In the afternoon, Xu Yi still hadn't gotten out of bed, nor had she made any sound. Chenchen, Yao Lu, and Bai Jinxi started to worry and decided to check on Xu Yi. The three of them gently pulled back Xu Yi's bed curtain, only to see Xu Yi still lying in bed, looking pale and very weak.
Yao Lu immediately walked up to him, softly calling out Xu Yi's name: "Xu Yi, are you awake? How do you feel?"
Xu Yi slowly opened his eyes, looked at Chenchen and the others, and said in a weak voice: "I'm fine, just a little dizzy. I want to sleep a little longer."
Yao Lu noticed that Xu Yi's forehead was a little warm, she immediately reached out to touch it, and exclaimed: "Xu Yi, you have a fever!"
Bai Jinxi also stepped forward and used her hand to test Xu Yi's forehead, which was indeed higher than normal body temperature. She immediately became nervous: "Why is it so hot? Xu Yi, let's go to the school clinic." Xu Yi wanted to refuse, but seeing their worried expressions, she eventually nodded. The three of them quickly helped Xu Yi put on her clothes, then supported her as they walked out of the dormitory and headed to the school clinic.
At the school clinic, the doctor examined Xu Yi and prescribed some medication. The doctor told them that Xu Yi had a fever due to excessive fatigue and emotional fluctuations, and she needed to rest and recuperate. All three of them breathed a sigh of relief, and they helped Xu Yi back to the dormitory to lie down and rest.
Chenchen and Yao Lu decided to stay to take care of Xu Yi, while Bai Jinxi went to prepare some light food for Xu Yi.
With the dust of the competition settled, Jian Chen stepped out of the bustling venue, feeling a surge of complex emotions.
Xing Hao turned around and saw Jian Chen about to leave. He walked up and asked in confusion, "Jian Chen, where are you going? The competition is over, aren't you going to celebrate with everyone?"
Jian Chen stopped and turned to look at Xing Hao, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes. He took a deep breath and slowly said, "I want to go find Xu Yi."
Upon hearing the name, Xing Hao paused for a moment, then understood Jian Chen's intention.
He was silent for a moment, then patted Jian Chen's shoulder, with a hint of understanding in his tone, "I know you really want to see her, but... are you sure she wants to see you now?"
Jian Chen nodded, his voice firm: "No matter what she thinks, I still want to see her."
Xing Hao looked at Jian Chen's determined eyes and knew he had made up his mind. He sighed and said, "Alright, go ahead."
Jian Chen nodded and turned to walk outside the venue, feeling uneasy. He reached the bottom of the Department of Mathematics building and began asking passing students for directions.
He stopped a student holding a book from the Department of Mathematics and politely asked, "Hello, do you know where Xu Yi from the Department of Mathematics is right now?"
The student glanced at Jian Chen and seemed to have some impression of his name, then replied, "Oh, Xu Yi, she was just watching the game in the audience seats. But after the game ended, I didn't see her. She might have gone back to the dormitory."
Jian Chen felt relieved and immediately thanked the student before continuing on. However, after walking a few steps, he felt uneasy again, worried that Xu Yi might have already left the school. So, he stopped another student from the Department of Mathematics.
"Hello, have you seen Xu Yi from the Department of Mathematics?" Jian Chen asked anxiously.
The student thought for a moment and said, "Xu Yi, I think she's at the school clinic."
"The school clinic?" Jian Chen was surprised and worried, "What happened to her? Why would she go to the school clinic?"
The classmate shook his head, indicating that he was not very clear about the specific situation: "I'm not sure either. I just heard from other classmates that she seemed to be feeling unwell and was sent to the school clinic."
Jian Chen's heart suddenly became uneasy, and he urgently wanted to confirm Xu Yi's condition. He quickly expressed his thanks and hurried towards the direction of the school clinic.
Under the setting sun, Jian Chen's steps became increasingly hurried. He kept praying in his heart, hoping that Xu Yi was only slightly unwell, and that he could see her soon to confirm her safety.
Finally, Jian Chen arrived at the school clinic. He walked into the hall panting and looked around, hoping to see Xu Yi. He asked the nurse at the front desk and learned that Xu Yi had indeed been there but had already left. Upon hearing this news, Jian Chen's worry grew even stronger. He hurriedly asked the nurse, "Excuse me, how long ago did she leave? Is her condition serious? Did she say where she was going?"
The nurse smiled and replied, "Don't worry, she hasn't been gone long, and she looks fine, so it shouldn't be a big deal. Plus, she has classmates with her, so she probably went back to the dorm." Jian Chen breathed a sigh of relief, but the uneasiness in his heart did not completely disappear. After thanking the nurse again, he turned and ran towards the Department of Mathematics dormitory. The lingering sunlight cast a long shadow on him, and although his pace was quick, each step seemed particularly heavy.
Jian Chen was running on the road. Although the nurse's words had somewhat reassured him, he still couldn't completely let go of his worries. When he arrived at the dormitory building of the Department of Mathematics, he couldn't help but slow down his pace, searching the crowd for Xu Yi's figure.
Suddenly, Jian Chen's gaze was firmly drawn to a familiar figure - it was indeed Xu Yi. She was being carefully supported by several classmates, her steps appearing somewhat weak.
Seeing this scene, Jian Chen's uneasiness in his heart eased slightly, but at the same time, he became even more worried about Xu Yi's physical condition.
At that moment, Xu Yi seemed to sense something. She instinctively turned around, her gaze darting through the crowd as if searching for something. However, because Jian Chen was hiding in the shadows, she did not spot his figure. "What's wrong?" Bai Jinxi asked with concern.
Xu Yi shook her head gently, trying to make her voice sound calm: "Ah, it's nothing, I just feel like someone is watching me from behind." She said, then turned to look again, but still found nothing.
Bai Jinxi saw this and stopped asking, just silently accompanied Xu Yi and walked towards the dormitory building together. Meanwhile, Jian Chen continued to hide in the dark, watching their gradually receding figures, feeling an indescribable emotion surging in his heart.
Jian Chen quietly observed as he saw her walk into the dormitory building, finally letting out a sigh of relief.
Leaning against the tree trunk, Jian Chen felt a mix of emotions. He wanted to rush to Xu Yi immediately to confirm her physical condition, but he also worried that his impulsiveness might bring unnecessary trouble to her. He knew he needed to give Xu Yi some time and space to rest well.
The sun had completely set, and nightfall was approaching. Jian Chen stood under the tree, looking in the direction of the dormitory building, silently praying that Xu Yi would recover soon.
