Setting up a fortune-telling stall at the train station turned out to be a dead end. Coupled with being tormented by a vengeful spirit all night, I finally managed to sleep in a bit that morning. 0

Though I slept in, I still woke up naturally at the right time. As soon as dawn broke, I got up to practice my skills. However, this place was not like my home where I had a spacious yard to train in. 0

While washing up, I scratched my head, pondering where I could practice. Glancing downstairs, I noticed Zhou Shu was pulling the Shaobing cart out for business. 0

Not wanting to disturb the neighbors, I didn’t call out but simply waved at Zhou Shu with a smile. Zhou Shu's wrinkled face displayed a complex mix of embarrassment, fear, and confusion as he nodded back at me. 0

After finishing my wash and heading back to my room, I glanced at the clear blue sky and suddenly had an idea: since there was no space to practice downstairs, why not go upstairs? 0

Although this rental didn’t have stairs leading directly to the rooftop, it didn’t pose much of a challenge for me. Seeing that no one was around, I stepped onto the railing and leaped up, grabbing the edge of the roof. With a push, I flipped over and landed steadily on the rooftop. 0

Being up high gave me a broader view. The early winter morning air felt damp and chilly as I inhaled deeply through my nose, instantly feeling invigorated. 0

I began practicing Luohan Fist, combining it with the Great Shift technique. The more I practiced, the more fluid my movements became. Although I had nine years of foundational training, my lack of real combat experience made my fighting style somewhat unrefined. 0

As the saying goes, "What is learned from books is shallow; true understanding comes from practice." After several battles of varying intensity, I grew increasingly familiar with how to combine my techniques. 0

I took a deep breath, relaxed my fists at my sides, exhaled, and concluded my practice. Wiping the sweat from my forehead, I approached the edge of the rooftop. Ensuring no one was below, I gripped the edge tightly and then thrust myself into the corridor below. As my body swung into the hallway, I released my grip and landed gracefully on my knees. 0

I dusted off my hands and struck a perfect landing pose like an accomplished gymnast; it felt incredibly satisfying. 0

Just then— 0

“Pfft…” 0

Since I was facing away from the west while preparing to enter the house, I heard a splashing sound behind me. With my hand raised and backside sticking out awkwardly, there was no way to adjust my position gracefully. 0

It was truly an unlucky year; I had been seen in such a state. As I turned around, I caught sight of the bespectacled man holding a toothbrush cup, toothpaste foam at the corners of his mouth, staring at me in shock. 0

At that moment, he probably thought I was a lunatic. I wished I could find a hole to hide in and quickly darted back into the house, my face likely as red as a monkey's backside. 0

“Knock, knock, knock…” 0

The sound of knocking pulled me from my deep regret for failing to maintain my masterful image. It startled me. 0

When the door opened, standing before me was none other than the bespectacled man. “Is there something you need?” he asked. 0

He extended his right hand towards me, stifling a laugh as he introduced himself. “My name is Wang Jun. It’s… nice to meet you…” 0

I shook his hand and cleared my throat before responding, “I’m Ling Feng. I just moved in; please take care of me.” 0

Wang Jun's eyes darted around, glancing at the interior of my home before leaning in closer and lowering his voice conspiratorially. “Are you getting used to living here?” 0

Suddenly feeling uncomfortable with such a large man so close to me, I took a step back to create some distance and replied, “It’s quite nice.” 0

Wang Jun looked at me with disbelief. “Nothing strange has happened while you sleep at night? Like finding your clothes and shoes rearranged when you wake up? Or hearing odd noises during the night?” 0

“Oh… so that’s what you meant!” I said, feigning realization. 0

Wang Jun recoiled as if he had seen a ghost and took a few steps back. “You’re not scared at all? I’ve lived here for three years and have heard plenty about this place.” 0

I gave him an eager expression, wanting to hear more. Perhaps it was just youthful curiosity; Wang Jun licked his lips and whispered, “People around here say this house is haunted.” 0

I couldn't help but burst into laughter after hearing that. I walked into the room and took out the Bagua Diagram, then approached Wang Jun and unfolded it, pointing to both sides of the diagram. "Take a good look; do you see what I do?" 0

"Exorcise Evil Spirits and Ensure Safety, Zhen Zhai Zhuan Yun Zhao Tao Hua..." Wang Jun read aloud the words on either side of the Bagua Diagram, following my finger. 0

"Monk? Taoist?" Wang Jun asked, looking me up and down in surprise and curiosity. 0

I adjusted my clothes, trying to appear wise, and nodded. "Do you think that when a Gui Wu encounters me, its nemesis, who is more afraid? It or me?" 0

Wang Jun scrutinized me carefully and asked suspiciously, "Is everything about you real?" 0

I brushed off my clothes symbolically and replied, "Of course! Who would joke around with something like this?" 0

Then I mischievously grinned and said, "Too bad it's not nighttime; otherwise, I could catch a female ghost for you to see..." 0

At the mention of a female ghost, Wang Jun instinctively took a few steps back, leaning against the railing. If I hadn't pulled him back in time, he would have nearly fallen off the balcony. 0

"Then can you check if there's anything on me?" Wang Jun grabbed my hand urgently. 0

Suddenly being held by a stranger made me uncomfortable, so I pulled my hand away. "Sure. Just stand a little further away; I'll take a look." 0

I closed my eyes and silently recited the Six Character Mantra. When I opened my eyes again, the surroundings seemed to be tinted with a faint dark red hue. I noticed several strange black misty tendrils coiling around Wang Jun, resembling a greedy snake that was slowly devouring his yang energy. The black mist was quite weak, which explained why Wang Jun's yang energy was depleting slowly—if one wasn't paying attention, they wouldn't even notice it. 0

I frowned and asked, "Have you been feeling mentally exhausted lately? Sleeping poorly? Easily distracted? Does it feel like you can't muster any enthusiasm for anything?" 0

Wang Jun seized my hand again as if it were a lifeline. "Ling Feng, you truly are a living deity! I don’t know what’s been going on with me lately. I keep making mistakes at work; if this continues, I might lose my job. You have to help me!" 0

I nodded and said, "Since we are destined to be neighbors, I will help with this little favor. First, take me to see your place." 0

Wang Jun's house was laid out similarly to mine, but it was slightly larger. It was a bit messy inside, and as I walked in, I caught a whiff of a strong odor from shoes. I sniffed the air. 0

Wang Jun kicked the smelly socks that were by the door further inside and apologized, "Sorry about the mess." 0

I took a careful look around the room and replied, "The house is fine. The problem probably lies outside. Where do you usually go?" 0

Wang Jun chuckled, "I'm just a single guy; I only go from home to the office." 0

I frowned and said, "Then the problem is likely at your office..." 0

Suddenly, Wang Jun seemed to remember something important and shouted, "It's her... it must be her..." 0
