The old matriarch Gu was so enraged that her face turned red and her neck thickened, her eyes darkening before she fainted and collapsed to the ground. When a servant came to report that Gu Zan had caused trouble in Xuezhuyuan, she didn’t rush back but followed closely behind Gu Siyuan instead. She had known this man long enough to understand that he valued his mother more than her and their son. Now that he only had Zan as a son, he would likely indulge her.
Even if he got angry, it would only result in a few tears shed or some extra effort in bed; it was nothing serious.
"Mother has fainted; we should go check on her," Gu Siyuan said, not wanting to linger on trivial matters any longer.
Upon hearing that the old matriarch had fainted, Chen Die hurriedly followed in Gu Siyuan's footsteps toward Chunhe Hall.
Gu Siyuan stepped into the Spring Crane Hall and encountered the doctor who had just finished checking the old lady's pulse. He asked a few concerned questions before proceeding into the inner chamber.
