Ruan Fuxi's expression grew colder.
To dare to lay hands on a member of the Ruan family was simply unforgivable!
After hanging up the phone, Sheng Yanzhou looked at her with concern. "Xiao Xi, are you going back to Beijing?"
He had overheard the earlier conversation, so he had a rough idea of what had transpired.
Ruan Fuxi nodded. "Yes, I need to return as soon as possible."
Seeing her troubled expression, Sheng Yanzhou didn’t press for more details. All he needed to do was support her.
He lowered his head and sent a message on his phone, then turned to Ruan Fuxi. "It's getting late. The fastest flight back to Beijing is ready. I've arranged for a private jet; we can leave right away."
Ruan Fuxi's expression softened slightly. She nodded in agreement. "Okay."
With that, she headed outside, and Sheng Yanzhou followed her closely. "I'll accompany you."
Ruan Fuxi had grown accustomed to his presence by her side and didn’t say anything in response. She left her pets, Guigui and Zhao Xiaoyu, at the apartment and took Xuan Ye with her instead.
Two hours later, Ruan Fuxi and Sheng Yanzhou arrived at the Beijing airport. Before boarding the plane, Ruan Fuxi had already informed her family about her return.
Once they landed, Ruan Fuxi wasted no time and got straight into a car heading to the Ruan family home. As they passed the entrance of the neighborhood, the security guard recognized her and greeted her warmly with a salute.
"Welcome back, Miss Ruan."
Ruan Fuxi smiled and then got out of the car with Sheng Yanzhou at the entrance of the Ruan family home. Knowing that Ruan Fuxi was coming back, several members of the Ruan family were already at home. As soon as Ruan Fuxi and Sheng Yanzhou stepped out, they were greeted by the others.
Seeing Ruan Fuxi, Ruan Jili and Lu Manyun were both surprised and somewhat worried. They politely greeted Sheng Yanzhou before turning to Ruan Fuxi.
"Xiao Xi, aren't you supposed to be in class? Why did you suddenly come back?"
Ruan Fuxi replied, "I had something to take care of."
As she spoke, she noticed a small pool of blood at the entrance. Her expression turned icy, and instead of immediately entering the house, she instructed someone to bring a container to collect the blood on the ground.
After reviewing the surveillance footage, she confirmed that it was Bai Tong's blood—something she could definitely use. Remembering how Bai Tong had been backfired by the defensive formation, a smile crept onto her lips. The formation she had set up was not just for show.
Only then did she walk in with Sheng Yanzhou. Aside from Ruan Huai, the rest of the Ruan family were still unaware that someone had targeted their family. Once everyone was seated on the sofa, Ruan Fuxi noticed their worried gazes fixed on her.
She then explained Bai Tong's malicious intentions towards the Ruan family. The expressions of her family members darkened upon hearing this.
Ruan Xun's face turned agitated. "What’s wrong with that Tong? What did our family ever do to her?" He then looked at Ruan Fuxi with admiration and continued, "Thank goodness for the formation set up by my sister; otherwise, who knows what could have happened."
Ruan Anmu also appeared furious. "Does she just hate to see our family doing well? Or is she jealous that Xiao Xi is better than her? Now she's reaping what she sowed—serves her right."
Ruan Huai was relatively composed and remained silent for a moment. Ruan Ji Li and Lu Man Yun both understood that the other party belonged to the Xuanmen sect, and they, as ordinary people, would not have much in common with them. The reason the other party acted this way was likely because of Xiao Xi.
