Jon Delson had spent many years searching in Huaxia according to the methods of the Immortal Dragon Seal, and he had finally gathered nearly all the necessary individuals. However, there were too many who met the criteria, and only one person was needed for the sacrifice. The opportunity to break the seal was a one-time chance, so the requirements for this sacrificial individual were extremely high.
The Undying Dragon Clan had been suppressed for thousands of years, and they had become violent and filled with resentment, thoroughly corrupted. Therefore, the person chosen for the sacrifice also needed to possess a dark heart. To transform these ordinary people into something more sinister, Delson had devised this game, allowing them to become cruel, violent, and filled with hatred through play.
Just moments ago, they had only reached the second level of the game. If they continued playing, it would completely corrupt the Huaxia people who were teaming up. The later stages of the game were even more unbearable; it encouraged this group of Huaxia people to build trust and friendships in the early levels, only to force them to betray their teammates for survival and even kill them later on.
Those who managed to survive the game would find their once pure hearts turned into cold, dark ones.
At this point, Jon Delson looked at Jiang Chen; it seemed he had said all he needed to say.
“Do you find such a game interesting?” Jiang Chen asked with a cold smile.
“I have no choice in the matter. I am not in control of my own fate; my life is worthless. But if I don’t act according to the wishes of the Undying Dragon Clan, the dark energy within me will surely kill me and seek out a new host,” the old man replied helplessly.
“I refuse to believe that the Undying Dragon Clan hasn’t promised you some benefits,” Jiang Chen said, his gaze steady. The old man’s heart involuntarily tightened as if Jiang Chen could see right through him.
“It seems I can hide nothing from you. The Undying Dragon Clan did indeed say that once the seal is broken and they see daylight again, I will be their servant and can attain immortality like them,” Jon Delson admitted, his tone tinged with excitement. At his age, he lacked money but craved longevity above all else.
“Ha! Do you really think that’s possible?” Jiang Chen countered.
“It should be possible; the Undying Dragon Clan possesses secrets of immortality—surely you’ve heard of this,” Jon Delson said, his confidence wavering under Jiang Chen's scrutinizing gaze.
“Have you ever heard of Qin Shi Huang?” Jiang Chen asked.
“I have heard of him; he was an emperor of your Huaxia,” Jon Delson replied.
“If he couldn’t achieve it, what makes you think you can?” Jiang Chen laughed. The pursuit of longevity had no shortcuts; even attaining immortality as an immortal being still came with a lifespan—albeit significantly longer than that of ordinary cultivators in the Xiu Xian World. People mistakenly believed that immortals lived forever.
Breaking through that barrier of longevity was something Jiang Chen had never achieved in his past life; how could an Earthling hope to do so? It was merely a fanciful thought from this old man.
“Perhaps Qin Shi Huang is still alive?” Delson suggested.
Jiang Chen was left speechless.
“If he were alive, you’d be one of the Huaxia people now,” Jiang Chen pointed out.
Jon Delson initially didn’t grasp what Jiang Chen meant but realized after a few seconds that he was indeed somewhat deluded. If Qin Shi Huang were alive, it could change the world’s landscape entirely; a thousand years ago, ancient Huaxia could be considered a global superpower.
“Alright then, didn’t you say you have a submarine that can dive into deep waters? Accompany me down to see this Undying Dragon Clan,” Jiang Chen proposed.
“No, that won’t do! I went down last time and it already made them unhappy,” the old man quickly refused, clearly terrified of the Undying Dragon Clan.
"They can be dissatisfied all they want; what can they do about it?" Jiang Chen said with a cold laugh.
"They will soon break through the seal and come out," the old man replied.
