After thinking about this, Xu Shen shook his head helplessly.
Then, the voice of the spirit echoed again from midair. At some point, this guy had reappeared on the ceiling of the bathroom.
"Could you stop being so self-indulgent? What part of you is worth someone stealing a glance at? I really can’t understand!" Xu Shen felt utterly disgusted. He never expected that even while he was using the restroom, this guy would be right beside him, more troublesome than a stubborn adhesive plaster.
He couldn’t fathom what he had done previously to warrant this spirit following him around.
It seemed that someone had arrived at that moment. He could hear the alarm clock he had set earlier in the living room ringing frantically.
"It's time for me to go to work now; can you please stop bothering me? If I’m late again, Manager Li will definitely fire me if he finds out! How am I supposed to help Li Yingxue pursue her then?"
Seeing that this excuse was indeed perfect, Xu Shen blurted out, hoping to get this spirit to leave quickly.
The spirit floated out again, speaking in a dismissive tone. "Hurry up and get ready for work. Lin Xue was really scared yesterday; your most important task today isn’t chasing after Manager Li but comforting his wounded heart at the office!"
Honestly, it felt like he had become the spirit's babysitter. Listening to these bizarre demands, Xu Shen felt nothing but irritation and didn’t bother to say anything further; after all, his own life was at stake.
"Fine, I get it. I’ll do whatever you want, but I hope you can cooperate with me a little, okay? I need to wash up quickly and get to work; otherwise, if I miss my chance to do what you mentioned, you know how our manager's temper is!"
Xu Shen complained repeatedly, wanting the spirit to vanish from his sight because its presence only made him feel colder.
"One more thing!" Just as Xu Shen’s master was about to say something else, the spirit turned back around as if it had just remembered something important.
"Are you going to add another condition?"
The spirit coldly scrutinized Xu Shen from head to toe, as if any wrong word could lead to dire consequences for him.
In truth, Xu Shen was being intentional; he didn’t plan on bringing up any additional requests. Instead, as the spirit turned away, Xu Shen looked at it and slowly said, "Speaking of which, judging by your appearance, your figure in your past life probably wasn’t much better..."
Upon hearing this, the spirit merely scoffed and didn’t respond. As it continued floating toward the living room, it coldly remarked, "If you keep dawdling like this, you're really going to be late."
