Lu Fei Fan slipped into a building, using the cover of the dark night to navigate through the structure seamlessly. 0

He could clearly sense that someone was following him. He ducked into a dark room, lowering his breathing to nearly imperceptible levels. From a distance, he blended into the shadows of the night. 0

The adjustments of the Pulse Breathing Technique flowed through him, and soon he felt nothing at all in the darkness. 0

Before long, three or four calm, suited pursuers passed through the alley where Lu Fei Fan was hiding. Two of them turned back to examine the area closely but found no trace of him in the dark, forcing them to continue their search elsewhere. 0

Just as Lu Fei Fan considered moving again, he felt as if he had fallen into an ice pit. He quickly halted his Pulse Breathing Technique, holding his breath and slipping into a state of feigned death. 0

Moments later, a powerful aura swept by. Lu Fei Fan could tell that this presence was significantly stronger than many others he had encountered; facing such a person would leave him with no chance of victory. 0

Fortunately, that aura soon moved on, perhaps unaware of his presence. 0

Lu Fei Fan resumed his heartbeat and stabilized himself with the Pulse Breathing Technique. He felt as if there were a vortex expanding nearby, and he was teetering on its edge, always at risk of being consumed. 0

The earlier powerful aura had calmed him considerably. After some contemplation, he realized that continuing to search within this base was futile; it would be better to draw attention to himself instead. 0

Gunfire continued to echo throughout the base, but Lu Fei Fan paid it no mind. 0

In one of the supply warehouses within the base, security had been tightened. The chaos inside had not yet subsided; the elite soldiers who had escaped from prison were still putting up a fight. As a result, when someone stealthily entered the warehouse, they went unnoticed. 0

The vast warehouse was piled high with supplies. At the entrance stood guards patrolling, while sentinels kept watch outside. 0

After a while, one guard slipped into a corner to relieve himself. Suddenly, a sharp dagger emerged and pressed against his throat. 0

The autumn chill seeped into his bones, making him shiver. He glanced toward the darkness in the corner of the warehouse and caught sight of cold, indifferent eyes watching him—eyes devoid of any sympathy. He knew that if he made even the slightest wrong move, his throat would be easily slit without hesitation. 0

He stood frozen in place, feeling somewhat at a loss. 0

Lu Fei Fan dragged him into a corner, pressing the sharp blade against his throat, drawing a thin line of blood. The man, terrified, struggled against the wall behind him, but there was no escape; the wall held him firmly in place. 0

“Don’t move!” Lu Fei Fan narrowed his eyes and yanked on his collar, slamming him against the wall. 0

The other man swallowed hard, nervously fearing that he might say something wrong. 0

“Besides those locked up in the cells, who else is being held here?” Lu Fei Fan asked him in a low voice. 0

“I—I—I…” The man’s gaze darted around, his nervousness making him stutter. It was clear he was hesitating between answering or remaining silent. 0

“If you don’t tell me, I’ll slice your throat open! Don’t worry, I won’t let you die quickly. I’ll take my time cutting your throat, letting your warm blood spray out. Do you know what it looks like when a throat is cut? The last time I did it, the blood shot up half a meter high while he was still screaming…” Lu Fei Fan described the gruesome scene with enthusiasm. 0

The man trembled in fear, nearly losing his balance. It was only Lu Fei Fan’s grip that kept him from collapsing. However, Lu Fei Fan noticed that this fellow had actually wet himself; it seemed his courage was lacking despite daring to be a guard. 0

Yet Lu Fei Fan felt relieved. If he had caught a tough one, it would have been troublesome for him; if the other party stubbornly held out, he might not get any information at all. 0

“I… I…” The man blurted out in fear. 0

“Good. Quickly tell me where they are being held,” Lu Fei Fan nodded, easing the pressure of the knife slightly to give him a glimmer of hope. 0

“In a cellar on the west side of the base.” The man hurriedly finished his sentence, fearing that any delay would result in the blade slicing through his throat. 0

“How many guards are there?” Lu Fei Fan pressed the knife back against his throat. 0

"Looks like there’s a team," the other person said, sounding uncertain. 0

"Good," Lu Fei Fan replied, nodding with satisfaction before swiftly plunging a dagger into his heart. 0

The man stared at Lu Fei Fan in horror, then glanced down at the spreading bloodstains on his chest, which quickly soaked through his clothes. He lifted his head to look at Lu Fei Fan, his expression seemingly questioning why this was happening. 0

Lu Fei Fan withdrew the dagger and released his grip on the man's collar. He slumped to the ground, his head tilted as if he had fallen asleep. 0

"Sorry about that, but I kept my promise—I didn’t cut your throat." 0

With a low murmur, Lu Fei Fan flipped the body over and placed a hand grenade beneath it, pulling the pin before making his way out. 0

Not long after Lu Fei Fan left, a loud explosion erupted, and thick smoke billowed from the warehouse. 0

Navigating through the darkness of the buildings, Lu Fei Fan didn’t look back to check. Taking advantage of the chaos, he quickly avoided the searchlights and reached a cellar guarded by a team. 0

