With a loud crash, a group of people burst through the door. At the forefront was Mo Wan, his eyes wide with rage as he took in the scene before him. He stumbled slightly as he approached the two individuals lying on the ground. Liu Yuchuan followed closely behind, and Tang Mu Xuan hurried in right after him.
Upon seeing the shocking sight, their mouths fell open in disbelief. Liu Yuchuan forced himself to appear calm as he turned to Mo Wan and said, "Get them to the hospital immediately! We need to find out what happened!"
Tang Mu Xuan nodded vigorously, rallying everyone to help carry the two to the hospital. They had to uncover the truth; this time, they needed solid evidence against Wang Yang.
By now, Mo Wan had managed to steady himself. He noticed that both individuals were still breathing, albeit shallowly. It was clear they had only sustained superficial injuries, but he still wore a grim expression as he looked at Tang Mu Xuan and the others.
Liu Ru Yan struggled to articulate her feelings in that moment. She felt dazed, as if she were watching her own life unfold before her eyes. She vividly recalled how she had joined Mo Wan after making a decision for their organization alongside Lan Ruo Yi to participate in Yan Yi. The two had clashed with the organization, unwilling to let their children be harmed, and had been thrown into the sea.
They were rescued just as their families had found them. During their time of unconsciousness, they somehow traversed into ancient times and assumed new identities, believing themselves to be people from that era due to their amnesia. She understood now why she could communicate with Lan Ruo Yi telepathically; it was a natural ability they both possessed.
They were recruited into an organization where they dealt with matters beyond the comprehension of ordinary people. However, their compassion for children led them to be targeted by others, much like Zhang Na had been—though their situations were not entirely the same. Zhang Na was confirmed dead, while they had merely lost a portion of their abilities.
Even this ambush was aimed at completely eliminating them; the bullets used were not ordinary ones but specifically designed to nullify their powers. Jiang Nan was the head of that organization back then—a selfish businessman driven by his own interests.
Super Sister seemed unaware of everything, yet the emotions involved were indescribable.
"Yi Yi, do you remember now?" Liu Ru Yan called out to Lan Ruo Yi in her mind. In the past, there had always been a response, but at this moment, silence enveloped her.
Lan Ruo Yi was the first to awaken, gazing at Liu Ru Yan, who lay pale on the adjacent hospital bed. As she quietly observed, memories flooded back to her, including those of her family.
A figure entered from outside the door—it was Bu Qing! Dressed in a white coat, he looked at the already awakened Lan Ruo Yi with a hint of disbelief. He quickly approached to conduct an examination and found that aside from some weakness, she had completely recovered.
"You've healed quite quickly," Bu Qing remarked.
"A Yan, how is she?" Lan Ruo Yi asked with a hoarse voice, eager to know Liu Ru Yan's condition.
Bu Qing looked at the person who had awakened and seemed to have completely changed in demeanor with some confusion. He stepped toward Liu Ru Yan's side and was just about to take her hand when she opened her eyes.
The cold light emanating from her gaze felt somewhat dangerous—that was Bu Qing's first impression. Liu Ru Yan scanned the room and upon seeing Lan Ruo Yi, her expression softened as relief washed over her.
"A Yan, how are you?" Liu Ru Yan asked as she struggled to sit up.
However, Bu Qing frowned and pressed her back down. "You’re the patient; how can you get up?"
"Let her go!" Liu Ru Yan's mind was still foggy, and seeing Bu Qing restraining Lan Ruo Yi made her think he was threatening her. Her eyes no longer held warmth but instead conveyed a hint of menace.
"Xiao Yan! Why are you treating her like this?" Bu Qing exclaimed in disbelief; after all, he and Liu Ru Yan were classmates! It was bewildering for him that she would look at him this way for Lan Ruo Yi's sake.
Liu Ru Yan cast a quick glance at him, as if she had already seen through him.
Bu Qing emerged from the hospital room drenched in cold sweat. It wasn't until he stepped out of the corridor and into the stairwell that he leaned against the wall and slowly crouched down.
"You really are useless," a mocking voice whispered in Bu Qing's ear.
Without lifting his head, Bu Qing replied, "Why didn't you come?"
The voice surrounded him, half real and half illusionary, filtering into his ears.
"Have they remembered?" the voice continued to inquire.
"Yeah, my abilities have completely vanished. I'm just an ordinary person now."
After catching his breath, Bu Qing looked up at the person standing before him. The figure wasn't particularly large but exuded a sense of safety.
With the light behind him, it was hard to make out his expression.
"That shouldn't be underestimated," Liu Ru Yan's abilities were anything but ordinary.
"And don't overlook Lan Ruo Yi; her perceptive skills are quite strong."
Tian Luo spoke of their exceptional qualities, and Bu Qing could see it reflected in their earlier glances, so he remained on guard.
"What brings you here? Just to check on those two?"
Bu Qing snapped back to reality, realizing how this person had appeared at such a moment; it couldn't just be to observe them.
"Kong Meng is here too."
"How did she end up here?"
Bu Qing hadn't expected her presence; it felt like an invitation for trouble.
"I don't see how she poses any danger," Tian Luo said with a hint of arrogance, but there was truth in his words—he had that capability.
