The shockwave from the explosion rolled through the tunnel, accompanied by the sound of collapsing debris echoing everywhere.
Boom!
A figure engulfed in flames shot up from below; it was Lian Chongtang!
He broke through layers of fallen obstacles and landed on the ground. The boiling Pulse Energy around him evaporated into layers of crimson mist, which was neither sweat nor the humid fog in the air, but rather the blood that covered his body.
Several figures quickly flew to Lian Chongtang's side, leading the group were Lian Shuyang, Lian Qingzong, and Lian Shuzhou.
When they saw this pillar of their family, their faces turned pale with shock.
Before them, Lian Chongtang's shirt was nowhere to be found, his bare torso was drenched in blood, and a fine layer of blood droplets enveloped him—blood oozing from his pores. But soon, these tiny droplets were continuously evaporated into a faint mist by the boiling Pulse Energy surrounding him.
The sight was horrifying; he looked utterly disheveled and seemed precariously close to collapse.
Not only was Lian Chongtang's body in this state, but even his facial features were bleeding. He closed his eyes as two streams of blood-like tears slowly fell down his cheeks.
“Quick! Brilliant Soft Gold Liquid!” Lian Shuzhou exclaimed anxiously upon seeing his father in such a condition.
The Bald Man immediately turned around and began searching for space equipment with three or four remaining subordinates. However, amidst the chaos of battle, some had already lost their bags, making it quite troublesome to search. After rummaging for a while, they still hadn’t found any Brilliant Soft Gold Liquid.
“Hurry up, Shuyang!” Lian Shuzhou shouted desperately.
In a moment of panic, the Bald Man snatched a piece of equipment from one person and found a bottle of Brilliant Soft Gold Liquid on it. He hurriedly handed it over.
Lian Shuzhou quickly took it and twisted off the cap.
“This is the last bottle,” Lian Shuyang added for some unknown reason.
“Why not use ‘White Emperor Star Fruit’?” Lian Qingzong reminded from the side.
Lian Shuzhou also pulled out a ‘White Emperor Star Fruit’ and handed it over.
But Lian Chongtang suddenly opened his eyes, ignoring the blood and tears streaming down his face. He abruptly raised his head to look at the Flying Ship in the sky, which resembled a leaf. The open cannon ports glowed with shimmering energy, and then—whoosh!
The beams shot towards the location of the Lian Family again. This time, it wasn’t the previous Energy Cannon; instead, it was a series of thin beams that shot through the air like deadly white whips, racing towards them.
“Dodge!” Lian Chongtang pushed them all aside with a hand. Then, his gauntlet roared as he swung a powerful punch at the dense beams falling from above!
This punch erupted from Lian Chongtang’s body, and the gauntlet unleashed an astonishing amount of energy. All of his fighting intent converged into one fist, transforming into a crimson strike akin to a massive blow, accompanied by a thunderous sound as it tore through the air.
Inside the Ship, Lu Fei Fan gasped at this scene; this was the full-force strike of a war god!
After all, although a General and a War God were only one rank apart, that slight difference often translated into a significant gap in strength during battle!
Lian Chongtang’s desperate strike stemmed from two motivations: first, he harbored resentment from being injured by a previous cannon shot from this Flying Ship; second, he aimed to bring this Flying Ship crashing down since it hovered only about a hundred meters above. If he could destroy it, he might force its occupant to abandon ship and reveal who was targeting the Lian Family!
However, Lian Chongtang underestimated the capabilities of Lu Fei Fan’s Flying Ship. This exceptional vessel was not produced by the Free Federation; rather, it was a high-tech product of the Giant Race and had been modified from ancient relics left on this planet into a Flying Battleship. With offensive capabilities like the Data Analysis System, it naturally had defensive shields as well!
Sure enough, inside the Flying Ship, Lu Fei Fan heard the blaring alarm—clearly indicating that it had detected Lian Chongtang’s overwhelming crimson fist below. If hit, the Flying Ship would undoubtedly sustain damage.
“Defend!” Lu Fei Fan immediately issued commands to the Flying Ship.
The Flying Ship quickly responded with sounds; the alarm morphed into a soothing tone, creating a unique visual sensation that was hazy and indistinct.
Many people on the Ground also witnessed Lian Chongtang’s terrifying strike. If an ordinary person were to take that punch head-on, they would surely be gravely injured or even killed.
But just as that colossal fist was about to slam into the Flying Ship, it suddenly twisted in mid-air—boom!
The heavy punch struck the distorted figure of the Ship, causing many to rub their eyes in disbelief. It seemed as though the Flying Ship had been hit by that powerful blow, yet it also felt like it had somehow missed.
The explosion of Pulse Energy erupted in the air, creating ripples of energy that quickly spread through the atmosphere, making the surroundings appear as if they were ablaze.
However, in mid-air, the Ship had vanished and reappeared like a ghost on the other side.
Many witnesses were taken aback by this sight.
That punch had not hit the Flying Ship at all!
Lian Chongtang watched as the Flying Ship twisted and then appeared directly above him. The energy beams in the air had already gathered their power and were now roaring down like a torrential rain!
Lian Chongtang gasped for breath, his strength beginning to wane; he clearly could not withstand these concentrated beams.
“Grandfather!”
“Father!”
“Father!”
Lian Shuzhou, Lian Qingzong, and Lian Shuyang rushed to Lian Chongtang's side, activating their shields in a flurry.
Boom! Boom!
