Lu Fei Fan looked at the few people blocking his path, their vigilant battle stances not resembling those of ordinary novices.
Before Lu Fei Fan could charge forward, they attacked first.
Each of them wielded a dagger or a Zhan Dao, clearly intending to engage in close combat to subdue Lu Fei Fan. Lu Fei Fan's fangs suddenly emerged, clashing against the daggers of two attackers, sparks flying in the midst of the skirmish.
Lu Fei Fan executed his Nine Palace Steps once again, his elusive figure causing the four to miss their coordinated strikes time and again. Even when they cornered him, they still couldn't find a flaw in his defense.
Seizing a fleeting opportunity, Lu Fei Fan unleashed the Fang Tooth Battle Blade, sweeping it toward one of the attackers' abdomen with a sudden, forceful strike.
The man staggered back a few steps, clutching the spot that had been struck. He first checked himself and then moved his limbs, his eyes widening in shock as he stared at Lu Fei Fan. With a look of disbelief, he knelt and coughed up blood before collapsing unconscious.
The remaining three did not relent at their comrade's fall; instead, their assault intensified. Two daggers glimmered ominously as they aimed for Lu Fei Fan's neck. Lu Fei Fan bent down, spinning the Fang Tooth Battle Blade and delivering another Horrific Wave Slaps Stone aimed at one man's abdomen!
Bang.
The man was sent flying back, crashing into a rock and writhing in pain on the ground.
With only one attacker left wielding two daggers, Lu Fei Fan continued to maneuver with his Nine Palace Steps, skillfully swinging the Fang Tooth Battle Blade toward him. The blade sliced through the air with a tearing sound as it aimed for the man's legs. The attacker hurriedly withdrew his daggers to block against Lu Fei Fan's low strike!
Clang!
Suddenly, he looked up in shock; before he could react, Lu Fei Fan's fist slammed into his face with a sickening crunch as his nose broke.
He clutched his nose and screamed in pain while retreating. Lu Fei Fan followed up with a kick to his chin, sending him sprawling backward onto the ground where he lay unconscious from the impact.
Just then, a sharp glint came from behind as another dagger lunged toward Lu Fei Fan's back. He slightly shifted with his Nine Palace Steps, causing the dagger's blade to miss entirely and slice through the air above his shoulder.
“Your footwork is…” The man was somewhat taken aback, finally noticing something different.
Lu Fei Fan lunged toward his neck with the Blade. He tilted his head, exerting all his strength to evade Lu Fei Fan’s strike, but the Blade seemed to stick to the space between his neck, swirling back and forth. He kept twisting his head away, but Lu Fei Fan’s raised foot came crashing down. In a moment of desperation, he raised both hands to block with his dagger.
Bang.
He was kicked back several steps, barely regaining his balance when the Fang Tooth Battle Blade came crashing down like a mountain splitting stone!
Clang!
The clash of Lu Fei Fan’s knife against the dagger sparked brightly, but Lu Fei Fan quickly withdrew his weapon and swept again before the opponent could retract his dagger in defense.
Bang.
The man was sent flying, and Lu Fei Fan charged forward, delivering a punch to his abdomen. The opponent's contorted face splattered with mucus.
By the time he hit the ground, he had already struggled in pain twice before passing out completely.
As the battle with the four ended, Lu Fei Fan looked up at Jin Xiangwen, who was already over a hundred meters away.
“You run really fast.” Lu Fei Fan observed the fleeing figure and quickly sheathed his Zhan Dao, hurrying after him.
In just a few breaths, he closed the distance by several dozen meters. Lu Fei Fan kicked up a flying stone and accurately hurled it at Jin Xiangwen’s leg.
As Jin Xiangwen ran desperately, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his right leg and fell to his knees. When he turned to see who had come, he found Lu Fei Fan already lunging toward him, drawing the Zhan Dao and bringing it down toward him.
Kneeling on the ground, he raised his Energy Rifle in defense!
A loud crack echoed through the air.
The Energy Rifle split in two, but it also neutralized Lu Fei Fan's strike that had not utilized Pulse Energy.
Jin Xiangwen took a few steps back, drawing a spiked weapon from his waist and gripping it firmly.
Lu Fei Fan regarded this Fellow without hesitation, unleashing his Zhan Dao, which transformed into a flurry of blade shadows, layered and infused with sharp waves of energy, surging toward Jin Xiangwen.
Jin Xiangwen had not anticipated such a fierce onslaught from the start. Startled, he quickly summoned his Pulse Energy, launching counterattacks that erupted like fireworks with each thrust.
Lu Fei Fan's Knife Technique was not extraordinary, but he had drawn a conclusion from Bai Xu Chang's Knife Technique: speed was the key to overcoming any martial skill.
No matter how ordinary a Knife Technique might be, when executed with sufficient speed, it could become remarkably sharp and impressive, rivaling even the most profound martial arts.
Meanwhile, the battle on the other side was nearing its conclusion.
The crowd surrounding Bai Xu Chang had dwindled significantly, leaving only a few stragglers. Yet with every strike Bai Xu Chang made, someone would fall. Each of his blows resonated with the roar of tigers and dragons—a testament to his mastery of Pulse Energy. While he had not reached the pinnacle of this art, he had certainly achieved a commendable level of skill.
Even though those before him were seasoned Mercenaries or costly hired fighters, they were all swiftly incapacitated by Bai Xu Chang's hands and feet. His speed was simply too overwhelming, akin to that of his blade.
