A month later.
A sudden downpour enveloped the Central District of the Free Federation in darkness.
A military Jeep sped through the rain along the Lakeside Avenue of the Central Federal District, where tall sycamore trees lined both sides, shedding leaves scattered across the ground by the relentless rain.
The vehicle entered a military restricted area, and at the end of the road stood the Free Federation Department of Defense.
After passing through multiple checkpoints, the Jeep came to a stop in front of the National Defense Department building. A young officer opened the car door, donned his military cap, and hurriedly shielded a briefcase containing documents from the rain as he dashed toward the National Defense Department.
After a soldier at the entrance checked his credentials, he was allowed to enter. He pushed open the door to find a brightly lit interior bustling with activity; no one paid any attention to this drenched young officer.
He made his way down to the first basement level, approached an office, and knocked on the door. Once inside, he handed over the documents to a Major. The Major opened them, nodded in acknowledgment, and dismissed the young officer who had delivered the urgent military report.
The Major then exited and entered an elevator, pressing the button for the third basement level. The military report was placed on a desk.
Seated behind that desk was a slender Female Major General in military attire, appearing to be in her forties. Her neat bangs framed her face, which was streaked with gray among black hair. She wore thick glasses and had a cigarette clenched between her lips as she expertly opened the report's envelope, only to find a storage disk inside.
Inserting the disk into a projector, it immediately displayed a video. She rested her chin on her interlaced fingers as she watched intently, her expression contemplative. After finishing, she pressed a bell to summon her subordinates.
"Gather the heads of the Military Police Department, Military Intelligence Agency, Special Operations Department, and Lighthouse Guard for an emergency meeting!"
"Yes!"
…
At that moment, Lu Fei Fan sat at a booth by a floor-to-ceiling window, gazing out at the gloomy rain while lost in thought.
He had been back for a month now, and he still remembered the atmosphere when he first entered the Great Whirlpool; it was far worse than the current gloomy rain.
After they emerged, the Great Whirlpool automatically closed. Gradually, news came from other places that people were coming out from inside, and the exit of the Great Whirlpool also shut itself. It was later heard that both the Alliance Empire and the Free Federation had sent State Protectors to the Great Whirlpool, but what they did there remained unknown.
One thing was certain: the Wei Chong Yi Shou inside the Great Whirlpool did not appear as expected, nor did the Dustworld Python show itself. However, Lu Fei Fan couldn't shake off a lingering feeling; he always sensed that Wei Chong Yi Shou wouldn’t be so easily trapped in Bai Di Cheng's foreign realm.
This matter had already been reported by Great Fox Manor to the military of the Free Federation, which stationed a fleet in the area surrounding the Great Whirlpool. Yet, after a month of calm, nothing significant had occurred.
“Mr. Hua.” Someone interrupted Lu Fei Fan's thoughts.
He snapped back to reality and saw a middle-aged, overweight man in a suit with a handlebar mustache and a center-parted hairstyle standing respectfully beside him.
“This is your card. The total for all your auctioned items is 100 million. After deducting the 1.5 billion for the Jinwu Holy Blood Pill auctioned to you half a month ago, along with our 50 million intermediary fee, there remains 1.55 billion in this card. Please take it…” The steward handed over an incredibly prestigious Black Card.
“Thank you.” Lu Fei Fan stood up to accept the card, which contained the total earnings from all his items auctioned from the Great Whirlpool. Over half of that amount had already gone towards purchasing the Jinwu Holy Blood Pill for his father's treatment. He was relieved to know that his father had regained consciousness and was recovering well, currently undergoing rehabilitation training.
All these sacrifices had finally paid off.
“Take care.” The steward escorted Lu Fei Fan out. Just as Lu Fei Fan reached the door, the steward suddenly called out to him.
“By the way, Mr. Hua, as our esteemed Top Member, we have a little gift for you.” The steward said as he handed over a wax-sealed envelope to Lu Fei Fan.
“Wishing you a pleasant day.” With that, the steward returned to his duties with his attendants.
Lu Fei Fan looked at the envelope curiously. Upon opening it, his expression changed drastically. He immediately took out his phone and called home.
