Xu Yi and Bai Jinxi walked side by side on the way back to the dormitory, with a gentle breeze carrying a hint of spring warmth.
The two of them chatted from time to time, and their laughter echoed in the air, creating a particularly warm atmosphere.
"How's your recent studying going? Have you encountered any difficulties?" Xu Yi asked with concern.

Xu Yi asked about Bai Jinxi's recent situation, and Bai Jinxi shared some recent events. The two of them chatted happily, as if they had endless things to talk about. Time passed unnoticed, and soon it was evening. Xu Yi and Bai Jinxi went to the cafeteria together. After dinner, they returned to the dormitory together. When Xing Hao entered the room, Jian Chen was sitting quietly in a chair by the window, staring blankly outside.
He heard footsteps, turned his head slightly, and saw Xing Hao. He forced a smile on his face. "What's wrong, Jian Chen? You seem to have something on your mind," Xing Hao asked with concern as he walked to Jian Chen's side. Jian Chen sighed and slowly told Xing Hao about his conversation with Xu Yi. Xing Hao listened in silence for a moment, then patted Jian Chen on the shoulder.
"Since Xu Yi needs time to sort out her thoughts, you should give her some time," Xing Hao comforted.
Jian Chen nodded, but his hidden disappointment was hard to conceal. He recalled the sweet memories with Xu Yi, which pricked his heart like needles.
"Do you think I'm a scumbag?" Jian Chen muttered to himself.
Xing Hao looked at Jian Chen's despondent expression and felt a twinge of pity. He knew that Jian Chen was a person who took relationships seriously and had invested a lot in this one. But now, all he could do was silently wait for Xu Yi's decision. " Jian Chen, you can't force matters of the heart. Since Xu Yi needs time to consider, you should also give yourself some time to adjust your mindset," Xing Hao advised.
Jian Chen nodded, understanding Xing Hao's meaning. He knew that what he needed to do now was to calm himself down, give Xu Yi some space, and give himself some time to adjust his mindset.

Xing Hao smiled slightly, patted Jian Chen's shoulder, and then left the room.
Jian Chen sat quietly by the window, staring blankly at the sky outside.
The next day, Xu Yi encountered a tricky financial problem. She went through all the materials but still couldn't find a suitable solution.
On the third day, after much hesitation, she decided to seek help from Jian Chen. Although she had suggested keeping a distance yesterday, she knew that Jian Chen's abilities and experience were what she lacked in professional matters.
Xu Yi took a deep breath and mustered up the courage to dial Jian Chen's dormitory phone. On the other end, Jian Chen's voice was still clear and gentle: "Hello, how are you?"
Xu Yi paused for a moment, trying to make his voice sound professional and calm: "It's me, Xu Yi. I've encountered a financial problem and would like to ask for your advice."
Jian Chen did not hold any grudges from yesterday's incident, and immediately responded, "Of course, go ahead and tell me."
Xu Yi detailed the problem, and Jian Chen patiently listened on the phone, occasionally asking questions to confirm the difficulties she was facing. After listening to Xu Yi's description, Jian Chen pondered for a moment and then offered several possible solutions.