Jin Xiangwu attempted to seize opportunities to attack amidst the chaos but found himself missing time and again. His blade had missed its mark for the tenth time now. With each failure, his fear grew. When Bai Xu Chang shot him a glare, it was clear there was no mercy in those eyes—only a cold determination to leave him for last.
As Bai Xu Chang knocked out the final Fellow, only Jin Xiangwu remained on the battlefield. The others lay sprawled around them, while Bai Xu Chang stood composed and elegant in white attire, wielding his Tachi and fixing his gaze on Jin Xiangwu like a lion confidently prowling before its prey, showing no urgency to attack immediately.
Unable to bear the mocking provocation any longer, Jin Xiangwu roared in anger and drew a dagger. With both hands gripping the weapon, he charged at Bai Xu Chang. The clash of dagger against Zhan Dao and Bai Xu Chang's fist erupted in a loud bang as they separated.
Once more, Jin Xiangwu lunged forward in a frenzy. This time, Bai Xu Chang swept the bottom of his sword sheath across Jin Xiangwu’s hand holding the dagger. A sharp pain shot through Jin Xiangwu’s grip, causing him to involuntarily release the weapon as it clattered to the ground.
Before he could launch his long knife attack, Bai Xu Chang's sheath suddenly swept in, striking his face and causing stars to explode in his vision.
He shook his head, trying desperately to see Bai Xu Chang's face. Bai Xu Chang moved a couple of steps and then suddenly lunged forward, pressing down with a palm. Jin Xiangwu raised his Zhan Dao to block, but with a loud bang, the Zhan Dao snapped in half, and he was sent flying backward, crashing to the ground without having time to get up.
Bai Xu Chang, who had ambushed him, stepped on his chest. The sensation was like thunder exploding within him, and Jin Xiangwu spat out a mouthful of blood. Bai Xu Chang quickly lifted his body to evade and then delivered another kick, the back of his foot striking Jin Xiangwu's waist. With a muffled groan, Jin Xiangwu fainted on the spot.
Bai Xu Chang glanced at the fellow lying on the ground before looking toward the area where Chi Electric Thunder Serpent had been. He noticed that only two corpses remained, but he quickly locked onto the bloody scent of Chi Electric Thunder Serpent and raised his head.
In the distance, Lu Fei Fan was engaged in combat with Jin Xiangwen.
Lu Fei Fan's knife technique accelerated continuously, sweeping toward the already struggling Jin Xiangwen.
Jin Xiangwen wildly waved his spikes in defense, retreating with disordered steps as the blade's airwaves relentlessly shredded his clothing.
"How... how has your knife technique become so fast?" Jin Xiangwen suddenly blurted out.
"Oh, I just wanted to see how fast my knife could actually be," Lu Fei Fan replied honestly, while still layering his Fang Tooth Battle Blade in swift motions. The cascading knife shadows made Jin Xiangwen feel an unprecedented urge to turn and flee.
At first, Jin Xiangwen could still fend off Lu Fei Fan's knife techniques, but as Lu Fei Fan's strikes became increasingly rapid, he struggled to adapt. It became nearly impossible for him to discern which strike was targeting his vulnerabilities; he could only continue to retreat aimlessly, thrusting wildly in a desperate attempt to defend himself based on instinct.
However, the painful failures left numerous blood streaks on his hands. Though not deep, the splattering blood still gave Jin Xiangwen a sense of impending collapse.
Lu Fei Fan's knife technique initially doubled in speed without changing its form; it evolved from Military Combat Technique's knife style. Yet even at double speed, Jin Xiangwen managed to cope with it easily.
So Lu Fei Fan increased it to four times the speed. The blade shadows appeared as if four hands were wielding knives simultaneously; just witnessing those shadows was enough to instill a sense of awe. Still, Lu Fei Fan felt this was not his limit and was unsatisfied with such constraints. Compared to Bai Xu Chang's knife technique, it felt like merely scratching the surface.
Unknowingly, his Knife Technique had already doubled again, reaching six times the attack power, causing Jin Xiangwen to continuously scream and retreat. The sharp spikes in his hand were knocked away, and in the end, he was too embarrassed to make another move.
Facing this opponent who couldn't take a hit, Lu Fei Fan sighed. It seemed he needed to go back and practice his Knife Technique with that Fellow. Although that Fellow had a notorious reputation on the virtual internet, the simulation programs available for download were still quite valuable for growth. For instance, downloading a program for the Knife Technique or a swordsmanship master could simulate battles against opponents, which would be immensely beneficial.
Finally, Lu Fei Fan's Zhan Dao sliced through Jin Xiangwen's backpack, sending him flying with a kick. He fell to the ground and suddenly saw Bai Xu Chang walking towards him. Terrified, he fled into the woods in another direction, completely ignoring his fallen companions behind him.
Bai Xu Chang approached Lu Fei Fan, holding his Tachi and glancing at him before extending his hand to indicate he wanted the backpack.
Lu Fei Fan hesitated for a moment but ultimately threw the backpack to him.
Bai Xu Chang's Tachi was incredibly fast; he felt he had no chance of facing him head-on.
In a confrontation where he couldn't gain any advantage and with the disparity in strength, defeat was inevitable. It wasn't a matter of brave warriors meeting on a narrow path; Lu Fei Fan felt they hadn't even reached that point yet.
Bai Xu Chang took the backpack without saying anything and turned to leave, seemingly ignoring Lu Fei Fan's assistance.
Feeling frustrated, Lu Fei Fan called out to Bai Xu Chang's back as he walked away, "Hey, at least say thank you!"
