A female college student was dismembered and thrown into a trash bin, while a female teacher was stuffed into a suitcase and buried in a small grove. Within just a few days, two murders involving students and teachers occurred in close proximity to the same university.
It must be said that every college campus is often rife with terrifying legends.
However, the two cases being discussed, while not as horrific as the "Nanjing Dismemberment Case," and lacking in complexity and challenge during the investigation, are astonishing in that the resolution of the "Female Student Dismemberment Case" actually led to the identification of two murderers, which in turn provided a breakthrough in solving the other case.
What is the connection between these two cases? Who are these two murderers?

At 6 AM that morning, madam Chong, who lived across from the Southwest Gate of Nongda in Shushan New Village, was preparing to search for something to feed her large wolfdog from the community's trash bins.
Initially, she found several large pieces of dismembered meat wrapped in red plastic bags in the trash bin under Building 31. Excitedly, she moved on to search the bin under Building 33.
To her delight, she discovered several more red bags containing meat chunks in that bin. She thought to herself that this time she hit the jackpot; her wolfdog wouldn’t lack for meat for an entire week.
However, when she opened one of the bags, she was horrified to find not meat chunks but two bloody human hands inside. Terrified, she dropped the bag and ran away while shouting, "There’s been a murder! There’s been a murder!"
Upon receiving the report, local police quickly arrived at the scene and immediately cordoned off the entire community, conducting an investigation of every trash bin beneath each building. Subsequently, technicians discovered similar red bags containing body parts in the trash bin under Building 37.
Additionally, officers found a pair of bloodied white gloves in a corner outside the community.
At that moment, forensic experts noted that the body parts were not complete. After further investigation and questioning, police learned that a batch of trash bins had already been transported to a waste transfer station. Fortunately, the refuse at the transfer station had not yet been cleared away; police quickly located the victim's head and lower body within the garbage heap.
Meanwhile, Hefei Police established a special task force to investigate the case.
Due to the incident occurring right across from the Southwest Gate of Nongda, the Body Parts Case instantly triggered panic among countless teachers and students. Just a few days prior, a female teacher from Nongda had mysteriously disappeared late at night and has been missing ever since. Could the victim of the Body Parts Case be this missing teacher?
It is understood that this teacher, named Xiao, is 28 years old. After graduating with her doctorate in September 2011, she began working at Nongda as an English teacher. Although she had been employed for less than two months, her beauty and kind-hearted nature made her well-liked by both colleagues and students.
On the evening of November 5, 2011, Xiao took a train from Hefei to Liu An to meet her boyfriend, Zhang, as usual. However, when Zhang arrived at Liu An train station the next morning, he could not find any sign of Xiao, and her phone was unreachable.
Just half an hour earlier, Xiao had told him over the phone that she was almost at Liu An train station. How could she suddenly go missing without a trace? After a fruitless night of searching, Zhang chose to report her disappearance to the police at dawn.
The police quickly reviewed surveillance footage from around the train station, but due to the poor quality of nighttime recordings and limited coverage, they found nothing after several days of investigation.
The only confirmed detail was that technical tracking indicated Xiao's phone was turned off while she was still on the train. What could have happened to her on that train?
As everyone remained anxious, on November 11, 2011, Xiao's family suddenly received a text message from her phone stating that she was in someone's hands and that if they did not pay a ransom of 170,000 yuan immediately, she would be killed.
Shortly after, they received a multimedia message containing a photo of Xiao bound. Upon identification, it was confirmed that the person in the photo was indeed Xiao, who had been missing for five days. The sudden kidnapping message plunged her family into panic. After careful consideration, they decided to inform the police.
With the missing person case now escalating into a kidnapping case and Xiao's life hanging in the balance, the Liu An police urged her parents to keep the kidnapper calm while launching an extensive investigation. However, in the following days, there was no further communication from the kidnapper.
Now that the Body Parts Case had occurred near Xiao's university, not only were students at Nongda filled with anxiety, but the police also felt immense pressure. Everyone suspected that the deceased might be the mysteriously missing Xiao.
However, this speculation was quickly overturned just hours later. Immediately after the incident, the special investigation team reviewed surveillance footage from the community and discovered that the person who discarded bags containing body parts had last been seen disappearing into Building 37 of the community.
With assistance from police dogs, the special investigation team soon identified the male resident of Room 304 in Building 37 as a major suspect. Upon investigation, this man named Wang Jilun, 61 years old and a retired bus driver, was found to possess various tools related to the crime and significant amounts of residual blood at his residence.
Faced with overwhelming evidence, Wang Jilun confessed to murdering and dismembering his victim. He revealed that the victim was named Xiao Lin, a 24-year-old temporary worker at a foot massage parlor. DNA testing confirmed that the deceased in the Body Parts Case was not missing Xiao but rather Xiao Lin as Wang Jilun had stated.
Shockingly, it turned out that Xiao Lin lived in the same community as Wang Jilun and that her father was also a colleague of Wang Jilun's.
Although Xiaolin's parents passed away unexpectedly, the relationship between the two families remained very close. Not long ago, Wang Jilun's son got married, and it was Xiaolin who served as a bridesmaid for the bride. In 2011, through her own efforts, Xiaolin successfully upgraded her education to a master's degree through self-study and obtained an opportunity to study abroad in Australia.
