The strong smell of disinfectant in the laboratory mingled with many other unfamiliar odors, but what truly conveyed a sense of bloodiness was not the bizarre and deformed specimens cultivated in the Glass Slot, nor the intense and unpleasant mixture of smells. 0

It was the Surgical Table laid bare before Lu Fei Fan, which more accurately resembled a dissection table. 0

On the metal Surgical Table, a living Human Body was secured, its limbs bound by several layers of Metal Straps, and its waist tightly restrained with two additional Metal Straps. 0

What shocked Lu Fei Fan was that the Chest Cavity of this Human Body had been opened up; even the Skeleton of the Chest Cavity had been removed, revealing complex internal organs that still pulsated with life, especially the vibrant Heart. 0

Lu Fei Fan was not a professional medical personnel. Even though he had witnessed gruesome scenes on the battlefield in his past life, where enemies were blown to pieces by artillery fire, this living Human Body experiment still left him utterly stunned. 0

Moreover, the man lying on the Surgical Table, appearing as if he were merely asleep... Lu Fei Fan recognized him. 0

This person was none other than Berg! 0

Lu Fei Fan was so horrified that he momentarily lost his ability to speak. 0

“How about it? Don’t you think the structure of the Human Body is simply a perfect work of art? Heh heh.” Tang Kede chuckled darkly at Lu Fei Fan’s expression. 0

“What is he doing here?” Lu Fei Fan aimed his gun at this psychopath wielding a scalpel. 0

“Oh, the process of getting him here is a bit complicated,” Tang Kede seemed unfazed by Lu Fei Fan's threat. “Well, sometimes sacrifices are inevitable for a noble cause.” 0

“What are you... doing to him?” Lu Fei Fan asked again. 0

“Just making some adjustments,” Tang Kede shrugged casually. 0

“If you don’t mind... can I...” Tang Kede picked up a syringe filled with Blue Liquid and began injecting it into the blood vessel next to the Heart. 0

“All done.” After completing this task, Tang Kede appeared to be waiting for results. He started to remove his mask and took off his surgical gloves, tossing them aside into the Sink. He began washing his hands leisurely, as if there were no danger at all, even though Lu Fei Fan's gun never wavered from his head. 0

Lu Fei Fan had many questions swirling in his mind, but Tang Kede, with his cunning demeanor, revealed nothing. It was clear that he was not intimidated by Lu Fei Fan's threats; Lu Fei Fan could sense that if he were to pull the trigger, Tang Kede would show no sign of fear. 0

The reason Tang Kede had sent his subordinates away was twofold: first, he feared that Lu Fei Fan might shoot, which would jeopardize the completion of his experiment. 0

"What is your true purpose for coming here?" Lu Fei Fan finally asked the question that had been on his mind since they arrived at the base. 0

"Experimentation," Tang Kede replied honestly, turning to smile at Lu Fei Fan. "Don't you want to see how humanity evolves when we alter its genetic makeup?" 0

"You are using human subjects for your experiments!" Lu Fei Fan stated with absolute certainty. 0

"Young man, knowing too much can be detrimental to you. The Free Federation's Alpha Agency is not merely an experimental organization," Tang Kede said cryptically. 0

Lu Fei Fan fell silent. Alpha Agency? 0

This was the first time he had heard of this mysterious organization. From Tang Kede's serious warning, it was evident that this group was vast and formidable, possibly harboring many clandestine sub-organizations or departments. 0

"Oh, by the way," Tang Kede suddenly changed the subject. "Let me give you a friendly reminder." 0

"What is it?" Lu Fei Fan felt an ominous premonition. 0

"Always watch your back!" Tang Kede finished. 0

Startled, Lu Fei Fan quickly turned his gun around to face behind him. But before he could react further, a metal table came crashing toward him. He slammed against the wall with a loud thud, causing several glass jars and curtains to fall! 0

He rolled away just in time as a metal frame leg shot like an arrow into the wall! 0

Half-kneeling on the ground, Lu Fei Fan quickly adjusted his Pulse Breathing Technique. Fortunately, the 'Gods' Armor' had absorbed most of the impact; otherwise, he would have been in serious trouble. 0
In the distance, Berg had already broken free from the Surgical Table, the alchemical restraints seemingly torn apart. What on earth had Tang Kede injected him with? 0

But the laboratory was already empty; Tang Kede had long since vanished. 0

Wait, where was Berg? 0

Lu Fei Fan suddenly looked up, and to his horror, he saw that behind Berg's body were writhing masses of flesh, like living Tentacles, binding him to the Hua Ban. He noticed Berg looking at him with a strange smile before he lunged forward with a thunderous crash! 0

Boom! 0

The ground was blasted into a crater as Lu Fei Fan dodged and quickly threw a Hand Grenade into the pit. 0

Bang! 0

In the violent explosion, a dark figure was hurled from the crater, lunging at Lu Fei Fan like a terrifying creature. Lu Fei Fan fired three shots from his Lie Hound! 0

Bang, bang, bang! 0

The large-caliber bullets from the Dian Guang struck the charging shadow, sending it crashing against the wall. 0

Lu Fei Fan didn’t have time to check if it was alive or dead; he turned and sprinted toward the exit. 0

But a flesh-like tendril, moving with the speed of a Death Scythe, swept across the laboratory in an instant—bang, bang, bang— 0

