Lu Fei Fan lay inside the Transport Capsule of the Transport Ship. Unlike a Ferry, this Transport Ship had a cargo hold directly beneath the deck, filling the cabin with a heavy smell of gasoline. It was unclear whether it was the ship's own scent or remnants from machinery it had previously transported. 0

The group, exhausted from their ordeal, quickly shed their gear and sprawled out in the transport ship, falling into a deep sleep. It wasn't until a Veteran on board brought food and drinking water that some of them began to regain their senses. 0

After about two or three hours of rocking and swaying on the sea, the cabin was filled with an announcement just as the group was fully awake. 0

"Attention all trainees, please gather your equipment and belongings. You are about to disembark on the island for your Practical Assessment!" 0

With that, the hatch on the deck creaked open and slowly descended. 0

All the trainees eagerly awaited, some feeling nervous, others excited, and a few fearful. What would this Monster Base truly look like? 0

As the hatch descended further, they caught sight of Monster Island not far ahead. The ecological environment appeared quite pleasant, with rolling mountains covered in lush greenery. Some parts of the island were shrouded in white mist, obscuring their full view and giving it an otherworldly appearance—perhaps a remnant of recent seasonal rains. 0

Once the hatch was fully lowered, they noticed that the port of this Monster Base was bustling with activity. Various Transport Ships continuously approached the shore, while three or four vessels were already docked at Port Dock. As soon as the deck was lowered, a dense crowd began to surge into the base city at the port. 0

Above them, several Fighter Jets zipped by, leaving behind a deafening roar from their engines. 0

Once the Transport Ship steadied at the port, Lu Fei Fan and his companions could hardly contain their excitement as they donned their gear and prepared to disembark. Even Da Li and A Teng felt thrilled to finally set foot on Monster Base Island for the first time. 0

"Wow, there are so many trainees here! There must be at least tens of thousands," Da Li remarked as he surveyed the bustling dock filled with people—almost entirely fellow trainees. 0

"Hehe, I’ve noticed there are a lot of girls here!" A Teng's focus was predictably different; he excitedly dashed toward a beautiful woman. "Hey there! Can I get your contact information?" 0

"Idiot! Go away!" The woman waved him off dismissively, clearly uninterested in A Teng's advances. 0

Lu Fei Fan stood firmly, breathing in the briny sea air, surrounded by soaring seagulls. In the distance, two Phantom Demon Fighters trailed behind, leaving a plume of exhaust in their wake. 0

More transport ships were coming and going on the Sea Surface, with several already docked in the harbor. They dropped off personnel for landing and then turned to leave, while warships patrolled the perimeter. 0

"Those must be the active 'Pompeii' cruisers of the Free Federation!" 0

"Wow, those things are massive." 0

"Of course! The current mainstream Ancient Warships can't be anything less." 0

Lu Fei Fan gazed at the sci-fi-like warships, equipped with enormous cannons and ballistic missile bays, along with several deck guns that he couldn't name. Those vessels could likely take down a Steel Rock Turtle with a single shot, resembling mobile fortresses that could intimidate many monsters just by their appearance. 0

He took a deep breath. 0

This bustling port was just one part of the southern examination area, where all candidates were being transported to this Monster Base. There were likely many more candidates elsewhere. 0

However, this was ultimately the final round. 0

The Practical Assessment was about to begin! 0

"Dad, wait for me. I will make you proud." 0

Lu Fei Fan clenched his fists, silently resolving to obtain the Jinwu Holy Blood Pill at all costs. Even if it came at a high price, securing the title of Fuser would open up opportunities for him. After all, once he passed this hurdle, he could join the Special Operations Team or become a Mercenary to hunt down monsters. 0

“Boss, what are you dawdling for? Let’s go!” A Teng's voice called out from behind. 0

Turning around, Lu Fei Fan saw A Teng and Niu Dali waving at him from a distance of several meters, surrounded by a dense crowd. 0

“I’m coming!” Lu Fei Fan shook his backpack and gear, quickly catching up to them. 0

The throng of people surged into the Monster Base on the island. The perimeter of the base was surrounded by barbed wire, and several towering watchtowers stood at key points, each manned by two soldiers armed with Energy Sniper Rifles, vigilantly observing their surroundings. If anything stirred, they would undoubtedly open fire—this was no joke. 0

Lu Fei Fan also noticed that along the coastline, fortifications had been constructed, housing formidable Heavy Weapons. Whether they were Energy Heavy Cannons or Energy Rockets remained unclear, as armed soldiers patrolled the area, preventing anyone from getting too close. 0

As they entered, Lu Fei Fan saw numerous heavy weapons pointed outward. Many candidates were awestruck by the scale of this military base; it was their first time witnessing such an impressive display. 0

Returning to the topic at hand, this base was comparable in size to a small city, complete with hospitals, supermarkets, weapon shops, and even bars. However, everything required real money to access. From the moment Lu Fei Fan arrived, he noticed that many supermarkets, bars, and weapon shops were already packed with people. 0

