The woman was struck and regained some awareness, enough to hastily get up, but her mind was still not fully clear. In a moment of confusion, she collapsed right back onto Chixue Cha. 0

Another sharp sound rang out, accompanied by a piercing shriek. 0

"You wretched person, get up! Are you trying to kill me?" 0

The woman scrambled to her feet in a fluster, but in her clumsiness, she accidentally pressed down on Chixue Cha's stomach, causing her to gasp in pain. 0

Chixue Cha lay on the ground in a disheveled state, furious as she slammed her hand against the floor and screamed. 0

"Ah, this is bullying! Help me!" 0

As she thrashed about, Chixue Cha suddenly felt a lightness on her wrist. She looked up to see that her watch had been smashed open, the face cracked! 0

Turning to glance at the ground, she noticed that there were stones scattered about, one of which had sharply struck her watch! 0

Ignoring the pain in her arm, she hurriedly sat up to inspect her watch. 0

With wide eyes filled with sorrow, she lamented, "Ah, my new watch! My watch!" 0

She raised her gaze resentfully towards Wen Qian and began to cry bitterly. 0

"Sister-in-law, I truly don’t know how I offended you. How could you hit me like this? I really don’t know what I did wrong! My watch is broken now; you must be happy about that!" 0

"I know that Lu Zheng Ge bought you the same watch as mine. You must be jealous and think there’s something between us. But I assure you, my relationship with him is completely innocent! Now I have nothing left; I've lost face completely! I might as well just die!" 0

Wen Qian watched her performance with an amused smirk; Chixue Cha had quite the talent for theatrics. Why wasn’t she in an arts troupe instead of wasting her talent here? 0

Even those who had been watching from the beginning couldn’t help but want to laugh at the contrast between Chixue Cha’s earlier fierce insults and her current pitiful demeanor. 0

However, they felt no need to intervene; it was best not to offend anyone. It was better to remain silent and simply observe. 0

Wen Qian said nothing and quietly watched Chixue Cha's act unfold. 0

Finally, after Chixue Cha had talked herself hoarse and could no longer shed any tears, she looked up at Wen Qian only to meet her disdainful gaze. 0

Her breath caught in her throat as anger flared in her reddened eyes. 0

"Are you done?" 0

Wen Qian's voice cut through the air. The crowd that had been watching Chixue Cha’s tirade suddenly snapped back to attention, eagerly looking at Wen Qian. 0

"Once you're done, I'm heading home!" 0

Wen Qian squatted down to pick up the basket from the ground and started to walk away. Chixue Cha crawled over and grabbed onto Wen Qian's pants. 0

"You can't leave! You’ve made me suffer so much; I have to seek justice!" 0

"Then go get the leader!" 0

Wen Qian squatted down to look at her. "You spend all day doing these boring things. Don't you find it annoying? I'm already fed up with it!" 0

"The leaders in the army are so busy; where would they find the time to deal with these trivial matters?" 0

"I'm waiting at home for you to come. If you don't show up, I might really start to look down on you! You can't be that cowardly, Chi Xuecha!" 0

Wen Qian smiled slightly, and the resentment in Chi Xuecha's heart deepened. She let go of Wen Qian and dragged her disheveled body home. 0

In her heart, she smugly thought, "Go ahead, leave! My current state is proof enough, isn't it? Once I stroll around the army base, who won't know that you bullied me? In the end, even if you have ten mouths, you won't be able to explain yourself. The leaders won't care about the small details either!" 0

Wen Qian sat down at home, dazed for a moment. She raised her wrist to check her watch, blinked her eyes, and hesitated for a moment before reaching for the watch but then gave up. 0

"Forget it! Even if it's mine now, it's still on my wrist; that means it's my property!" 0

Chi Xuecha had this thought as she wandered around all the places she could in the army base, feeling miserable. 0

Before long, everyone in the army knew that Chi Xuecha had been beaten by Wen Qian. 0

Chi Xuecha made a big fuss about going to the hospital for an examination, claiming her arm was fractured. She exaggeratedly hung her arm in a sling and applied ointment to her bruised face. 0

She cried and rushed into Commander Chi's office! 0

At that moment, a meeting was taking place inside the office. Chi Xuecha suddenly barged in, and her pitiful appearance made Commander Chi and everyone in the room flinch. 0

Guan Weiguang immediately stood up and ran to Chi Xuecha's side, looking at her with concern and pain. "What happened to you? Why is your face swollen? What happened to your arm?" 0

Chi Xuecha pushed Guan Weiguang away and walked straight up to Lu Zheng. With tears streaming down her face, she pitifully recounted her tale. 0

"Brother Lu, I don't know how I angered Sister-in-law. In a fit of rage, she slapped me four times and even broke my arm! I really didn't mean to!" 0

"Look at my swollen face; I can barely speak! My arm is broken!" 0

The people around couldn't help but gasp in admiration as they looked at Lu Zheng. 0

"Impressive! Living with such a tigress at home must be tough!" 0

"No wonder he came asking how to please his wife; he probably gets beaten quite often behind closed doors!" 0

They observed closely and noticed that Lu Zheng's face seemed a bit swollen too! 0

It seemed so! Captain Chi was in the middle of a good meeting when it was suddenly interrupted, leaving him quite displeased. Seeing his daughter injured only added to his distress. However, when Chi Xuecha rushed to Lu Zheng's side, his expression changed. 0

After all, he was Chi Xuecha's father; how could he not understand her? There was a hint of anger in Captain Chi's words as he frowned at Chi Xuecha. "Come here!" 0

Chi Xuecha ran over with a sense of grievance, wrapping one arm around his, pouting, "Daddy, look at how I’ve been hurt! It really hurts so much; just look at me!" 0

Up close, Captain Chi's eyelids twitched. Earlier at the hospital, in an effort to exaggerate her injury, she had asked the doctor to apply some iodine on her face. Her face was swollen and yellow, and her arm was wrapped in cloth and slung around her neck. Her clothes were tattered and torn. If she hadn’t spoken up, no one would have recognized her as Chi Xuecha. 0

Captain Chi felt both heartbroken and angry; he was frustrated that his daughter could be so foolish! "What did you do? Why did Lu Zheng's wife hit you? There must be a reason!" 0

Tears streamed down Chi Xuecha's face as she felt hurt that her father didn’t believe her. She cried out, her words somewhat slurred. "I really didn’t do anything! If you don’t believe me, just ask the sisters in the family courtyard; they all saw it! It was Sister Wen Qian who hit me for no reason at all." 0

She turned to Lu Zheng, crying as she said, "Maybe it's because I bought a watch that’s the same as the one you and your wife bought. She must have misunderstood that I have some sort of relationship with you!" 0

As she spoke, she took out the broken watch and placed it on the table. "This is what Sister Qian smashed! I couldn’t do anything about it; I couldn’t fight back against her, so I could only watch helplessly." 0

Chi Xuecha’s heartfelt words and her pitiful appearance began to sway some people’s beliefs in her favor. Lu Zheng sat silently on the bench with a solemn expression, glancing at the watch before stealing another look at Chi Xuecha, then closing his eyes briefly. 0
