Suddenly, all the subordinates raised their weapons, aiming at Lu Fei Fan. 0

Several burning gasoline barrels illuminated the dark muzzles of the guns, revealing faces flickering with a mix of fear and tension. These faces were young, some even terrified of death. 0

In this era, everyone knew what role a Fuser played. 0

"Interesting," Mo San Shao said as he stood up, looking at Lu Fei Fan. 0

"Your friend injured my men. How do you plan to settle this?" Mo San Shao stared at Lu Fei Fan, his eyes showing no sign of fear. 0

Lu Fei Fan narrowed his eyes at this spoiled young man, sighed, and flicked his knife. A scream echoed from the dark corner. 0

There was no need to pay attention to the one crouching in the corner with a gun aimed at himself. Lu Fei Fan disliked dealing with such privileged youths. Even though he had grown up in a military compound, he had dealt with many who abused their power there. 0

In this world, it seemed that for every arrogant youth dealt with, another would emerge. The incident with his brother was one example; now this bullying of Jiu Ye was another. 0

Perhaps his purpose in this world was not to bring peace but to wield the sword instead. 0

Lu Fei Fan swung his fist, sending the shocked Mo San Shao flying. His front teeth were knocked out, blood spraying into the air as he crashed heavily to the ground. A group rushed to help him up, shielding him in the center. 0

"Get lost!" Lu Fei Fan coldly regarded these lackeys. He had no interest in dealing with them, so he unleashed his Pulse Energy and shouted. The sound echoed through the alley, shattering all the glass in the buildings on either side and causing many nearby to clutch their ears and fall to the ground. 0

Those outside witnessing Lu Fei Fan's display of power saw a few brave souls attempt to fire their weapons. Suddenly, Fu Qinqin's sniper rifle rang out from behind them. 0

The weapons in those few hands were shattered, forcing them to retreat rapidly as the crowd ebbed away like a tide. 0

The empty alley was left with burning gasoline barrels fiercely ablaze. Lu Fei Fan helped Jiu Ye sit against the wall by the fire and tossed him a can of water. He tilted it back and gulped down its contents with a satisfying "puh!" 0

Blood sprayed from his mouth, and he took a deep breath before swallowing again. 0

Fu Qinqin jumped a few times from the dark house and landed beside Jiu Ye to check his injuries. 0

Lu Fei Fan glanced at the noodle shop; a girl had knocked over many things as she rushed upstairs. Just as he took a step to investigate, Jiu Ye grabbed his pants to stop him. 0

Fu Qinqin shook her head at Lu Fei Fan, who then halted and looked up at the second floor of the noodle shop, where it seemed there was nothing but darkness. 0

"Let's go," Lu Fei Fan said as he squatted down to carry Jiu Ye on his back, leaving this place of trouble behind. 0

Fu Qinqin stared at the house, pondering for a moment before following Lu Fei Fan out. 0

Jiu Ye had been stabbed several times, but all were superficial wounds. The blood he coughed up was due to internal injuries; four of his ribs were broken. Fortunately, he was strong enough to avoid any ruptured organs or internal bleeding. 0

This was the report given by the doctor when Lu Fei Fan brought him to the hospital. 0

Before long, Fu Qinqin arrived at the hospital with a horse team and Da Fu Ge. Soon after, Da Biao, Cai Bi, Jia Jia, and others hurriedly came to the hospital. Upon seeing Jiu Ye lying in bed in such a condition, they would have rushed off to find that Mo San Shao for revenge if not for the horse team's intervention. 0

Lu Fei Fan then noticed a middle-aged man with a friendly demeanor and a slight belly who had been accompanying the horse team all along. He was frequently checking with the hospital doctors about Jiu Ye's condition and advising on some details. 0

"This is Dong Supervisor, the person in charge of Mr. Jiang's establishment. He specifically came with us to check on things," Da Fu Ge introduced Lu Fei Fan. 0

"Hello, my name is..." Lu Fei Fan began to introduce himself. 0

"I know you; you are Lu Fei Fan," Dong Supervisor said with a warm smile as he extended his large hand for a handshake. "Mr. Jiang occasionally mentions you." 0

Lu Fei Fan couldn't help but feel a bit flattered as he said, "It's rare for Mr. Jiang to remember me. I should pay him a visit soon." 0

Dong Supervisor nodded, but suddenly his gaze pierced through Lu Fei Fan, narrowing as he looked toward the entrance of the hospital. Four tall men walked in with steady steps, forming a protective formation around a frail old man who leaned on a cane. 0

In that instant, as Lu Fei Fan turned around, a wave of immense Pulse Energy surged through the brightly lit corridor, crashing in like a tidal wave! 0

Bang! Bang! Bang— 0

The glass light tubes in the corridor shattered one after another, darkness creeping in from the end of the hallway. 0

But an invisible wall of Pulse Energy rose abruptly, thud! 0

The oncoming Pulse Energy collided with it like hitting a steel plate. Dong Supervisor took half a step back, watching the old man with the cane. They halted in the flickering light of the corridor, standing like mysterious figures caught between darkness and light. 0

Many people in the hospital hurriedly avoided them. 0

The group led by Da Fu, Jia Jia, and Da Biao all stood behind Tong Lao, while Fu Qinqin and Cai Bi reached for their weapons. 0

