Ruan Fuxi did not enter immediately; she stood outside and took a look around. Ye Ling, too, did not dare to urge her and simply accompanied her outside. In front of them stood the main building, beneath which lay Ye Ling's biological mother. Next to the main building were other structures.
After surveying the area, Ruan Fuxi finally stepped inside. Ye Ling hurried to follow and asked, "Miss Ruan, did you notice anything?"
Ruan Fuxi let out a cold laugh. "Your father will go to any lengths to protect his wealth."
Although Ye Ling was aware that her father was not as good as she had imagined, hearing those words still made her feel a pang of sadness. "Can you elaborate?"
Ruan Fuxi asked, "Have you seen the architectural plans for this building and the surrounding structures?"
Ye Ling paused for a moment before shaking her head. "I was still young when this building was completed, and as I grew older, I didn’t concern myself with such matters."
Ruan Fuxi pointed ahead. "Look closely at this building and the others around it. What do they resemble?"
Ye Ling had never looked at them seriously before, but now, following Ruan Fuxi's gaze, her expression gradually darkened.
Ruan Fuxi glanced at her. "So, do you understand now?"
Ye Ling nodded slowly, her face pale. "I see."
Ruan Fuxi's voice continued. "If you look closely, this resembles a coffin. And in front of this building, there are elevated steps leading up to a fountain with three spouting columns. Doesn’t it look like three incense sticks and an altar?"
As Ruan Fuxi spoke further, Ye Ling's complexion grew increasingly ashen.
"Let's go inside and take a look," she said.
Ye Ling followed her into the main building. Once inside, the sarcasm in Ruan Fuxi's eyes deepened.
"Was your mother in a wheelchair for a while before she passed?" Ruan Fuxi asked.
Ye Ling thought for a moment before nodding. "Yes, my mother was in the late stages of her pregnancy and had difficulty moving, so she could only sit in a wheelchair."
Ruan Fuxi raised an eyebrow. "No wonder."
Inside the main building, there was only an elevator going up; there was no way to go down. To descend, one had to navigate the winding staircase. This design was clearly intended to trap Ye Ling's mother, making it impossible for her to leave while confined to a wheelchair.
Looking around the building, all the wooden railings were made of Liuzhou wood. This type of wood was extremely expensive, and using it for railings would have cost a fortune. Moreover, Liuzhou wood was typically used for coffins in wealthy families; no one would use it for home railings.
The fact that Ye Ling's father had used Liuzhou wood in this building raised many questions about his intentions.
Ruan Fuxi continued to the top floor, where she gazed at the glass structure shaped like the Bagua and a money sword. From a feng shui perspective, such a design was meant to attract wealth and extinguish souls.
After inspecting the entire building, Ruan Fuxi stepped outside. The lighting inside had been quite dim; anyone staying there for too long would inevitably feel oppressed and uncomfortable. Although Ruan Fuxi didn't feel much herself, she disliked the atmosphere.
Once outside, Ye Ling looked at Ruan Fuxi with a tense expression.
"Miss Ruan," she began hesitantly.
Ruan Fuxi understood her unspoken thoughts and stated bluntly, "This building trapped your mother and fulfilled her prosperous fate while ensuring your father's financial success."
Ye Ling had mentally prepared herself for this revelation, but she still couldn't help feeling distressed.
