards me like lightning. I felt as if I had been paralyzed; I couldn't move at all. My legs trembled involuntarily. 0

My instincts screamed that this person was extremely dangerous—more so than anyone or anything I had ever encountered! I felt that if he reached out even slightly, my life would be forfeit. 0

At that moment, the Azure Bat King, who had initially fled, returned and addressed the man standing on the giant snake: "I welcome your presence, Holy Son. It is entirely my fault for being incompetent and failing to capture Jiao Zhu. I hope you can forgive me!" 0

It was astonishing to see the once-mighty Azure Bat King display such humility and fear. 0

The sinister young man before me turned out to be the leader of the Evil Spirit Cult! This was utterly unbelievable. He couldn't be more than his twenties. What gave him the power to command such respect from seasoned veterans like the Azure Bat King? 0

It was strength—undeniable strength! Only through power could one earn such loyalty and submission. 0

"You useless fools! You can't even handle a corpse, and yet you let a mere child toy with you. How am I supposed to save face for the Evil Spirit Cult?" The young man stood with his hands clasped behind his back on top of Snake Head. 0

The giant python beneath him acted like an obedient pet, occasionally flicking its tongue as green light flickered in its eyes, likely out of fear for its master. 0

Xia Yue stepped forward respectfully. "Reporting to you, Holy Son, this situation is not entirely our master's fault. The Special Investigation Bureau is determined to obtain Jiao Zhu and has sent skilled experts here." 0

"Wrong is wrong; making excuses will only make me think even less of your abilities," the young man replied coldly. 0

Xia Yue seemed about to say more but was silenced by Xia Xing. The man referred to as Holy Son curiously approached me and asked, "Can you control this undead giant python?" 0

I shook my head. "No! Are you the leader of the Evil Spirit Cult?" 0

The young man stood at about my height and locked eyes with me as he replied, "Yes! I am Mo Cang, Holy Son of the Evil Spirit Cult!" 0

I suppressed the fear rising in my heart; the pressure from Mo Cang was overwhelming. "I am Ling Feng!" 0

Mo Cang nodded, a smirk playing on his lips. "You are quite interesting. Why not join my Evil Spirit Cult and become my right-hand man? What do you think?" 0

Beside us, the Azure Bat King shouted, "Holy Son, please think twice! This person is from the Special Investigation Bureau; you..." 0

Mo Cang casually glanced at the Azure Bat King, causing him to swallow his words. "You old stubborn fools cling to your outdated ways. If it weren't for that, how could I have been suppressed by the Special Investigation Bureau for so long? It has taken decades just to regain a bit of strength. Now that I am in charge of the Evil Spirit Cult, we must be proactive and absorb some fresh blood." 0

I was taken aback by Mo Cang's words. Despite his youth, he had remarkable insight. He understood that when one is cornered, they must adapt; the world is advancing, and those who cling to tradition ultimately face extinction. 0

Before I could refuse, Mo Cang smiled and said, "Don't be so quick to reject me. I will make you agree!" He flashed a charming smile at me that made me instinctively protect my chest with one hand while covering my lower body with the other. "I am a normal man!" 0

Mo Cang laughed heartily. "What a coincidence! I am also a normal man!" 0

Standing atop the giant python's head, he declared, "Ling Feng, right? I will remember you. Once I obtain Jiao Zhu, I will come looking for you." 0

With that, the giant snake carried Mo Cang toward the reservoir. The Azure Bat King said, "Holy Son, are you really going to let him go? Aren't you afraid of raising a tiger to trouble you later and creating a formidable opponent for the Evil Spirit Cult?" 0

Mo Cang replied with a grin, "The growth of any power cannot be separated from external pressure. Besides, you know the story of the Seven Captures of Meng Huo, don't you? If we succeed, the Evil Spirit Cult gains a fierce warrior; if we fail, we simply gain an opponent. It’s not necessarily a bad thing." 0

The Azure Bat King sighed in admiration. "Holy Son, your foresight is beyond our reach!" 0

Old Man and Wu Lao were still by the reservoir. I couldn't abandon my comrades and flee alone; thus, I trailed behind Mo Cang's group as they headed toward the reservoir. 0

When I caught up, both sides were in a standoff. Wu Lao had regained consciousness but appeared somewhat weak; Old Man seemed relatively unharmed. Upon seeing me approach, he patted my shoulder and said, "You've got quite the skill!" 0

"Mo Cang of the Evil Spirit Cult greets both seniors," Mo Cang surprisingly bowed to Old Man and Wu Lao without any trace of arrogance from before. I was puzzled about what scheme he was plotting. 0

Mo Cang continued, "We live in a civilized society now; fighting and killing aren't ideal anymore. Although you two have been with the Special Investigation Bureau for many years, I still dare to invite you both to become honored guests of my Evil Spirit Cult. What do you say?" 0

Old Man spat disdainfully and retorted, "What arrogance! Even if you offered me the position of leader of your cult, I wouldn't accept it. Leading a bunch of rabble would only disgust me." 0

Mo Cang's expression shifted slightly as he coldly laughed. "If that's the case, then we must see some real skills." 0

With that, he struck out with a palm attack. Old Man pushed me aside and met his strike head-on. A loud bang erupted like summer thunder as both men staggered back slightly from the impact. 0

Mo Cang took three steps back, while the Old Man retreated seven steps! I was close enough to see a trace of blood at the corner of the Old Man's mouth, likely from the fresh blood he had swallowed back down his throat. 0

As I moved forward to help, An Lao Dao said, "In a moment, I'll hold them off. You and Wu Lao should run as fast as you can. Whether you can escape or not depends on fate." 0

An Lao Dao continued, "It's no use denying old age. The waves of the Yangtze River push the waves ahead, and the previous waves die on the beach. Young one, your skills are impressive." 0

Mo Cang cupped his hands and replied, "Old Man, you flatter me. I am still young; if you don't mind my ignorance, it would be a blessing for me to receive your guidance." 0

The Old Man waved his hand and said, "Neither of us can teach the other. Since ancient times, choosing a disciple has been important; while talent and understanding matter, I value character above all!" 0

As soon as the Old Man finished speaking, Mo Cang's expression darkened instantly. "How dare you be so disrespectful, Old Man!" 0

With that, he stepped onto the giant python and charged toward the Old Man! 0
