The two Second Lieutenants exchanged glances as they stood in front of a row of Veterans, who were fully armed with real weapons, unlike the usual training exercises. 0

"You have ten minutes to return to your dorms and pack your belongings. A truck will take you to the port for your departure," one of the Second Lieutenants announced. 0

As soon as he finished speaking, the row of Veterans stepped forward, their intimidating presence palpable. 0

"What’s going on? Are we being kicked out?" 0

"Sir, does this mean we’ve been eliminated?" 0

The Second Lieutenant sighed and replied, "Yes. You must leave here by Hei Qian, or face Military Law consequences!" 0

As soon as the words left his mouth, some in the group began to wail uncontrollably, while others crouched down with their heads in their hands, unable to accept this harsh reality. They had hoped that those called by name would remain for the next round of assessments. 0

Meanwhile, Lu Fei Fan and the others were led by a Lieutenant to a warehouse behind the Training Base. The Dog Tooth Club Captain was already waiting there, flanked by armed guards on either side of the warehouse. Lu Fei Fan recognized several signs indicating strict no-fire policies. 0

This appeared to be a Military Warehouse, Lu Fei Fan deduced. But why had the Dog Tooth Club Captain brought them here? Was it for live-fire training? After witnessing the confiscation of various weapons during his spar with Chu Wei Lan, including even nail clippers, he couldn't imagine what would happen to Chu Wei Lan's two exquisite pistols. 0

The concern was that if any of them had a disagreement and drew a weapon, it could lead to a fatal incident. The Dog Tooth Club Captain would bear responsibility for any casualties; it was better to nip such situations in the bud by confiscating all sharp weapons. 0

Lu Fei Fan found this amusing; after all, in street fights, any weapon could be used indiscriminately. Did they really need those dangerous items? However, firearms and knives were indeed much more efficient for killing, so it made sense that they were being regulated at the base. 0

As Lu Fei Fan and the others arrived at the front of the warehouse, confusion was evident on their faces. 0

"Congratulations! You have all qualified for the Unified Awakeners Examination's Practical Assessment. You are allowed to enter the warehouse and select three weapons for your Practical Assessment," announced the Dog Tooth Club Captain. 0

The group was momentarily stunned before erupting into cheers as they rushed toward the warehouse doors. With a loud clang, the gate of the Military Warehouse slowly began to rise. Before it even reached waist height, someone eagerly bent down and slipped inside. 0

They knew that if there were any special weapons inside, it would be first come, first served; those who arrived later would have fewer options. With powerful weapons in hand, wouldn’t any Practical Assessment become a piece of cake? 0

Lu Fei Fan wasn’t in a hurry; instead, he lingered at the back while A Teng and Niu Dali rushed into the crowd. As Lu Fei Fan entered the warehouse, he noticed that Chu Wei Lan hadn’t moved. The Dog Tooth Club Captain understood what he was waiting for and signaled to a guard. The guard brought over a sealed box and handed it to him. 0

Chu Wei Lan opened the box and found that it contained his two guns. 0

"They're good guns, but it's better to return this hot item to you," said the Dog Tooth Club Captain with a smile. 0

Chu Wei Lan seemed not to hear him and took the guns out, inspecting them several times. It appeared that he didn't need to choose weapons anymore. Lu Fei Fan sighed; if only he could find a suitable weapon for himself, he wouldn't have to worry. He decided to head into the warehouse to see if he could find something good. 0

Thus, Lu Fei Fan entered the Military Warehouse. The warehouse was quite large, filled with all sorts of weapons—varied and numerous. It wasn't just light weapons; there were Heavy Weapons as well, such as the Heavy Energy Gatling Gun, various simple Artillery pieces, and even Ballistic Missiles. As long as you could carry them, the Dog Tooth Club Captain likely wouldn't object. 0

However, Lu Fei Fan shook his head and gave up. Heavy weapons might be effective for defensive battles, but taking them to the Practical Assessment would be tantamount to courting death. He walked straight through the heavy weapon area and arrived at the light weapon section, which was where he intended to make his selections. 0

The light weapon area had rows of shelves neatly stacked with Energy Rifles, Energy Submachine Guns, Heavy Energy Machine Guns, and even Energy Sniper Rifles within Lu Fei Fan's consideration range. 0

Lu Fei Fan browsed through the Energy Sniper Rifle section but ultimately decided against it because he had his own plans. 0

He first approached the handgun section, where others were also selecting their weapons. The rule of only being able to choose three items was proving difficult for many; quite a few people seemed eager to arm themselves to the teeth before heading out for the Practical Assessment. 0

The handguns were dazzling in variety, with numerous models of Energy Pistols making it hard for Lu Fei Fan to decide. Just as he was scanning several rows of handguns without finding anything that caught his eye, he noticed two people fighting over a box across from him. 0

"I saw it first; this is mine," said a tall guy as he tugged at a rather attractive Metal Box. 0

"What do you mean yours? This place is for selection; anyone who spots something can take it! Be smart and let go, or I’ll have to teach you a lesson," retorted a shorter man, equally unwilling to back down as he clutched the Metal Box. 0

At that moment, someone nearby couldn't stand it any longer. "Hey, why don't you two stop arguing? Just open the box and see what's inside, then you can decide with rock-paper-scissors. There are plenty of weapons in this big warehouse." 0

