I gritted my teeth, thinking about the money that was almost within my grasp. I couldn't just stand by and watch it slip away. With a swift motion, I slammed my hand on the ground and kicked out sideways, aiming to take down the relatively thin zombie in front of me to free up my hands for the other one. 0

Fortunately, the Green-Haired Zombie before me hadn't gained any intelligence and moved slowly; otherwise, I would have had no choice but to run away. 0

However, my plan to trip the closer Skinny Zombie with my legs in a scissor motion was completely shattered. What were legs? They were more like rooted trees! No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't bring it down. To make matters worse, the other Green-Haired Zombie was already roaring and charging at me. 0

I quickly swung my Ruyi Stick, and the taller Green-Haired Zombie seemed to be afraid of it, letting out a series of shrieks from the side. Seizing the opportunity, I kicked against the Skinny Zombie's leg, using that momentum to slide away in the opposite direction. The thin zombie staggered back a few steps before regaining its balance. 0

Perhaps it had been years since they had smelled a living person's scent; both Green-Haired Zombies had blood-red light glowing in their eyes, and their roars echoed in the vast cave like they were amplified by some unseen speaker. 0

I pulled some Glutinous Rice from my Qiankun Bag and scattered it towards the Skinny Zombie. As it made contact with its body, it sizzled and emitted white smoke, causing the Skinny Zombie to howl in pain. 0

While maneuvering around to keep the tall zombie at bay, I took out a red thread. This was no ordinary thread; it had been buried in the ashes of a temple incense burner, blessed by countless prayers and infused with Buddhist essence. I performed the Great Shift Technique, wrapping the red thread around the Skinny Zombie. Perhaps sensing the Corpse Qi, the thread glowed faintly red before embedding deeply into its body. 0

Looking at the Skinny Zombie now bound like a true rice dumpling, I turned to beckon at the tall zombie and said, "Now it's your turn." 0

The tall zombie seemed to understand my gesture and charged at me with its arms flailing. Luckily, with my Great Shift Technique, I could move swiftly within space. 0

I sidestepped and chuckled, "Do you think I'm foolish? If I were to compete in strength with you, wouldn't that be like asking for trouble?" 0

Seeing that I was evading like a mudfish and always slipping away from its grasp, the Tall Zombie decided to turn back to rescue its skinny counterpart. But there was no way I would let that happen. 0

I switched my long stick for a Peach Wood Sword. This sword was a rare treasure crafted from peach wood heart taken from a tree struck by lightning on the mountain. It was perfect for dealing with evil spirits—one strike would do the trick. 0

I thrust forward with my sword, blocking the Tall Zombie's advance. A flicker of lightning energy danced along the blade as it passed by, causing an expression of fear to cross the Tall Zombie's face. Its outstretched hand retracted suddenly as it let out another roar directed at me. 0

"What’s this? Are you begging for mercy?" I held my Peach Wood Sword triumphantly in hand, feeling elated. Initially thinking it would take considerable effort to deal with these two Green-Haired Zombies, I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly things were going. 0

It seemed that my unreliable master could sometimes be quite dependable after all; at least he left me with genuine treasures. 0

As I pondered how to deal with these two zombies—after all, they were already dead and wouldn’t repent or return to life—it made more sense to send them off peacefully today rather than let them linger in this world suffering or posing a threat to Shan Xia's village. It would be far easier for me to perform their transcendence right now. 0

The Skinny Zombie, bound tightly by red ropes and lying on the ground, continued to wail in despair. I approached with the Peach Wood Sword in hand and said, “Wo Fo, with compassion, I send you into reincarnation. Do not cling to past memories.” 0

The Peach Wood Sword pierced through the Skinny Zombie's body without any resistance, and the once wrinkled figure was engulfed in a pale blue flame. In no time, only a pile of broken armor remained. 0

I clasped my hands together and recited the Amitabha Sutra. The words of Buddhism resonated in the cave like a mighty bell, carrying an immense power that echoed far and wide. 0

When I turned around, I saw the tall zombie kneeling on the ground, its hands covering its head. 0

As the flames on the Tall Zombie dimmed, darkness enveloped the cave once more. A sense of melancholy washed over me; who had trapped these two zombies here? What was their purpose? 0

Just as I furrowed my brow in confusion, a sound resembling knocking echoed amidst the thunderous roar of the waterfall—“Bang… Bang… Bang…” 0

I abruptly turned to look at the coffin atop the boulder by the pool. For some reason, I was convinced that the sound was coming from within it. 0

Could it be that what lay inside was not lifeless? But alive? 0

A chill ran down my spine. While I had no fear of Gui Wu, this eerie coffin in the underground cave filled me with an unknown dread. 0

On one side was my longing for money, and on the other was my inner fear. I wrestled with myself but ultimately chose the former; I had come of age and had responsibilities to support my family. 0

Aside from my skills, I had nothing else to offer. There was no way to earn money, build a house, or improve our lives. Such an opportunity was rare; if I let it slip away, I feared I would regret it. 0

“Ah…” 0

A long sigh filled with the weight of time managed to drown out the roaring sound of the waterfall, clearly reaching my ears and resonating in my mind. 0

Before I could fully process my surprise, I felt a tightness around my waist as if bound by ropes. Suddenly, a powerful force yanked me backward into the air. 0

With a loud “bang,” I was thrown against something hard; my back hit a stone, sending a sharp pain through me. Rubbing my back, I stood up only to find that my flashlight seemed damaged. After shaking it vigorously a few times, it finally flickered back to life—likely just a poor connection from the fall. 0

Surrounded by dark waters, I turned to see the coffin right behind me. I had been pulled directly to the giant stone in the center of the pool by some unseen force. 0

The coffin was right before my eyes. 0

It was a stone coffin, intricately carved on the front and sides, likely due to the heavy moisture underground. The entire surface of the coffin was covered in deep green moss. 0

I walked around the stone coffin and discovered that it was essentially a square block of stone, perfectly sealed with no visible seam where the lid met the body of the coffin. 0

I held my flashlight in my mouth and pushed against the coffin with both hands, but it remained unmoved. 0

Just when I felt utterly helpless, the coffin suddenly shook violently. The giant stone was not far from a waterfall, and with moss covering its surface, I lost my footing and slipped. 0

The shaking of the coffin caused the stone to sway as well. I quickly reached out and grabbed one corner of the coffin, preventing myself from falling into the water. Who knows what might be lurking in this deep underground pool? 0