Many people were engaged in combat here; it seemed that some of Berg's subordinates had escaped from prison and were now cornered. 0

The sound of gunfire intensified, working to Lu Fei Fan's advantage. He charged in, unable to distinguish between friend and foe amidst the bullet-riddled street battle. He fired at anyone he saw, taking down four or five people along the way until he reached the cellar. 0

Surprisingly fortunate, he found seven or eight bodies inside—indistinguishable as to which side they belonged. Clearly, the guards here had already engaged in fierce combat. Lu Fei Fan rushed over and kicked aside a box that was blocking the cellar entrance before drawing his firearm and blasting off the lock above. 0

He then lifted the cellar cover. The dark interior revealed nothing clearly; he searched around and found a flashlight on one of the guard's bodies. Turning it on, he jumped into the cellar. 0

Following the stairs down to an iron door, he heard sounds coming from within. 0

“Captain!” Lu Fei Fan called out, trying to get a response. 0

After a while, a voice came from inside. 0

“Fei Fan?” 0

Suddenly, a face appeared at the iron door, along with several others. Lu Fei Fan shone his flashlight, revealing the weary faces of the cavalry team pressed against the door. 0

Filled with joy, Lu Fei Fan rushed over, shot off the padlock on the iron door, and pulled it open. 0

A few members of the cavalry stepped out, and upon closer inspection, Lu Fei Fan realized he didn’t recognize any of them. 0

“These are all captains from other Special Operations Teams; they were locked up by that Lancer,” the cavalry leader explained, introducing the other prisoners who had been released alongside them. 0

“Follow me.” Lu Fei Fan nodded at the captains who looked at him with gratitude and turned to lead the way out. 0

Once outside the cellar, they quickly armed themselves with weapons and ammunition from the surrounding bodies. 0

“What’s going on?” The cavalry leader asked as he looked at the chaotic sounds of gunfire outside; it seemed like there was a riot at the base. 0

“I’m not sure yet,” Lu Fei Fan replied. He decided to keep it brief; their immediate priority was to get everyone out of there safely. 0

The captains nodded in agreement and formed an assault team. They fought their way through the urban warfare towards the exit, with Lu Fei Fan leading them. They managed to break through smoothly from the most intense area of conflict. 0

As they exited through the barbed wire passage where the Fei Hu Battle Team had retreated, Lu Fei Fan finally had time to explain to the cavalry leader that the Fei Hu Battle Team had already evacuated. 0

Several captains were cursing the Lancer as they made their way, though they were unaware of the events that had transpired. Some of the captains had just arrived from the port, taking a break before heading out again. 0

Little did they know that the Lancer had locked them all up, and they couldn't figure out what the Lancer was planning. 0

"Alright, let's hurry and leave this place. I will report what happened here to the headquarters of the Federal Expeditionary Force," the cavalryman reassured the captains as he prepared to withdraw. 0

"Look, over by the base!" Suddenly, one of the captains shouted, pointing toward the direction of the base. 0

Lu Fei Fan and the cavalrymen turned their heads to look at the base. 0

What they saw was a spectacular scene: four Rocket Artilleries were being dragged up, booming in mid-air and exploding into bursts of fiery smoke. 0

Even more astonishing was that amidst the explosions, a figure in a black robe was diving down! 0

However, Ground immediately unleashed a barrage of bullets toward that elusive figure, but it moved like a nimble bird, evading each shot with ease. 0

Lu Fei Fan's vision was clearer than that of the cavalrymen; he could see clearly from a hundred meters away and recognized that figure as someone familiar… 0

A wave of emotions surged within him, leaving him somewhat hesitant. 0

Noticing Lu Fei Fan's expression, the cavalryman asked, "A friend?" 0

"Well... I suppose so," Lu Fei Fan replied uncertainly. 0

"Then as a friend, we certainly can't just stand by and watch," the cavalryman said, gazing at the bustling scene at the base with a sense of nostalgia. 0

“Do you need our help?” a captain beside him asked. 0

“No, thank you.” Lu Fei Fan declined, his expression serious as he addressed the cavalry. “I’ll go back myself.” 0

The cavalry wanted to say something, but then they remembered Lu Fei Fan’s Black and White Wings during the breakout. Confident that he could escape without being pursued, they realized that returning would only make them a burden. In the end, one of them patted Lu Fei Fan on the shoulder and said, “Take care. We’ll be waiting for you at the port.” 0

A few other captains came over to bid farewell to Lu Fei Fan, some expressing their gratitude with a pat on the shoulder and mentioning that he could reach out to the Special Operations Team if he needed anything in the future. 0

Once these farewells were done, the cavalry nodded, feeling that no further words were necessary. 0

Finally, Lu Fei Fan turned around and took a deep breath as he faced the base engulfed in gunfire and flames. 0

He recalled the powerful aura he had sensed earlier; there was definitely a formidable being among them. 0

“Let it be,” he resolved, turning his back on the cavalry and heading toward that place without looking back. The scene was eerily similar to when he had said goodbye to the members of the Fei Hu Battle Team before retreating alone to save his captain. 0