The shields of Lian Shuzhou and Lian Shuyang were shattered by the beams of light, sending both men flying as they coughed up blood. The light refracted off them, piercing through their bodies.
“Father!”
Lian Qingzong watched in horror as his father and uncle were struck by the relentless beams of light.
His Pulse Energy shield blocked the onslaught of dozens of beams of light, protecting his grandfather behind him. However, as soon as the first wave ended, a second wave surged forth. This time, it was not just a few beams but a dense barrage that slammed into his shield.
Boom!
The shield could no longer withstand the force, and he was thrown back.
On the ground, Lian Shuzhou raised the Teng She crossbow in his hand. The crossbow erupted with brilliant light, transforming into a powerful golden Teng She that shot towards the Flying Ship.
The Flying Ship shook slightly but did not plummet as expected. Instead, the Light Shield surrounding it vanished with a whoosh.
Lian Chongtang crouched low to the ground, and then with a loud bang, the ground erupted in a crater. The astonishingly powerful Lian Chongtang launched himself at the Flying Ship, raising his massive fist which reverberated in the air with a series of explosive sounds—bang, bang, bang—as he unleashed a fiery punch.
In the distance, the woman in the Qipao watched this scene unfazed. She raised her hand to steady the white Shen Ying resting in her grip, her half-masked face bearing a solemn expression.
“A full-force strike fueled by Pulse Energy? Hmph, it’s like a moth to a flame…” Wu Lao swung his blood-stained sword with disdain as he observed Lian Chongtang charging forward, clearly akin to a moth drawn to fire.
“Is this model of Flying Ship a product of the Alliance Empire?” asked the half-masked man beside her curiously.
The woman shook her head. “It shouldn’t be. If the Alliance Empire had such an advanced Flying Ship, they would have expanded their maritime territory long ago.”
“The Free Federation and Alliance Empire’s intelligence is well-known; truly impressive, Spider's Eye!” the man praised.
“Hmph, what a good Shangguan Wan'er,” Wu Lao remarked upon hearing this, unsure if it was genuine praise or sarcasm.
“Wu Lao, our positions differ. Next time we meet on the battlefield, I won’t hold back,” Shangguan Wan'er replied bluntly, showing no fear towards Wu Lao.
“Hmph, mere Rebels dare to boast. Do you believe I could…” Before he could finish, Shangguan Wan'er’s subordinates stepped forward one after another, drawing their Zhan Dao and glaring at Wu Lao.
Wu Lao fell silent; all his subordinates had been killed in the underground by Dongfang Hui and members of the Lian Family.
Naturally, these people were no match for Shangguan Wan'er.
"Alright, alright. I understand. Miss Shangguan's intelligence is crucial, and Wu Lao's funding is important. We can achieve a win-win situation for all three parties," said the young man, raising his hand to mediate.
Boom!
As he spoke, a loud explosion echoed through the air.
The three turned their heads in unison, their expressions shifting dramatically.
Lian Chongtang transformed into a fireball, blazing as he plummeted toward the ground. He crashed down with a thunderous impact, shaking the earth—bang, bang—
He smashed through layer after layer of underground caverns, descending into the depths below. The openings he created looked as if they had been melted by searing lava.
What had just happened?
It was too fast; no one had time to react.
Earlier, Lian Chongtang had intended to charge and strike the Flying Ship with a punch. However, the Flying Ship trembled slightly on its own. Just as Lian Chongtang thought he had succeeded, a surge of Pulse Energy coursed through his ship's body. In the next moment, the ship erupted with brilliant sparks of Dian Guang, and Lian Chongtang was struck by tens of thousands of volts of electricity.
But that wasn't the end. In the following instant, the ship retaliated by gathering all the Pulse Energy that had hit it and unleashed it back at Lian Chongtang with a resounding bang. His figure plummeted like a shooting star, and the last pair of gauntlets on his hands shattered and scattered into the air.
Thus, what they had just witnessed unfolded.
Lu Fei Fan was equally astonished. When Lian Chongtang struck the ship, he expected it to be blasted open and was filled with concern. However, the Flying Ship merely shuddered slightly; its cabin flickered darkly before suddenly shaking violently as immense energy rebounded.
Lian Chongtang fell as if severely injured.
Lu Fei Fan was left in shock—this Flying Ship could actually defend itself and counterattack?
Lu Fei Fan quickly pulled up the camera on the screen, magnifying the hole that Lian Chongtang had smashed through. It descended into the darkness below, reaching depths of over a hundred meters. How could it be so deep underground?
Lian Chongtang fell into the earth, embedded in the muddy ground. He wanted to move, but his body felt as if it had been shattered into pieces, and he was gasping for breath. The surroundings were dark, with only the beams of light from the layers of caves he had broken through illuminating him in a circle.
Suddenly, Lian Chongtang sensed something extremely dangerous behind him. A pair of dark red Vertical Eyes opened like a ghostly apparition. Before he could react, something shot towards him from the darkness like a bolt of dark red lightning. In a desperate instinct to survive, Lian Chongtang gathered his remaining Pulse Energy and raised both hands!
A roar erupted, chilling to the bone.
The dark red entity whipped around again, quickly binding Lian Chongtang completely. With a swift tug, there was a loud thud!
The darkness was filled with explosive sounds, followed by the chaotic sounds of a struggle. In the pitch-black void, flames erupted and then quickly extinguished.
Finally, there were a few muffled groans, followed by the sickening sound of bones breaking.
