About half an hour later, Bai Yiming gently took out the jade and wiped its surface clean with a piece of white silk. However, he noticed the faint dragon markings on the back of the jade, still a delicate pink hue, not turning bright red as expected.
Sun Man's expression darkened instantly as he turned his cold gaze towards Li Changjiang. "Mr. Li, do you have anything else to explain? How dare you bring a fake jade to deceive me! What audacity!"
Hearing Sun Man's furious shout, Li Changjiang involuntarily fell to the ground. Suddenly, as if struck by a thought, he hurriedly said, "My lord, Master Sun, perhaps what Shookeeper Bai said is false. There’s no human blood seeping into it; it’s all nonsense he made up!"
"Are you still trying to deny it? I don’t even know you; why would I want to harm you?" Bai Yiming said innocently.
Li Changjiang's gaze darted around, his mouth opening and closing as he struggled to find words. After a long pause, he finally said, "Maybe… you also like this 'Blood Dragon Jade' and want to keep it for yourself!"
Sun Man listened intently, his expression serious as he looked at Bai Yiming. Bai Yiming seemed somewhat amused and said, "My lord, please don't listen to his nonsense. As he spoke, three more individuals rushed into Ba Bao Zhai. On either side were the Bounty Hunters Wang Long and Song Hui, while the one firmly held in the middle was Lin Kong, characterized by his small eyes and large nose.
Li Changjiang glanced at Lin Kong and immediately crumpled to the ground, unable to support himself any longer.
Zeng Liang coldly remarked, "You think you're clever, acting without leaving a trace. But you never imagined that the heavens are vast and nothing escapes their net!"
His gaze shifted to Lin Kong. "Lin Kong, repeat what you know for Mr. Li to hear clearly."
Lin Kong slowly nodded and began, "To Constable Zeng and Master Sun, I, Lin Kong, am indeed not a legitimate merchant. My purpose in coming to Mou Shui City was not to buy ancient jade but to repair it. I am a jade craftsman who makes a living by restoring jade for antique dealers and wealthy families. Recently, he sought me out again at the Original Gate, paying me to replicate a piece of jade—the 'Blood Dragon Jade' you see before you.
