The Giants 2: Sharp-tongued Old Man

Based on the information I received directly or indirectly from the Old Man over the past few days, I have indeed traveled back to ancient times and, by some unfortunate accident, found myself in the body of a handmaiden of the Sun God. 0

If I were just an ordinary handmaiden, that would be fine; at least I'd be serving an immortal being! But sadly, this particular handmaiden has unwittingly offended the Sun God and, in desperation, had to flee to the Zai Tian mountain! 0

I helplessly clutched my only magical artifact—the Qian Kun Bag—and consoled myself, "At least I used to be a deity and have a treasure; it can at least protect me." 0

However, this small comfort was instantly shattered by the Old Man's sharp tongue. 0

"Hmph! That broken sack can only hold some luggage," the Old Man scoffed. 0

I was so furious that I nearly passed out, collapsing to the ground in disbelief... 0

I remember that day vividly; I was rehearsing for a play—Adam and Eve. I had donned a leopard-print costume and was eagerly preparing to take the stage as one of their descendants when suddenly, the power went out... 0

And thus, tragedy struck without warning! 0

As I was lost in my thoughts of despair, the Old Man climbed onto my chest and then slid down from its highest point with a whoosh. 0

"I still think we need to ask Kua Fu for help and see if he will take us in," he said. After pondering for a moment, I slowly sat up and retorted angrily, "You old pervert, I warn you—if you climb onto my chest again, I'll squash you!" With that, I stood up furiously, brushed off the dust from my clothes, and turned to leave. 0

"Wait for me!" The Old Man hurriedly flew up and clutched my skirt tightly. 0

After searching for quite some time, I finally found Kua Fu at the mouth of a valley. He was intently gazing into the depths of the valley, with sunlight streaming down at just the right angle to illuminate his robust figure with a dazzling halo. 0

From my perspective, Kua Fu's golden-lit profile was simply stunning. 0

As I was lost in admiration, Kua Fu suddenly turned around. In a panic, I quickly lowered my head, recalling the stern and rebellious expression he had worn yesterday, which still sent shivers down my spine. 0

After a long silence, Kua Fu finally spoke slowly, "Go ahead, tell me, what is the purpose of the Heavenly Court sending you here?" 0

I immediately shook my head vigorously and said anxiously, "There’s really no purpose! We are truly at our wits' end... Please, we beg you to take us in!" 0

Kua Fu's gaze flickered as he slyly glanced at me, his expression still defiant. "It’s easy to stay, but... I, Kua Fu, do not keep idle people." 0

Upon hearing this, I immediately knelt down without hesitation and recited a line I had learned from a TV drama: "I am willing to pledge my life in loyalty to Kua Fu, serving with utmost dedication until death!" 0

Kua Fu laughed heartily and pointed towards the canyon ahead, saying loudly, "Alright then, go down there and find me a crystal stone, and I will let you stay here." 0

I walked to the edge of the canyon and looked down, discovering that it wasn't very deep—only about twice my height. Feeling pleased with myself, I couldn't resist turning back to give Kua Fu an extremely alluring wink and said sweetly, "Wait for me!" With that, I bravely leaped down. 0

"Ahhh..." In less than a second, my scream shot up into the sky, reaching a pitch that could easily rival a dolphin's call. 0

"You fool!" Old Man shot me a sidelong glance and said with glee, "This Zai Tian mountain is above the earth's fire; of course, it's scorching hot in the canyon." 0

Embarrassed and angry, I turned my face away, wishing I could find a crack in the ground to hide in. Enduring the pain, I struggled to move forward but caught a whiff of a smell similar to grilled lamb skewers rising from beneath my feet. 0

Old Man sniffed and muttered softly, "It's burnt..." 0

"Shut up!" I angrily grabbed the Old Man and stuffed him into the Qian Kun Bag. My clothes had started to catch fire, exposing more and more of my skin, and I didn't want him taking advantage of me. 0

Turning to look at Kua Fu, our eyes met. Just a second ago, his gaze was filled with approval and even... a hint of pity, but upon meeting my eyes, it instantly turned cold and ruthless. 0

Chameleon... I silently scoffed in my heart. 0

I had searched the canyon for a long time but found nothing. The canyon was vast, and the plants on the ground had already turned to charcoal. My feet kept sinking in, and every time I touched the hotter rocks below, the pain became unbearable. My legs were charred black, emitting a pungent smell of burning flesh. 0

Suddenly, my foot slipped, and I lost my balance, falling into the abyss. In the split second before losing consciousness, I desperately untied the ropes of the Qian Kun Bag and threw it as far as I could. 0

After all, the Old Man was a deity; he could fly out... 0

With a loud thud, I crashed heavily to the ground, sinking into the blackened earth. Breathing became increasingly difficult, and my body felt like it was on fire. Just before my consciousness faded away, I vaguely heard someone shouting at me: "Princess... Princess..." 0

Then, everything went silent. 0