Hua Fei Fan's Mother was busy making soup while Hua Fei Fan's Father was struggling to walk on the rehabilitation machine, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. Suddenly, the phone in the living room rang. He called out a few times, his speech slightly slurred from having slept for too long, as the language center in his brain had yet to fully recover. However, he managed to alert Hua Fei Fan's Mother, who rushed out of the kitchen to answer the call.
"Alright, alright, it's your son Fei Fan calling," Hua Fei Fan's Mother waved her hand at Fei Fan's Father. "Hello, Fei Fan? When are you coming back for dinner? I've made soup! What? Packing up?"
"Tell Hua Jun Tang to come back urgently!" Lu Fei Fan's voice came through the phone, filled with urgency.
Hua Fei Fan's Mother felt a wave of panic and quickly called Hua Fei Fan's Brother.
Half an hour later, Hua Jun Tang returned, accompanied by his girlfriend.
It had only been a short time since they last met, but Hua Jun Tang now exuded the confidence of a successful young businessman. He was dressed handsomely and was accompanied by a charming girl who appeared both graceful and capable. This girl had already become Lu Fei Fan's sister-in-law; they were engaged.
"Mom, why did Big Brother call us back in such a hurry? What's so important?" Hua Jun Tang asked anxiously.
"I don't know either; your brother just told me to have you come back. There's no need to pack anything; just be ready for him to leave," Hua Fei Fan's Mother hurriedly helped Hua Fei Fan's Father put on his shoes and clothes.
Before long, Lu Fei Fan returned.
As soon as everyone saw Lu Fei Fan, they couldn't contain their curiosity any longer.
"Brother, what's going on?"
"Fei Fan, what happened?"
"Mom, there's no time to explain; you all need to come downstairs with me," Lu Fei Fan said before leading the family downstairs.
Before long, several military trucks rumbled into the area, sealing it off. They saw Lu Fei Fan preparing to leave and immediately surrounded him, with soldiers aiming their weapons at him.
Hua Fei Fan's mother and younger brother were instantly stunned, and even Hua Fei Fan's father felt a twinge of anxiety.
"Mr. Lu Fei Fan, you are suspected of murdering an officer of the Free Federation, and we need you to come with us," said the officer in charge of the arrest, a Military Major, flanked by four individuals in specialized uniforms known as Fusers.
"Murdering an officer?" Hua Fei Fan's brother and mother looked at Lu Fei Fan in shock; in their minds, he would never do such a thing.
"Hmph, murder?" Lu Fei Fan sneered. "I don't even know which officer you're talking about."
"You'll find out soon enough," the Major replied curtly. "I suggest you surrender peacefully; otherwise..."
"What a joke, just because of you?" Lu Fei Fan waved his hand, and countless flowers surged forth from the surrounding area, forming a swirling sea of blooms that encircled them.
"Lu Fei Fan, are you refusing to be arrested?" the Military Major shouted angrily.
Boom!
Without a word, Lu Fei Fan overturned a military truck, sending the soldiers aiming their guns at his family tumbling over.
"How dare a mere Top War General act so recklessly!" Suddenly, an elderly man leaped down from the roof of a nearby building. His radiant aura transformed him into a massive Tree Person, with countless vines shooting out from his body with tremendous force.
The flower sea was instantly disrupted and scattered. Lu Fei Fan hurriedly raised a shield to protect his family as he gazed at the old man.
The God of War!
The Free Federation has even dispatched a War God to capture him!
"Son, surrender now!" A burly man wielding twin blades leaped down behind Lu Fei Fan, his blades flashing like lightning as they descended.
Boom!
Lu Fei Fan forcefully deflected the man's attack, his Whale Devouring Sword radiating with an astonishing surge of energy.
The man with the twin blades was also enveloped in a golden light, his weapons emanating an overwhelming aura.
Another War God!
The Free Federation has actually sent two War Gods to encircle him.
Shu Mo Chen Lao!
Thunder Blade Long Zhou!
Both of them were elite members of the Lighthouse Guard within the military at the War God level.
