Ruan Fuxi's voice continued to resonate:
"If you want to free your mother, you can only demolish this building."
"Does it have to be completely demolished?"
Ruan Fuxi affirmed, "Yes, it must be entirely torn down."
Ye Ling's expression turned troubled upon hearing this. This building was constructed by her father; if only part of it were demolished, she could still manage, but if it were completely taken down, she feared her father would explode in anger. What would she do then? Her father didn't have just her as a daughter; if he got mad at her, would she still inherit the family fortune?
As these thoughts raced through her mind, she suddenly met Ruan Fuxi's clear gaze and jolted back to reality. Her father had built his wealth on the properties of her mother and her grandparents, and her mother's dowry had been completely depleted. Her mother had sacrificed so much for this family.
The thought of being trapped beneath the building after death, unable to move on, weighed heavily on Ye Ling. With a serious expression, she nodded resolutely.
"Alright, I'll demolish this building!"
As soon as her words fell, a cold voice echoed from not far away.
"Ling Ling, what are you planning to demolish?"
Ye Ling turned at the sound and immediately felt a mix of fear and respect in her demeanor.

Approaching was none other than Ye Ling's father, Ye Sheng. He exuded an imposing presence typical of someone in a position of power for a long time. Behind him followed a young man and someone slightly older, along with a familiar face to Ruan Fuxi—Bai Tong.
Bai Tong was surprised to see Ruan Fuxi but frowned when he noticed Sheng Yanzhou standing beside her.
Does he really like her that much? Do they have to be together all the time?
But thinking about the serious matter that brought her to the harbor city today, Bai Tong remained silent.
Ye Ling felt a bit intimidated by her father, but at this moment, she spoke up resolutely: "Dad, I want to tear down this building."
Ye Sheng frowned and reprimanded her, "This building was constructed in memory of your mother. Why would you want to tear it down? Don't you have any filial piety left?"

The young man following Ye Sheng was his son Ye Bin, Ye Ling's half-brother. Upon hearing his name mentioned, Ye Bin stepped forward immediately.
"That's right, sister. You're already so grown up; you should be helping Dad instead of making him angry."
Ye Ling snorted in disdain. "I'm talking to Dad; it's not your place to interrupt."
She then turned back to Ye Sheng and said firmly, "Dad, no matter what you say, I will tear down this building."
Ye Sheng replied, "You haven't been as sensible lately. Who has led you astray? Why would you want to tear down a perfectly good building? Who's instigating you? This building was built by me. Ling Ling, if you want to demolish something your father built, you should consider whether you're capable of doing so."
After saying this, Ye Sheng's icy gaze landed on Ruan Fuxi.
This person must be the master his daughter had found. She was young and beautiful but lacked judgment and insisted on opposing him. It seemed she needed to be dealt with.
Sheng Yanzhou furrowed his brows and stood in front of Ruan Fuxi.
Upon seeing him, Ye Sheng's expression changed dramatically!
