It all started when his father fell ill. Under the immense pressure of medical expenses, his mother, unable to bear it any longer, even took out the savings she had set aside for Lu Fei Fan and himself to pay for his father's treatment. However, this was merely a drop in the bucket; he understood that such a small amount of money was utterly insufficient in the face of a serious illness. 0

Seeing his brother Lu Fei Fan running around aimlessly every time he went out, he couldn't help but feel frustrated. Their mother was worn out from taking care of their father day and night, often secretly wiping away tears. Encouraged by a few friends, he borrowed ten thousand yuan from a loan shark and, along with two friends, went to an underground casino, hoping to strike it lucky. Unfortunately, they fell into a trap set by the loan sharks and the casino, losing everything and accumulating a significant debt. 0

Now, the loan sharks had sent someone to their home with a message: Lu Fei Fan needed to bring two hundred thousand yuan to the casino to redeem himself; otherwise, they would cut off one of his hands and one of his feet. Aunt Wang happened to encounter the messenger and hurried to the hospital to relay the message to Lu Fei Fan. 0

When Hua Feifan's mother heard this news, she nearly fainted. Fortunately, Lu Fei Fan and Aunt Wang quickly helped her sit down and pinched her to bring her back to her senses. As soon as she regained consciousness, she began crying out in despair about what they should do. Aunt Wang hurriedly suggested that they report it to the police. 0

"Mom, don't panic; I'll handle this," Lu Fei Fan said, feeling a heavy weight in his heart. It was clear that his brother had been deliberately set up. 0

"Handle what? We need to call the police right away!" Aunt Wang urged, shaking her head with a sigh. "Oh dear, it's such a misfortune. The head of the family has only been in the hospital for a short time, and now the son is in trouble. What are we going to do?" 0

"Mom, I have a classmate whose father is the police chief; he should be able to help. I'll go find someone to deal with this while you take care of Dad," Lu Fei Fan was actually making up an excuse just to calm his mother down and prevent her from becoming too distressed. 0

After patting his distraught mother on the back, he stood up and said to Aunt Wang, "Aunt Wang, please help me take care of my mom and dad; I'll be back soon. Thank you." 0

Aunt Wang sighed but didn't object; it was as if she silently agreed. 0

Lu Fei Fan glanced at his father lying on the hospital bed before heading out. With his experience as a former Special Forces soldier, he was never afraid of anyone when it came to fighting. He called A Teng and Niu Dali along the way but realized he couldn't wait for them to arrive; he feared something might happen to his brother. After all, those loan sharks were not people who kept their promises—they were nothing but scum. So he set off alone toward the casino where Aunt Wang had mentioned. 0

The underground casino was located in a working-class neighborhood where those running it had significant influence over the area. He had only heard about it from his brother but had never dealt with them directly. 0

When Lu Fei Fan arrived at the casino, he found it housed in a well-decorated building that looked quite old but spacious—over a thousand square meters. Outside stood seven or eight thugs who immediately became alert when they saw Lu Fei Fan approaching with determination. 0

"I want to see your boss," Lu Fei Fan demanded without showing any fear. 0

The thugs acted as if they hadn't heard him and continued blocking his path. 0

"I said I want to see your boss!" Lu Fei Fan raised his voice slightly. 0

"Who do you think you are? Get lost before we decide to teach you a lesson!" One burly man in a black shirt poked Lu Fei Fan's chest menacingly. 0

Lu Fei Fan swiftly grabbed the man's finger and with a sharp crack, broke it! 0

The man immediately screamed in pain as Lu Fei Fan kicked him away. With both elbows, he struck two thugs in the face, then quickly dealt with the others who had come too close. In just a few swift moves, four or five thugs fell to the ground, writhing in agony. 0

Suddenly, seven or eight more thugs armed with clubs rushed out to block the entrance. 0

Among them, a bald man with a thick gold necklace stepped forward, his face exuding an air of menace. He glanced at the fallen thugs on the ground, kicked one of them, and cursed, "Useless trash," before turning his gaze to Lu Fei Fan. 0

"Are you the brother of Hua Jun Tang?" he asked. 0

"Yes," Lu Fei Fan replied. 0

"Did you bring the money?" he inquired again. 0

"I didn't bring any," Lu Fei Fan said, locking eyes with him, his expression cold and clearly harboring murderous intent. 0

The bald man studied Lu Fei Fan for a moment, nodding in appreciation. "You've got some guts. Come on, follow me inside." 0

He waved his hand, signaling Lu Fei Fan to enter. 0

Surrounded by a large group of thugs wielding clubs, Lu Fei Fan walked calmly into the casino. Inside, the gambling area was empty; the tables were neatly arranged with betting tools and chairs but devoid of people. Could it be... they cleared the place out on purpose for him? If so, there must be someone pulling strings behind the scenes. 0

Lu Fei Fan's expression darkened; this trouble was clearly aimed at him. 0

However, these were merely his speculations for now. He maintained a composed demeanor as he entered the main hall. On either side stood numerous people armed with clubs and knives. Among them were two long-haired thugs wielding machetes who had pinned his younger brother to the ground. His brother's face was bruised and bloodied, even one of his eyebrows had been burned off. Seeing that he was not in immediate danger eased Lu Fei Fan's mind somewhat. 0

"I thought you weren't coming back. But Dao Ge didn't lie to me after all," said a fat man lounging in a recliner, his body overflowing with soft flesh like a mound of fat. He was smoking a cigar. 0

Behind Lu Fei Fan, three or four more thugs emerged to block his escape route, clearly intent on preventing him from fleeing. 0

"There are seventeen of them, plus that fat guy makes eighteen," Lu Fei Fan calculated silently in his mind. However, he felt confident he had an eighty percent chance of capturing this fat man. 0

Lu Fei Fan had yet to speak when the fat man sitting across from him provocatively pressed the half-burned cigar butt directly onto his brother's head. 0

Sizzle! 0

Smoke immediately rose from the hair on his brother's scalp. Despite the pain, he stubbornly refused to utter a word, his face trembling and turning red from the agony. 0

Finally unable to hold back, he shouted, "Damn you! Damn your ancestors for eighteen generations! May your whole family meet a bad end! I curse you all to—" 0

"It seems you haven't learned your lesson yet. Beat him," the fat man said casually as he picked up the extinguished cigar and lit it again. 0

A few thugs nearby grabbed their clubs and began to rain down blows on Lu Fei Fan's brother, who groaned in pain, spitting blood before they finally stopped. 0

Crack! 0

Lu Fei Fan clenched his fists, watching with gritted teeth. The tension in his jaw made the contours of his face more pronounced, clearly showing that the anger within him was burning away what little rationality he had left. 0

"Thinking of fighting back?" The fat man appeared unafraid. "Do you even know who you've offended? Dao Ge's friend, Tao Shao—the second son of Xiang Fu Group. You dare to covet his girl? Are you tired of living? With your kind of poor, commoner status, how dare you cross him? You really don't know when to quit." 0
