Li Meng took her time with the meal, as if savoring a last supper. There was no hint of despair in her eyes, only challenge and determination. She leisurely pulled a napkin from the paper box and calmly wiped her mouth. From her handbag, she retrieved a lipstick and a mirror, meticulously touching up her makeup until it was perfect before standing up to leave. Unbeknownst to her, someone in a car outside was watching her every move, only averting their gaze when she finally stood to depart.
"A Yan, you’re finally awake! You scared me to death! Is there anywhere in your body that still feels uncomfortable?" Lan Ruo Yi's voice drew the attention of two spirited men, who quickly turned their gazes to the lovely figure on the bed. Liu Ru Yan had just opened her eyes when she heard Lan Ruo Yi's exaggerated tone, nearly choking on her own saliva.
Cough, cough, cough.

Mo Wan heard this and went to the living room to thoughtfully pour a glass of warm water for her, ensuring it wasn't too hot or too cold. Lan Ruo Yi naturally took the water from Mo Wan and pushed her aside to feed Liu Ru Yan instead.
Mo Wan thought to herself: Is this my sister? Just throw it away; it’s quite ridiculous.
Meanwhile, Liu Yuchuan watched Lan Ruo Yi's actions with great delight. He didn’t want Mo Wan getting too close to his niece; he hadn’t noticed this before. This man had such thoughts about his own niece.
Mo Wan raised an eyebrow: "You dare say that? Although I do have my suspicions."
No, it’s possible his niece might have feelings for him! But that won’t do; he’s too old and doesn’t deserve Xiao Yan.
As Liu Ru Yan sipped water, she exchanged playful glances with Lan Ruo Yi. However, Lan Ruo Yi focused intently on Liu Ru Yan as she finished drinking, ignoring any expression directed at her.
Liu Yuchuan noticed her movements and thought about following his niece's lead. He not only thought it but also acted on it.
"Xiao Yan, what are you doing? What’s with that?" Liu Yuchuan asked, mimicking Liu Ru Yan's actions. To everyone watching, it seemed as if Liu Yuchuan had been struck by lightning, giving off a bizarre and sinister vibe.
"You look kind of creepy," Liu Ru Yan remarked, though she didn't want to say it. It was true that he was acting a bit strange; after all, they said a man is like a flower. But did he really need to behave like this? And he was getting on in years.
"Hey, why are you such a poor communicator, little girl? I’m just imitating you!" Liu Yuchuan retorted, his temper flaring. He had merely copied her movements and now faced ridicule.
"Uncle, if it weren't for your face, I might have called the police," Mo Wan teased as she looked at Liu Yuchuan, deliberately provoking him.
"Who’s your uncle? Don’t call me that; you’re not much younger than I am." Hearing the girl call him "uncle" made him uncomfortable; it felt like a toad was perched on his foot—annoying but harmless.
"Haha, this is like an old lady getting into bed—what a laugh! How dare you call me uncle?" Liu Yuchuan laughed heartily before turning his sarcasm on Mo Wan.
"Using gauze to wipe your backside—what a show you put on!" he continued. "What else can you do besides spit at me?" Mo Wan’s simple remark struck a nerve with Liu Yuchuan.
Next, they heard Liu Yuchuan's face turn red with anger as he fumed.
Liu Ru Yan and Lan Ruo Yi watched the two exchange barbs in astonishment.
"What do those two have against each other?" Liu Ru Yan wondered in amazement, surprised that her uncle still had some restraint.
Lan Ruo Yi looked on with frustration; she hadn’t expected Mo Wan to be so ineffective and wished she could step in to defend her friend.
Then they saw Mo Wan open her mouth and close it again before finally saying something that silenced the room.
"I won’t stoop to your level." Unlike Liu Yuchuan, who was quick-witted, Mo Wan struggled to respond to the mockery directed at her. No one had ever dared speak to her like this before, leaving her at a loss for words.
Liu Yuchuan grinned triumphantly. "You think you can compete with me? You’ve got a long way to go! Just because I’m a few years older doesn’t mean you can’t learn from me."
Lan Ruo Yi nearly spat out blood, exclaiming, "What the heck!"
Liu Ru Yan also smacked her lips in disbelief, "Tsk, this is really disappointing."
Lan Ruo Yi nodded in agreement. Even Liu Yuchuan felt a mix of frustration and pity; he had never seen someone so inept at conversation. If this continued, they would surely face difficulties in the future.
With that thought, Liu Yuchuan set aside his earlier irritation from being mocked and pulled Mo Wan aside to begin his teaching.
"A Yan, no wonder you are like this; your uncle is the same," Lan Ruo Yi said, staring in astonishment.
"Are you insulting me?" Liu Ru Yan felt that Lan Ruo Yi was indeed criticizing her, but as a patient, what was the point of that?
"Have you forgotten? I'm still the patient here," Liu Ru Yan quickly reminded Lan Ruo Yi, hoping she would reconsider her choice of words.
To her surprise, Lan Ruo Yi didn’t grasp Liu Ru Yan's meaning. "Hmm? Are you feeling unwell?"
"Just let it all end," Liu Ru Yan replied with a sigh. "Anyway, forget about them for now. You still haven't told me what happened."