The two men looked at each other and seemed to find this suggestion reasonable. They agreed and together opened the Metal Box while Lu Fei Fan curiously leaned in closer. 0

When the box opened, everyone saw that inside lay a rugged-looking Revolver. The oil-brown barrel was exceptionally coarse and thickly polished, with sights much larger than those on other handguns—not to mention its hefty cylinder and stock. 0

"I'll give it a try," said the shorter man as he reached for it. However, he nearly fell over because the weight of the gun exceeded his expectations. 0

"This thing is way too heavy!" The short man struggled to lift it with both hands, but ultimately gave up and waved his hand dismissively. "Forget it, if you want it, you can have it." 0

With the competition out of the way, the tall man was naturally pleased. He picked up the gun and aimed it, testing its weight. It felt a bit heavy; what kind of metal was this gun made of that it was so dense? 0

"Let me take a look," Lu Fei Fan said as he reached for the gun, indicating his curiosity. 0

The tall man handed it over. Lu Fei Fan examined it closely, flipping the cylinder open to check the number of chambers, which seemed to match his expectations. 0

"Yeah, this gun is heavy," Lu Fei Fan remarked as he held it. In fact, he liked the solid feel of it, but he didn't show it. Instead, he feigned indifference while inspecting the weapon. "It only has five chambers." 0

"What? Just five shots?" The man scratched his head, looking a bit conflicted. 0

"Yes, just five. In a real combat situation, that could be a problem unless you can reload faster than others. Look at them; they've chosen more convenient models with larger capacities—some can hold twelve rounds, which is double what this one can hold. You'd be at a disadvantage in terms of ammo capacity," Lu Fei Fan added casually while continuing to inspect the gun. 0

"Damn it, what do we do now? Forget it, brother, this gun is yours. Ugh, what a waste of time." With that, the tall man turned and walked away. 0

Lu Fei Fan examined the gun further. Although its magazine could only hold five rounds, the energy bullets it fired were definitely large caliber, meaning its destructive power was impressive. Additionally, there were subtle energy patterns between the stock and the body of the gun that indicated several key components for energy charging—this weapon could indeed be recharged! 0

Once the standard ammunition was exhausted, it could still utilize its own pulse energy for reloading. That wasn't bad; he just didn't know how many shots his pulse energy could provide. The weight felt just right—yes, he would choose this one. 0

Lu Fei Fan glanced at the metal box nearby; on the back of its lid were two words: "Lie Hound." 0

"Oh? A revolver? That's somewhat interesting," came a voice from behind him—Chu Wei Lan. 0

"It's not as good as yours," Lu Fei Fan replied as he closed the box and found a holster to attach his new handgun to his waist. 0

"Hmph! How can this ordinary handgun compare to my 'Twin Lotus'? It's a masterpiece crafted by the renowned gunsmith Aro Ao!" Chu Wei Lan boasted proudly about the twin pistols hanging at her side. 0

Lu Fei Fan couldn't be bothered to argue with this Fellow. He arrived at the Defense Zone and tried out a shield, but ultimately abandoned the idea of equipping it; it was just too inconvenient. Instead, he chose a Military Type III Tactical Vest as his armor. This was the highest grade Tactical Vest in the warehouse, weighing around fifteen kilograms. While it might not stop long-range gunfire, at least it could reduce damage in close combat and protect vital areas. Compared to the Type I vest he had worn on the Ferry, this one was definitely a step up. 0

As for melee weapons, Lu Fei Fan did not select any. The warehouse only had two types of Zhan Dao, both standard issue. One was the 'Zhan Bing' Zhan Dao that Lu Fei Fan had used against the Octopus on the Ferry; it was the most common type. The other was a heavier version known as 'Fang Ya,' made from a different forged metal, making it considerably weightier and less appealing compared to the lightweight and convenient 'Zhan Bing.' 0

Lu Fei Fan chose the 'Fang Ya.' Ironically, its heavier feel, which others disliked, was exactly what attracted him. With that, his three-piece gear set was settled. He pondered whether to take some Hand Grenades and ammunition; those didn’t seem to count as part of his main gear. 0

Just as he hesitated, Chu Wei Lan appeared before him again, spinning some kind of weapon in her hands that whistled through the air with a glint of cold light. Finally, she stopped and struck a pose, allowing Lu Fei Fan to see what melee weapon she had chosen. 0

The weapon was about a foot long, tapering to sharp points at both ends and resembling a spearhead. 0

It was a hand-held spike! Lu Fei Fan recalled that this type of weapon was also known as an Emei spike in his previous life. 0

To his surprise, this Fellow had chosen two hand-held spikes. It struck Lu Fei Fan as quite unusual; after all, these were typically associated with women. 0

Nevertheless, he smiled at Chu Wei Lan as she looked herself over, seemingly finding nothing wrong with her choice. 0

Additionally, Lu Fei Fan noticed that Chu Wei Lan hadn’t selected any armor, which suggested she had confidence in her defense. 0

Whatever. Lu Fei Fan decided not to bother with this overly self-satisfied Fellow. He moved over to the ammunition area to replenish his 'Demon Hound' model ammunition. Sure enough, they had the largest caliber Energy Bullets available. He casually grabbed four or five plasma Hand Grenades and stuffed them into his Military Backpack before walking out of the warehouse. At last, he had finished selecting his weapons and gear. 0
