Guan Yao shivered; this person was definitely not simple. He seemed to know everything about the division of the Guan Family inheritance—more than even their own family members did.
Guan Yao steadied himself and said, "Speak then; what is your intention?"
Tan Yan spoke while feeling around for a chair to sit down. The blood loss was making him dizzy; he could barely stand: "It would indeed be somewhat difficult for me to swallow the entire Guan Family Estate alone. I have no intention of being your enemy; I just want the inheritance division to be more reasonable."
Guan Qingmo was the first to object: "Don't listen to him! What does an outsider know?"
But no one paid him any mind.
Guan Yao asked, "Why should I believe you have this capability?"
Tan Yan smirked: "If you believe me, there’s still a chance for a turnaround. If not, then I can only say you’re on your own."
Guan Yao fell silent again, and the atmosphere grew tense once more.
Tan Yan pretended not to notice: "First, get me some medical insurance for my eyes. Until I've fully gained your trust, I can stay in the basement."
He changed his tone and continued with a pale face: "Additionally, during our cooperation period, my informants can also be at your disposal; whether they are truthful or not is for you to consider."
"Cooperation? What do you need me to do?" Guan Yao captured the key words.
Tan Yanfeng replied lightly, "Today, I will help you seize power. In the future, you must lend me a helping hand."
Zheng Mengni was very busy during this winter vacation. At first, she was unwilling to have too much contact with Guan Su Lin. However, he was cunning and infiltrated her life without her noticing. She could see his presence everywhere.

To pave the way for her future, Zheng Mengni decided she could take advantage of their interactions to learn from Guan Su Lin's abilities. She no longer made excuses to refuse his invitations for outings.
Guan Su Lin never shied away from Zheng Mengni; he often brought her along when discussing significant matters. As for what she could learn from it all, that depended on how sharp her own mind was.
Their relationship quietly began to change. Both were aware of the dynamics: one was openly taking advantage while the other willingly offered herself to be used.