"I would really like to know who I have offended," Lu Fei Fan said calmly, gazing at Long Zhou and Chen Lao.
Long Zhou and Chen Lao exchanged glances and nodded, deciding it was best to inform him.
"You are wanted for the murder of Bian Jian Major in the Great Whirlpool. Evidence has been submitted to the National Defense Department and the Military Police Department. A meeting has been held, and orders have been given to bring you back for questioning. We are just following orders," Chen Lao advised in a conciliatory tone.
“Those who are sensible should give up resistance. After all, your future is limitless. Facing me and Chen Lao, even if you are a top-tier General…” Long Zhou had not finished speaking when he suddenly froze in shock.
Lu Fei Fan's figure surged with overwhelming energy, and the sound of a heartbeat, reminiscent of an Ancient Behemoth, echoed through everyone’s bodies like a distant bell. Following this, Lu Fei Fan's aura soared higher and higher, gathering into a pillar of light that broke through the thick clouds above, stirring the heavy darkness around them.
Yet Lu Fei Fan's aura continued to rise, an astonishing presence that had already surpassed that of a General!
Boom!
Several bolts of lightning descended from the sky, crashing down around them, as if heralding the end of days.
This scene was also felt at the National Defense Department. Thunder Jun stood in his office, gazing into the distance. The generals present were suddenly taken aback as they sensed the birth of a new war god. They hurriedly moved to the windows to observe the swirling clouds disturbed by the pillar of light.
Soon after, someone reported the situation to a Female Major General, who promptly issued a new command.
Great Fox Manor sat cross-legged atop a building, sipping from a jug of wine when suddenly, amidst the heavy rain, a figure flashed beside him. Clad in black and wielding the Yan Luo Spear, Luo Jing appeared next to Great Fox Manor.
“Hmm? You’ve broken through to become a war god too?” Great Fox Manor did not lift his head.
“Indeed.” Luo Jing looked towards the distant pillar of light.
“With two war gods against him, I thought we had no chance. I didn’t expect this brat to surprise us,” Great Fox Manor remarked suddenly.
“Should we go take a look?” Luo Jing asked.
“No need. We can just intercept those coming from behind,” Great Fox Manor replied without looking up. Sure enough, moments later, several war god auras rushed in from afar.
“Here they come.” Great Fox Manor looked at the newcomers with excitement. “Three of them. You hold one off, and I’ll take on the other two.”
With that, he quickly pulled out a cloth to cover his face, and his figure vanished swiftly into the architecture. Luo Jing also donned a Demon Face Mask, shaking his spear in hand as countless raindrops scattered. His form transformed into a straight line, charging towards one of the foes imbued with the aura of a battle god.
Boom!
Lu Fei Fan was unaware that two sworn brothers were helping him intercept the enemies nearby.
He simply raised the Whale Devouring Sword in his hand, its blade glowing fiercely as it surged forward. The opponent wielding dual blades and the Tree Demon was sent flying by the overwhelming force of their combined attack, which was unexpectedly shattered by Lu Fei Fan’s astonishing sword strike!
“Senior brothers, I don’t wish to harm you. Please don’t make things difficult for me,” Lu Fei Fan said earnestly.
“Take another hit from me!” Long Zhou spun around, merging his dual blades into a single formidable weapon. Countless golden lightning bolts erupted around him as he charged forward, shattering numerous grounds and structures in his wake.
Lu Fei Fan swung his Whale Devouring Sword once more, delivering a strike that was straightforward yet imbued with unmatched power. The blade descended heavily, causing explosions of lightning around the furious blade.
Boom!
Countless stones and debris flew through the air as the lightning-infused blade was blasted back like a cannonball, crashing into a building and causing it to collapse, leaving its fate uncertain.
Tree Demon Chen Lao shook his head, looking at Lu Fei Fan with some resignation. “I really underestimated you. I can’t understand what those people at Military Headquarters are thinking—why would they want to capture someone with such immense potential? Given time, you would undoubtedly become the guardian deity of the Free Federation…”
“The Free Federation and I have reached our end. From now on, I am no longer a part of the Free Federation,” Lu Fei Fan declared. Suddenly, a thunderous roar echoed as a ship resembling a leaf descended from the clouds.
