After Wu Yinuo's body was taken over by the Rules Spirit, all her emotions vanished completely. She became impervious to any external influences, exhibiting an extraordinary level of rationality. Each of her attacks and evasions seemed to be the result of meticulous calculations. She truly resembled a machine.
In the Blood Moon Reading World, Chen Moxuan unleashed his mental skill, attempting to influence Wu Yinuo's psyche. However, he quickly realized that it had no effect whatsoever. His mental attack could not shake Wu Yinuo's spirit in the slightest. From this, he also recognized that there was still a gap between himself and the Rules Spirit.
The Rules Spirit that had descended upon Wu Yinuo was certainly not complete, yet its displayed power was already on par with his own. They were now two forces: one powerful enough to influence the mind, and the other with a mental strength capable of affecting the physical body. For a moment, they were evenly matched in battle.
Chen Moxuan was uncertain how long Wu Yinuo could withstand the presence of the Rules Spirit. However, he knew that his Demon Battle Golden Body could only last for three minutes. He needed to end the fight quickly; once those three minutes were up, he would undoubtedly be no match for Wu Yinuo in her current state.
Invincible with the Golden Body! He activated the invincible defense mode of his Demon Battle Golden Body. As Wu Yinuo launched an attack with her palm, he did not evade or block; instead, he allowed her strike to hit him directly.
Then, he wrapped his arms around Wu Yinuo, channeling all his strength into one powerful embrace. He was preparing to execute a crushing move! Wu Yinuo's palm struck him first, but it was absorbed by his golden body. Following that, he exerted all his might to hold onto her.
Suddenly, a wave of intense cold emanated from Wu Yinuo's body. Even though his physical form was incredibly strong, he couldn't help but shiver involuntarily. Yet he persisted in applying pressure. His intention was not to kill Wu Yinuo but to overwhelm her entirely and force her out of the Rules Spirit's influence.
The descending Rules Spirit seemed to sense the danger.
A pair of eyes that were originally white transformed into a swirling vortex of colors. Chen Moxuan inadvertently caught sight of these eyes and was instantly captivated.
His emotions fell into turmoil, and he felt himself on the brink of succumbing!
Colorful strands of Emotional Connection flew out from the eye vortex, entering Chen Moxuan's eyes and penetrating his consciousness. Upon contact with these Emotional Connections, he realized they were all intense feelings of love between men and women.
A few strands were manageable; with his mental strength, he could suppress them. However, the influx of Emotional Connections was overwhelming. Despite his desperate attempts to resist and contain them, they continued to pour in relentlessly.
In his consciousness, the most fervent feelings of love erupted. Gradually, Chen Moxuan's eyes turned crimson, and his breathing became rapid. What was the Rules Spirit trying to achieve?
With all his might, he felt Wu Yinuo's skeletal structure creak as some bones cracked under the strain. Yet even so, the Rules Spirit showed no intention of retreating.
Chen Moxuan sensed his consciousness beginning to blur, and his physical strength waned. In a hazy state, it seemed he did not release Wu Yinuo; instead, he embraced her even tighter. He seemed reluctant to let her go.
As his awareness was overwhelmed by the Emotional Connections, Wu Yinuo simultaneously experienced their impact as well. In that moment, it appeared that the Rules Spirit had its own scheme in play. It displayed its cunning while calculating the fates of both Chen Moxuan and Wu Yinuo.
Both individuals, struck by the Emotional Connections, lost their rationality, their eyes filled with burning passion. Finally, it was unclear who took the first step, but it was as if dry kindling met fierce flames or a comet collided with Earth!
The room had become a stage for the instinct of survival. A sudden storm had erupted, and after an unknown amount of time, tranquility finally returned to the space.
In some respects, one must admit that women have their advantages. Despite having gone through an intense battle, it was Wu Yinuo who woke up first. As she took in the scene before her, a complex array of emotions flickered in her eyes—surprise, excitement, sadness, and regret.
But then, as if a thought struck her, she slowly began to regain control over her emotions. She took out a piece of paper and wrote on it:
"This is not without desire; we shall meet again!"
After finishing, she sighed softly and placed the note beside Chen Moxuan. She gazed at him for a few seconds before turning to leave.
Chen Moxuan felt utterly exhausted, as if he had drained every ounce of strength from his body. He lost track of time until he sensed a renewed vigor coursing through him. Then he awoke.
Hadn't I just been fighting with Wu Yinuo? Why does it feel like I fell asleep?
As his memories began to resurface—having been ambushed by the Rules Spirit—he suddenly recalled something that made him leap out of bed in shock.

Chen Moxuan could hardly believe that such events had unfolded involving himself. Yet he was no longer a young man; knowing what had happened, he chose not to dwell on complaints.
What a twist of fate!
Scenes began to surface in his mind—some exhilarating, others beyond his control. These images left him both amused and bewildered. After a while, he finally accepted this reality. It was then that he noticed the note left by Wu Yinuo.
Upon reading the two lines written on it, he understood her message: "This matter is not without willingness; even in parting, we are still human." He realized that Wu Yinuo was conveying her respect for his choice.
Chen Moxuan tried to calm his racing heart but found it impossible to achieve tranquility. So, he began to practice the Jiu Jiu Xuan Gong. After cycling through the technique several times, he finally felt a sense of peace wash over him.
He started to reflect. In the recent battle, he had unleashed all his power, yet despite that, he had still fallen victim to the Rules Spirit. The Rules Spirit's mastery over emotional connections was truly terrifying. It had managed to completely strip away the essence of love from countless emotional ties and directed that power against both him and Wu Yinuo.
This also indicated that the Rules Spirit possessed its own consciousness; it wasn't merely the cold and unfeeling force it appeared to be.
It seemed he had encountered a formidable opponent this time! Rather than feeling fear, Chen Moxuan felt a surge of excitement. He also discovered that deep within his sea of consciousness, there was indeed a part sealed away—a power he recognized all too well, the unique cold and unfeeling strength of the Rules Spirit.