To adapt to the foreign language environment, she enrolled in an English training class. However, the tuition fees for the class were quite high. To avoid burdening her relatives, she chose to study while working part-time.
The place where she worked was a legitimate chain foot massage center, with no gray market dealings involved; moreover, she was merely a part-time cashier at the front desk.
However, Wang Jilun viewed Xiaolin as an indecent girl who had fallen into depravity for money. Taking advantage of his wife being away at their son's house to care for his pregnant daughter-in-law, he extended his claws towards his longtime friend's daughter.
On the night of November 14, 2011, the day of the incident, Wang Jilun lured Xiaolin to his home under the pretense that his wife had invited her for dinner. At that moment, Xiaolin was unaware that the once kind uncle had turned into a beast.
Faced with Wang Jilun's sinister intentions, she fought back and cried for help. Unexpectedly, Wang Jilun became enraged and directly strangled her to death. He then used household tools such as a kitchen knife and scissors to dismember Xiaolin's body. Around 3 a.m. on the 15th, he packed her remains into several bags and discarded them in trash bins around the neighborhood.
Little did he know that within less than a day, his heinous crime would be exposed, and he would be apprehended by the police. Thus, the Female Student Dismemberment Case was solved with astonishing speed.
However, just as the special investigation team was preparing to celebrate their success, the police suddenly received a strange phone call from someone claiming to be the murderer of the recent homicide near Agricultural University.
Yet there had only been one Body Parts Case near Agricultural University two days prior, and the murderer Wang Jilun had already been captured. How could there be another killer?
Could it be that there were two murderers in this case? Although the police were baffled, their professional instincts kicked in. They did not explain anything to the caller but immediately dispatched officers to take the informant Criminal Investigation Department from the student dormitory at Agricultural University.
After interrogation, what initially seemed confusing to the officers became clear: Criminal Investigation Department was indeed a murderer in a homicide case; however, he was not responsible for the Female Student Dismemberment Case but rather for the murder of a female teacher named Xiao.
It turned out that in recent days, Criminal Investigation Department had overheard classmates discussing a homicide on campus. Feeling guilty about his own crime and hearing that it occurred near school with a young female victim, he instinctively thought that his wrongdoing had been exposed.
Fearing that police might find clues about him from the body, Criminal Investigation Department panicked completely and ultimately chose to turn himself in to lessen his guilt.
Following Criminal Investigation Department's identification, police excavated Xiao's body from a small grove near Agricultural University. At that moment, Criminal Investigation Department realized that his crime had not actually been exposed; he felt immense regret and wished he could strangle himself on the spot.
So, what exactly happened in the case of the female teacher, Xiao? It turns out that Criminal Investigation Department and Teacher Xiao were actually strangers.
On the night of November 5, 2011, while on a train to Lu'an City, Criminal Investigation Department happened to notice the beautiful Xiao and approached her to strike up a conversation. During their chat, Xiao learned that Criminal Investigation Department was a student from her school, which made her feel a sense of familiarity. Little did she know that this student was actually a good-for-nothing and a gambling addict.
Seeing Xiao's innocent nature, Criminal Investigation Department's malicious thoughts arose as he plotted to extort some money from her to pay off his gambling debts.
As he contemplated his next move, Xiao's phone died and shut off. Seizing the opportunity, Criminal Investigation Department claimed that his home was not far from the Liu An train station and suggested they go there to charge her phone before contacting her boyfriend. Unexpectedly, Xiao followed him home without any suspicion, feeling grateful instead.
Not long after they entered the house, while she was distracted looking at her phone, Criminal Investigation Department used a rope to strangle her into unconsciousness.
Once she lost consciousness, Criminal Investigation Department stole all of her belongings, including money and her phone. He then assaulted her and staged a scene to make it look like she had been kidnapped and bound. Finally, he took nude photos of her in an attempt to extort money from her family.
To his shock, when he woke up the next day, he found that Xiao had stopped breathing. To cover up his crime, Criminal Investigation Department stuffed her body into a suitcase and hired a car to return to Hefei. He had thought of a very discreet place to dispose of the body: a small grove near his school.
On November 11, Criminal Investigation Department was confronted by creditors due to his massive gambling debts. In a desperate bid for cash, he sent ransom messages to his family using Xiao's phone, including one of the nude photos he had taken.
However, just as he was planning how to safely collect the ransom, a large number of police suddenly arrived near the school. Believing that Xiao's body had been discovered, he had no choice but to turn himself in. On April 6, 2012, the Hefei Intermediate People's Court sentenced Wang Jilun to death and deprived him of political rights for life.
After the verdict was announced, Wang Jilun stated in court that he would not appeal. On November 19 of the same year, Wang Jilun was identified and taken to the execution ground for his sentence. Meanwhile, Criminal Investigation Department thought that by confessing he could avoid the death penalty; however, on May 8, 2012, he too was sentenced to immediate execution.
Thus concluded the shocking Anhui Agricultural University Double Murder Case, leaving countless teachers and students with endless regret.