The Withered Elder had a sunken face and sparse hair that was impeccably clean. Dressed in black with gold trim, he stood before Dong Supervisor and scanned those confronting him before finally fixing his gaze on Lu Fei Fan. 0

"You are the one who injured my grandson?" The old man's voice was low and hollow, like a decaying echo. 0

"Yes," Lu Fei Fan replied, meeting his gaze without any intention of backing down. The silent surge of Pulse Energy from earlier clearly indicated that this was someone he could not contend with—at least a Top War General. He himself was merely a Fuser who hadn’t even reached the elite threshold; he likely stood no chance against such power. 0

"Hmph." The old man chuckled softly, but his collapsed face couldn't muster any muscle to form a proper smile. His expression turned cold as he slammed his cane against the ground. "Kneel!" 0

The invisible power sent a shiver through everyone present, causing the members of the horse team to tremble, their legs nearly giving way as they almost knelt down. 0

Fortunately, the Dong Supervisor stepped forward, and a sudden warmth dispelled the oppressive pressure that had gripped everyone. It felt as if a hand that had been squeezing their hearts had suddenly released its grip, allowing them to breathe freely as they looked at the terrifying old man. 0

“Mo Laoxian,” the Dong Supervisor interrupted. 0

“Who are you?” The old man glared at this interloper who had repeatedly disrupted his pressure, his demeanor aggressive and unfriendly. 0

“I am the Dong Supervisor from the Xuanwu Guild,” the Dong Supervisor introduced himself humbly. 0

“Hmph!” The old man scrutinized the Dong Supervisor. “What business do you have with the Xuanwu Guild?” 0

“It was Mr. Jiang who sent me to take a look,” the Dong Supervisor replied casually. 0

“Jiang Wannian?” The old man's eyes widened in disbelief. 0

“Indeed,” the Dong Supervisor said with a gentle smile. 0

The old man glanced at Lu Fei Fan and then back at the Dong Supervisor, incredulously asking, “What is his relationship with Jiang Wannian?” 0

“Oh, they are teacher and student,” the Dong Supervisor explained succinctly. 0

“A student?” The old man’s beard bristled in anger as he poked his cane against the floor. “Hmph! He dares to vouch for this boy?” 0

Tong Lao smiled gently, maintaining his warm demeanor. “Mr. Jiang has requested this favor. He is someone who is about to leave here, and if provoked, he might do something rash before he departs.” 0

“You... you all... hmph, how do you plan to handle this matter?” The old man seemed quite furious and had no intention of letting it go easily. 0

“Mr. Jiang means that this is merely a childish quarrel among the younger generation, and we adults should not get involved. We hope that Mo Laoxian will refrain from involvement as well,” Tong Lao said gently throughout, yet there was an underlying tone of assertiveness in his words. 0

The old man, exasperated, jabbed his cane and muttered several words: “Fine, fine, fine. Good for you, Jiang Wannian. We at the Mo Family will remember this!” 0

With that, he turned and walked away. After taking a few steps, he turned back to look at Lu Fei Fan. 0

“Young man, he cannot protect you for a lifetime; I hope you have enough luck for the rest of your days.” 0

With that, he leaned on his cane and calmly left the hospital. 0

Once the old man was gone, the horse team and Da Fu finally breathed a sigh of relief. Even Supervisor Dong seemed to relax slightly, fearing that the old man might act unruly and cause chaos in the hospital, which would be difficult to explain. 0

“Supervisor Dong, who was that person...” the horse team asked with curiosity. 0

“He is from the Mo Family,” Supervisor Dong replied, glancing down the corridor to ensure they had truly left before turning back. 0

“Could he be the famous General Mo Jiangnan from decades ago?” Da Fu Ge exchanged a shocked glance with the horse team. 0

“Is he the father of someone well-known?” Cai Bi seemed to have realized something about the other’s identity. 0

“Who?” Lu Fei Fan was puzzled about who they were referring to. 0

“The father-in-law of the 'Man God'...” Da Fu Ge explained. 0

“‘Man God’ is?” Lu Fei Fan seemed to find the name quite familiar. 0

“Free Federation's Newly Ascended War God, ‘Man God’. Haven't you been following the news lately? He's making quite a splash, having just slain a Top Armored Seahorse Beast that crossed the Juhai Great Wall and wreaked havoc on the islands!” Da Biao explained to Lu Fei Fan, clearly well-informed. 0

“That’s quite something! We’re not even top-tier; I bet we wouldn’t stand a chance against a Level Three Sea Monster. Just one of those could cause a disaster in this city,” Cai Bi sighed softly. “Sigh, how did we end up kicking a steel plate?” 0

Fu Qinqin kicked this fellow who was boosting others' morale while dampening their own. 0

The horse team and Da Fu Ge had grim expressions as they turned to look at Jiu Ye, who lay unconscious on the hospital bed, wrapped in bandages like a mummy. 0

“Don’t worry, I will report this matter to President Jiang,” Dong Supervisor assured them. 0

“Then we’ll have to trouble you, Dong Supervisor.” The horse team had no choice but to rely on the Xuanwu Guild; in this world, if the weak didn’t have strong protectors, they were no different from mere ants. 0

Man God? 0

Lu Fei Fan wasn’t afraid; instead, he felt a sense of anticipation. It seemed he needed to accelerate his growth because there were simply too many unexpected troubles in this world. 0

Especially now that he was truly stepping onto the stage of this world to fight. 0
