Although Ye Ling had feelings for Sheng Yanzhou, drawn to his wealth and good looks, even his disability did not diminish her interest. However, after being rejected for marriage, she let go of her small hopes. If it did not belong to her, she would never force it.
Later, when she learned that Sheng Yanzhou had confessed his feelings, Ye Ling felt no jealousy. Instead, upon seeing Ruan Fuxi, she couldn't help but sigh; it turned out that this was the person who could truly capture Sheng Yanzhou's heart. She realized she was indeed lacking in comparison.
Afterward, Ye Ling discovered that Ruan Fuxi was a master of metaphysics, but she did not pay much attention to it at first. She never expected that Ruan Fuxi was the one who had resolved the haunting issues in her villa.
Ruan Fuxi casually asked, "Do you know me?"
Ye Ling smiled and replied, "With such a grand confession from Mr. Sheng, people in the industry are aware of it to some extent, myself included."
Ruan Fuxi nodded but did not pursue the topic further. Instead, she said, "I've shown you the photos of the villa; I believe you know it's very clean inside."
Ye Ling nodded. "Of course I trust Miss Ruan; otherwise, I wouldn't have arranged to meet you. I can handle the transfer matters right now. The reason I wanted to see you is that I have another request."
Ruan Fuxi's gaze fell on her face, and her brow furrowed for a moment.
Ye Ling remained oblivious and continued, "In recent years, our family has faced frequent setbacks in business, and things always seem to go awry during important processes. My father is quite worried about this; we've even hired some masters at home, but nothing has worked."
She then focused her gaze back on Ruan Fuxi and sincerely said, "Miss Ruan, since you were able to resolve the haunting issue in my villa, I would like to ask for your help with my family's situation."
Her family was wealthy and knew many feng shui masters, yet none had been able to solve their problems. It was only after learning that Ruan Fuxi had resolved the villa's issues that Ye Ling dared to ask for assistance.
Ye Ling wasn't sure if Ruan Fuxi could help them but felt it was worth a try.
Ruan Fuxi understood and maintained a calm expression as she replied:
There are good and bad times in life; no one can always be fortunate. It's normal for things to go awry, so why is Miss Ye so certain that it's a problem with the feng shui?
Ye Ling sighed. "I knew I couldn't hide it from Miss Ruan. You'll understand once you meet my father."
Ruan Fuxi raised an eyebrow.
Ye Ling then took out a photo and placed it in front of Ruan Fuxi. "Miss Ruan, this is a recent photo of my father. Perhaps after seeing it, you'll understand why."
Her father had been in the port city recently, so she could only provide a photo.
Ruan Fuxi glanced at it and declared, "His brow is dark, he's haunted by evil spirits, suffering from five labors and seven injuries; his life is not long for this world."
Ye Ling was taken aback by her words and then bitterly replied, "Miss Ruan, that's exactly why I want to hire a feng shui master. Other masters have said similar things after seeing my father. But since he started his charity work, building schools, paving roads, and supporting impoverished families, he has never done anything to harm others. How could he be haunted by evil spirits?"
Ye Ling's mother had passed away when she was around seven or eight years old, and she shared a deep bond with her father. She didn't want to lose him too.
After thinking for a while, she felt that the problem might lie with the villa.
"Miss Ruan, our family used to live in that villa. Do you think it's possible that the evil spirits there have attached themselves to my father?"
Ruan Fuxi immediately denied it. "No."
Ye Ling looked puzzled. "Why are you so certain? If it's not the evil spirits in that villa haunting my father, then who could it be?"
She simply couldn't understand.
Ruan Fuxi replied, "The spirit haunting your father has unresolved grievances with him; that's why it continues to cling to him even after death."
Upon hearing this, Ye Ling's expression changed slightly. "Miss Ruan, can you tell who this evil spirit is?"
