Ruan Fuxi's fans had already guessed the outcome as soon as Sun Fan appeared. It was nothing more than another tool who would end up being slapped in the face. As fans of Sister Ruan, they had no doubts about her abilities.
"I remember someone said there were no ghosts in this world," one comment read.
"Oh, I wonder who ended up with a noose around their neck, calling out for their great-grandmother," another chimed in.
"Don't forget to fulfill your bet!" someone else reminded.
Sun Fan glanced at the comments on the public screen and wasn't upset. He replied, "I will fulfill my bet; I was just too naive before."
At that moment, Ruan Fuxi said seriously, "People may not believe in ghosts and gods, but they shouldn't disrespect them; one must hold a sense of reverence."
Then she turned to Sun Fan and said, "Alright, I've disconnected from the call. Your reading has taken too much of my time."
Sun Fan nodded. "Sister Ruan, I'll support you from behind the scenes and double the rewards from today's stream as per our bet." With that, he ended the broadcast connection.
Ruan Fuxi's next reading was about work, which didn't take much time and was quickly completed. The viewers in the stream knew her routine well; after finishing a reading, Sister Ruan would surely be eager to end the broadcast.
"Sister Ruan, you haven't streamed in so many days. How about doing two readings today?" one fan suggested.
"Aw, I still haven't had enough!" another added.
"Even though I'm scared, it's really thrilling. Please stream!" someone pleaded.
Ruan Fuxi replied, "I won't be streaming today, but I will return to my regular schedule tomorrow at the usual afternoon time."
After saying that, she ended the broadcast before her fans could express their surprise.
Fans responded: "Alright, alright! We're used to it."
Ruan Fuxi opened her phone and found a flurry of messages waiting for her. Some were from her family, checking in on how she was doing in the city. She replied to each one thoughtfully.
Then there was a message from Sheng Yanzhou. When she clicked on it, a wave of surprise washed over her as she read:
"Xiao Xi, I’ve broken through to the Foundation Establishment stage."
Sheng Yanzhou knew that reaching the Foundation Establishment stage was still not enough to catch up to Xiao Xi, but he wanted to share his progress with the person he loved. These past few days, he had barely slept, spending his nights meditating and practicing. He had also used quite a few jade stones, as their spiritual energy was beneficial for cultivation. The only downside was the expense, but he could afford it.
For Sheng Yanzhou, Ruan Fuxi had no reservations about praising him.
"That’s amazing, Yanzhou! You’re simply a genius!" she replied enthusiastically.
"Do you want to learn about talismans and formations? I can teach you everything."
She remembered how he had always been a prodigy in the cultivation world, and she knew that even in this new realm, he wouldn’t fall short.
Sheng Yanzhou looked at her reply with gentle eyes: "Sure. I’ll learn."
After chatting with Sheng Yanzhou for a while, Ruan Fuxi opened another message from Zhou Yi in her conversation list.
"Fuxi, do you know about the hillside villas in the city? I went there today with some people from the Baishan Sect."
Ruan Fuxi's gaze lingered on the words "Baishan Sect," and her expression sharpened.
"I know. Did you encounter two people when you went?"