Chen Lao and the Military Major from the Free Federation stared in astonishment at this flying ship.
The vessel landed before Lu Fei Fan, who instructed for it to open its hatch.
“Mom, Dad, Hua Jun Tang, let’s go,” Lu Fei Fan signaled for everyone to board the Flying Ship.
They had never imagined that Lu Fei Fan actually owned a Flying Ship, and this one was unlike anything they had ever seen, surpassing the imagination of everyone, including the soldiers of the Free Federation.
Once aboard the Flying Ship, Lu Fei Fan took the helm.
Hua Feifan's Mother asked, “Fei Fan, where are we going?” She looked down with reluctance; it was the place where they had lived for decades, and leaving felt bittersweet.
Hua Jun Tang stood by his older brother's side and said, “Mom, there’s plenty of space in the world. Since those from the Free Federation have betrayed us, it’s better to leave this place.”
“Alas, your father hasn’t fully recovered yet. Is it wise to leave now?” Hua Feifan's Mother expressed her concern.
“Don’t worry, Mom. There are many hospitals better than those in the Free Federation. If necessary, we can go to the Alliance Empire,” Hua Jun Tang reassured her.
“Brother, where are we going?” Hua Jun Tang then turned to Lu Fei Fan.
“We’re heading to…” Lu Fei Fan looked outside and said, “the New World.”
The Flying Ship sped away, transforming into a streak of light as it vanished into the clouds above.
“Major, aren’t we sending a Flying Ship to pursue them?” someone asked the Military Lieutenant.
“Pursue?” The Military Lieutenant looked at the soldier as if he were foolish. “Even if you catch up, can you stop them? Didn’t you see that Chen Lao and Longzhou War God couldn’t stop them either?”
The soldier fell silent.
Not long after, the news of Lu Fei Fan's defection from the Free Federation spread like wildfire, implicating many in the investigation. Ultimately, the matter remained unresolved and faded into obscurity.
Far away in the Alliance Empire, there was an island perpetually shrouded in dark, heavy clouds. At the base of the central peak of this island stood a grand ancient temple, exuding an aura of darkness.
This was the summit of the Holy Mountain of the Crimson Council in the Alliance Empire.
Inside the cold and towering hall, dim lights flickered in a dark chamber. A stunningly beautiful and alluring woman sat on a high-backed main seat, resting her chin on her hand as she gazed down at the Black Armored Girl kneeling below her.
"Have you made your decision?" The woman's icy voice echoed throughout the hall.
"Yes," the girl replied succinctly and firmly.
"Good." With that, countless red threads shot out from her body, wrapping around the girl.
Suspended in mid-air by the blood threads, the girl closed her eyes without a hint of resistance, clearly resolute in her choice.
"You truly disappoint me," the Beautiful Woman sighed softly. In an instant, the blood threads absorbed her power, causing the girl to emit a heart-wrenching scream of pain as blood oozed from her hands and feet, pooling onto the ground below.
Time passed without notice until the blood threads finally released her. She fell to the ground, her face pale as she lay there.
"From now on, under my command as Dark Saintess Maria of the Crimson Council, there will be no more Dark Holy Judgment for this person." The woman looked down at the weakened girl with a cold expression that betrayed her disappointment.
The girl lowered her head, unable to meet her gaze.
"Thank... you."
Thank you contains so much.
"From now on... you shall be called Mo Ce."
"Yes." The girl looked up, wanting to see once more the woman who sat high above like a mother, but she had long since vanished.
She struggled to rise, her bare feet touching the cold floor of the grand hall. The remnants of blood left a twisted trail as she stumbled forward, falling several times before getting back up. When she finally stood at the entrance of the hall, gazing into the distance, the cold wind lifted her hair like a waterfall. Her delicate, frail face bore an unwavering determination; it was the direction toward a new world.
She had a new name and a new identity.
In the howling wind, she softly whispered two words.
"Wait for me."(THE END)