At each of the base's numerous entrances stood a massive Virtual Screen broadcasting detailed information about the Monster Base. 0

The screen featured a poised female host dressed in sharp attire. 0

“Welcome to Monster Base 101 in the Southern Military District of the Free Federation. Here we will conduct the Practical Assessment for the Southern Province Sea Area. This is your final practical examination to determine whether you can become a Fuser. I hope everyone strives to pass the Practical Assessment and become a true Empowered Individual. I also wish you all luck in surviving this experience.” 0

After the broadcast ended, they rewound the playback for the candidates arriving one after another. 0

Lu Fei Fan, along with Niu Dali and A Teng, moved forward with the crowd. 0

"My goodness, this place is huge," Dali said, scratching his head like a country bumpkin visiting the city for the first time. 0

"Did you not hear what the host said? She hopes we can survive in real combat? Damn it, it seems like the Fate Association is serious this time... I don’t want to die yet," A Teng was already considering whether he should make a run for it. 0

"What's meant to be will be. You guys are loaded with so many Fellows; you could build a mobile fortress. Who could possibly hurt you? Besides, we’ll have your back. Right, Dali?" Lu Fei Fan patted A Teng on the shoulder in reassurance and shot Dali a look. 0

"Yeah, yeah." Dali scratched his head again and nodded vigorously. Just then, his stomach growled loudly, and he helplessly rubbed his empty belly. "Let’s find something to eat first; I’m starving." 0

"All you think about is food. We're facing death here, and you're still worried about eating," A Teng said disdainfully at the burly Fellow. 0

"Alright, alright. Man is iron, rice is steel. There must be arrangements at this base; let’s go check it out," Lu Fei Fan suggested. 0

The crowd surged forward like waves crashing onto the shore, pushed along by those behind them. They gradually filled the vast Monster Base, which could accommodate over a hundred thousand people. Transport ships continued to bring in more candidates until evening. 0

Lu Fei Fan was just one among the throng; like all the other candidates, he was eventually assigned to a spacious Camp Square. Looking around, he saw tents stretching as far as the eye could see—a truly impressive sight. 0

Each tent could hold about sixteen people and was furnished with bunk beds made of metal frames—standard military setup complete with identical bedding and pillows. 0

Lu Fei Fan, Dali, and A Teng claimed one of the tents along with some familiar faces they had met at Dog Tooth Club Captain. Originally, Chu Wei Lan was supposed to stay in this camp too, but upon seeing Lu Fei Fan with A Teng and Dali, he frowned slightly and disdainfully moved to another camp where some old acquaintances from their earlier training were also gathered. 0

Lu Fei Fan didn't ask much and let it be. 0

In this Camp Square, which housed over a thousand tents, it was divided into several areas, each with a dining zone. The dining area provided food twenty-four hours a day without restrictions, offering an abundance of options—honey-glazed barbecue, various pastries, drinks, and steaming hot dishes in a buffet style. As long as you could eat without wasting food, patrolling soldiers would not question you. 0

Da Li was still battling it out in the dining area. This fellow visited the dining zone almost every two hours, having already made three trips. Each time he returned with a full belly, lying on his bed to digest before getting up with a silly grin on his face to head out for more food. 0

As for A Teng, his whereabouts were unknown. It was uncertain whether he had sneaked into the Female Soldier Camp. Rumor had it that several reckless souls had tried to test their luck there, only to be beaten black and blue by the fierce female candidates known as the Iron Ladies. A Teng was the type who knew he shouldn't tempt fate but did so anyway. 0

Lu Fei Fan shook his head, too lazy to bother with it. He was checking his equipment, just like everyone else in the camp. 0

After returning from the dining area, everyone was organizing their belongings or inspecting their gear. Some were loading bullets while others were polishing their Zhan Dao. Each person was gearing up and eagerly anticipating the upcoming Practical Assessment. 0

At that moment, the loudspeakers in Camp Square crackled to life. 0

“Now broadcasting the camp's Military Regulations: First, no provoking trouble; violators will be immediately expelled from the base and stripped of their examination qualifications. Second, no trespassing into restricted areas outside the camp; violators will also be expelled from the base and stripped of their examination qualifications. Third, supplies for the Practical Assessment will be distributed tomorrow at ten o'clock; those who do not arrive on time will miss out. Fourth, the Practical Assessment will officially begin afterward; no helpers or hired individuals are allowed during the Practical Assessment. If discovered, lifelong assessment qualifications will be revoked. Fifth, no harm to life is permitted during the Practical Assessment; violators will have their cultivation abilities abolished and face severe consequences…” 0

Everyone in Camp Square, whether inside or outside the camp at that moment, could clearly hear these rules. Many began to secretly contemplate what loopholes might exist within these regulations. 0
