Grandma Ruan ran back to her room in tears, while grandpa Ruan glared at the two daughters-in-law and growled, "And you two, if that kid named Shen comes back, throw him out! If I find out you dare to accept anything from him again, I'll break your legs."
With the old man's fierce warning, everyone in the Ruan Family fell silent.
Shen Chi was unaware that he had been given the cold shoulder by the Ruan Family, who had even barred him from visiting. At that moment, after a long train journey, he finally arrived in Shanghai.

Su Meili's eyes dimmed slightly, but she maintained her smile as she replied, "Please don’t flatter me like that; it makes me feel embarrassed. Brother Chi is so exceptional; I can only imagine how remarkable his wife must be—far beyond my capabilities."
She said this in a joking tone, and Fang Dahai naturally took it lightly, joining in the laughter.
She had no idea that she was actually digging a pit for Su Mingxian.