The entire lab was devastated as glass experiment pods shattered and countless objects—both structural and metallic—were severed in half, all aimed directly at Lu Fei Fan! 0

He bent low to avoid the sweeping tendril and watched as it retracted back to the upright figure of Berg. 0

Or perhaps it was no longer the Berg he once knew; his lower body had transformed into a writhing mass of flesh. Tentacles supported his form while his upper body retained a semblance of human shape. Yet that tendril shot out from his open Chest Cavity, and as it pulled back, the writhing masses on either side of his Chest Cavity automatically closed up. 0

Lu Fei Fan felt an inexplicable tension; this creature looked too horrifying! 0

What was even more chilling was the way it smiled at Lu Fei Fan, as if they were old friends meeting again. 0

Lu Fei Fan couldn't tell if the creature, Berg, still retained any memories, but judging by its terrifying mutations, it could no longer be considered a complete human. 0

For some reason, Lu Fei Fan was reminded of the woman, Shui Que, who always accompanied Berg, draped in her Rain Cloak. 0

"Alas." He sighed, wondering how she was doing now. If she had also turned into something like this, what a pity that would be. 0

Just as Lu Fei Fan's sigh lingered in the air, Berg lunged forward like a gust of wind. 0

Lu Fei Fan's Lie Hound was already primed and ready! 0

Bang! Bang! Bang— 0

In a flash, Lu Fei Fan pulled the trigger. The large-caliber bullets tore through the air, creating a dense barrage that completely blocked Berg's path. Two shots hit home with a thunderous explosion, sending chunks of flesh flying. 0

But Berg also collided with Lu Fei Fan, slamming into him with tremendous force and crashing through the laboratory wall. In that instant, both man and monster were hurled out into the ruins! 0

Boom! 0

They fell from several stories high to the ground below, then quickly separated. Lu Fei Fan's clothes were tattered, with writhing chunks of flesh clinging to him. He shook himself violently, stomping on them or slicing them apart with his gleaming Silver Sparrow! 0

Standing upright like a crab, Berg stared at Lu Fei Fan, seemingly lost in thought. Its lower half was a mass of writhing meatballs, with grotesque appendages extending outward like crawling insects. 0

Without hesitation, they charged at each other again and engaged in a fierce struggle! 0

Lu Fei Fan's silver blade moved like a whirlwind, while Berg's red limbs struck back with the sharpness of blades in their close-quarters combat. 0

The two of them rolled across the open space in front of the Experimental Building like a wind ball, the ground splattered with knife marks and scattered chunks of meat, a testament to the ferocity of the battle. 0

They darted from the square into an alley, where the walls on both sides exploded, and then they extended from the alley to the rooftops, eventually landing back in the Training Ground plaza of the base! 0

This was a life-and-death struggle that required immense patience. Lu Fei Fan was not a machine, yet he calculated every inch of his defense and offense with precision, as if he were one. A moment's carelessness could lead to a heavy blow from this mutated monster, whose relentless attacks came in waves, leaving him gasping for breath. 0

As the battle progressed onto the Training Ground, suddenly, searchlights from the guard towers around the base illuminated the area, shining down on the fierce clash between 6 Berg and Lu Fei Fan. 0

Lu Fei Fan quickly separated from 6 Berg. He didn’t dare look at the lights but focused entirely on 6 Berg. 0

6 Berg seemed unfazed; he paused to glance into the distance before turning back to Lu Fei Fan. The mass of flesh writhing below him began to retract the chunks of meat Lu Fei Fan had previously sliced off, merging them back into one cohesive mass. 0

“Che!” This surprised Lu Fei Fan; it was indeed troublesome. He had come back to rescue Captain, and getting entangled with him now was not worth it. 0

Lu Fei Fan swiftly dashed into a building. When 6 Berg attempted to follow him, a barrage of machine gun fire erupted— 0

The bullets kicked up clouds of dirt as they rained down. He tried to retreat and find another way out, but was quickly trapped by bullets from all directions. 0

Suddenly, thick metal pillars fell from above with a thunderous crash, piercing into the ground and surrounding him. In an instant, they formed a cage that sealed off all escape routes. 0

6 Berg leaped up from the ground but was met with something even faster. 0

Boom! Boom! Boom! 0

From all four directions, someone fired rocket launchers that unleashed metal nets descending upon him! 0

He landed back on the ground as a powerful energy enveloped this cage from above. 0

In anger, he slammed against the metal net. The energy swirling around it ignited sparks as it burned him, and he let out a piercing scream like that of a wild beast. 0

In the distance, atop a watchtower, Bai Xu, the Lancer, gazed indifferently at everything happening in the Training Ground. Behind him stood a towering giant draped in a bulging Rain Cloak, resembling an impenetrable wall. 0

Tang Kede approached respectfully and reported, "My lord, there was a slight incident, but we managed to control it." 0

The Lancer squinted his eyes and said darkly, "Who is that person who is on par with this thing?" 0

Tang Kede stroked his chin and replied, "He is a member of the Fei Hu Battle Team." 0

The Lancer nodded and instructed the giant behind him, "Go back and look into this person's background." 0

"Understood," the giant replied mechanically. 0

"Colonel, what’s next?" Tang Kede inquired. 0

"The traps are already set. Now... we just wait for the prey to enter," the Lancer said, his anticipation growing as he watched the struggling Berg thrashing about in the Cage. 0
